Simeon: You smash into the swarm of snakes with your massive warhammer with your first attack, but as you go to make your second attack you realize that some of them have swarmed around your weapon causing you to miss. The hissing and writhing intensifies and the one still wrapped around your hammer makes a strike at your arm. (attack: 21 damage if hit: 6 and target must roll DC 10 Constitution save or take 14 poison damage.)
I will find a good point to stop cleaning about an hour before the dinner bells. I’m going to tuck the Yuan-Ti book into my waistband to sneak it out of the room. I want to head to the dorm and pick a bed and unpack my belongings into the footlocker. I’ll be hiding the book under everything at the bottom. Just before the dinner bells ring, I head out and pick a table, big enough for my friends to join me. I head to the bar to speak with Sister Naphtali.
“Cleaning that room up is going to take a lot longer than I thought Sister. High Lord Emeritus had a lot of possessions. Anyways, I saw a room in the hallway. The door was open and it looked like a small library. What happens in there? I thought I saw a few other followers in there, but they were very quiet. I didn’t want to bother them. They must have been busy....”
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Korlan: Sister Naphtali is very happy with the amount of work you've done in that room. She looks in and mentions there is probably enough space in there now that you and your friends could have your evening meal in there if you'd prefer. At the mention of the hall room you found her face softens and her eyes get kind of dewey. "Ah. Then have you met Brother Annan?" She sighs with a little smile just thinking about him. "That room is the scriptorium and he is the master of the scribes." She looks towards the hall as if thinking about him will bring him. "If you choose scribe work for your daily task you will work under his tutelage."
Simeon manages to shake off the snake and avoid being poisoned, but swings wildly missing twice. More snakes dart in around his legs, striking at him. (attack: 20 and damage if hit: 4 and target must make a DC 10 Constitution saving throw or take 14 poison damage).
”I think I will take you up on the offer of the private room. I would love to exchange our first day stories without having to yell in the common room.” I laugh a little. “I wouldn’t say I met Brother Annan. I just saw someone from the outside looking in.” I’ll get the room set up to accommodate the group.
Quill is led to the beautiful old mansion which is casting a shadow across the square in the afternoon light. As he enters the main doors there is a wide vestibule with small closet doors to the left and right. The blonde-tailed man leads you through another door with an inset glass oval and then into a large foyer with a long still fountain dominating the room. To the left is a seating area, to the right are three decorative marble pillars with reliefs of women carved into them, behind which Quill can see a meditation room with pillows and a large rug on the floor. Directly ahead is an opening into a large circular room with grand staircases rising on each side. There you can see many mostly bald, hair-tailed, followers of the Celestial Emperor sitting on their knees and raising their arms in a swaying unison as a white-gowned woman stands before them. She is the woman of unearthly beauty that you saw on the steps earlier today. Currently she is speaking in an uplifting voice about the Way of the Wa and peace to be found in its pursuit.
Simeon: The garden area is difficult terrain due to all the crops growing. So you can move 15' only. Roll a d20. If 10 or higher, the snakes don't follow you.
Simeon: As you back away, shaking snakes off of your warhammer, the writhing mass scatters and spreads into the garden. Just then, you hear a familiar happy high pitched little voice entering the garden. "Simeon? Is that you? Whatcha doin' in the garden?" the druid Tryma smiles at you, thumbs hooked into her overalls. "Don't you know there are snakes out here?"
"Yes, I think I may have seen one or two of 'em, Tryma. Thank you for the reminder," I say a bit dryly. "Now that I've satisfied my curiosity about seeing this part of the Basilica, I suppose I'll continue to walk around and familiarize myself with the place. You're welcome to join me as I do so."
In all the excitement of the day, I have lost track of where I am supposed to be next; so, if Tryma elect to stroll along with me--and I think I'll head to the fountain--I will ask her if she has any knowledge of where I ought to be and when I ought to be there. If I happen to see any of my fellow novices from the Second Sun, I will definitely join up with him or her.
Simeon: Tryma thanks you for the invitation, but she's currently supposed to be redirecting unwelcome animal visitors out of the gardens. Since you said you saw snakes, she's going to hunt around to see if she can locate them and convince them to find a better home. "But, have you seen the library here yet? Those are awful big. I'm not a big reader myself, but I like the feeling of the place, if you know what I mean." Looking at the ground just behind you her eyes light up. "Got one!" she squeaks happily and takes off after another snake.
Quill: After a few minutes waiting in the seating area the dark haired woman enters and greets you, hands held open in welcome, a bemused smile on her lips. "So, here is the first cleric of Usoara brave enough to meet with me. Am I so frightening?" Her flawless light grey skin catches the light of several oil lamps placed around the room. In the soft glow she looks almost angelic. Earlier today you thought her eyes glowed white, but now they are just a rich brown color, warm and inviting. "Come. I have so many questions and things I am curious about. Let us speak freely, with no barriers between us." She guides you through the hall of worshipers and to the southeast corner of the mansion. Through the next door you find a short hall with bathing robes hanging from hooks on the wall. Opening a door to the left, a cloud of steam rolls out. She gestures towards the door where you can see benches in an L shape along two walls and a brazier full of hot coals in the middle of the room. In the corner to the left of the door is a small pool of water with a rocky lip around it. Offering you a robe she arches one eyebrow in invitation. "Shall we speak comfortably together, brave cleric?"
Demoiselle: Friar Bernard compliments you on your fine stitching. The studded leather armor he gives you is obviously second hand, but still in good condition. You manage to finish the work early, not long after the dinner bell has rung. You can either eat the meal he brought you in here or take it with you to the rectory.
Demoiselle thanked him both for the armour and for the food. She carefully carried both to the rectory, looking to see if any of the others had gathered around a common table.
(I'm assuming that glaive class ends with the dinner bell) I find my way back to the rectory to get some food. I'd like to sit by some important-looking people if possible.

Quill's brow furrows for a moment, then his face returns to its calm smile.
"Whatever you wish, Lady Prophetess," he replies.
And that's all I have to say about that.
