Sabynn hurries over and kneels by the dying mercenary. "You didn't come here to slaughter innocents, serving an evil dragon, avenge yourself, tell us about these madmen that brought you here!"She says in a desperate and pleading tone, her hand on his shoulder.
It was a moment that seemed to freeze in time - the sudden act of betrayal by Finn, and the swift response by Sabynn. The sound of the arrow slicing through the air and then the sickening thud as it hit its mark echoed through the air. Finn fell to the ground, lifeless. Swan could feel her heart racing as she rushed over to Sabynn's side, placing a hand on Arso, letting the healing energy flow into him. "Tell us what you know. Don't die for nothing."
Cerau frowns at Arso as he speaks, narrowing her eyes as he smiles at her. But why? She has no memory of this man. As the thoughts swirl through her mind she reaches foe the amulet she wears around her neck. But what if he…
Her eyes widen as Finn stabs Arso. It was so unexpected. About to release a spell to heal the strange mercenary, she pauses for a second wondering if it was the right move when Swan steps forward. She looks down at her feet, knowing this is not the right time to question this man about any personal connections. Maybe it’s better to wait. If he is friendly enough, maybe he will come with us and we can talk when we’re safer.
“You dont have to die at all if you help us.” Realising that her the Sleep spell should have worn off by now she behind her at the man she had restrained.

"Thanks... And if my voice counts, I'd rather skip dying today, so I choose the blue girl's option, thank you." He starts to laugh but sudden jolt of pain quicly reminds him of his wound.
As Cerau takes a step back over the bound man, you can see his eyes are wide open with horror as he apparently witnesed the whole situation.
Arso finaly gets on his knees alone and slowly pulls his two daggers fron the belt, a dagger from his boot, a small throwing axe from behind his belt and puts them infront of Swan. He looks slowly at all of you taxing you with his gaze and then he draws his sword, grabs its blade and ofers the handle first to Swan, taking a brief look at Cerau.
"I herby surrender to you and I am your prisoner..." He speaks slowly.

Cerau sees the man glance her way again in the corner of her vision. She lets her hair fall down over her face, hiding her expression from Arso’s view The blue girl… How dignified.
She reaches down to gently help the bound man sit as if he were injured. She moves with the gentle strength of a healer, “My name is Cerau. The same offer extends to you. We do not wish for any unnecessary violence but we will hold our own if challenged. What do you know of the dragon?” Her voice is calm and and even as she speaks, no sign of the confusion she felt at Arso’s gaze. She makes a quick scan of the man’s body, looking for weapons that may be concealed.
He still has his share of pionty things... Two daggers at his belt, one in his boot. However that's it. He doesn't carry any axes or swords.
He looks carefully at Cerau, then swiches his gaze at Arso who just speaks "Just tell the truth... We are better of with them..."
The bound guy nods and looks back at Cerau.
"The dragon came today. One of them..." He points with his head to the black dressed body "...came back this morning to the camp and they were overly excited... Their leaders apparently told, we will have some support and the town will fall quickly... Leaving the interrogation to her friends, the white-haired elven maiden stands up and moves about to secure the area, then finding a hidden spot where she can keep her silvery eyes out for approaching threats with the help of Y'landrothiel.

Sabynn has found a bush growing next to one of the houses that could be a good place to stay and watch the road leading to a small bridge over the stream and into the town. During all this discussion, Tyto grew increasingly disgusted by the mercenaries. Nature doesn't know good nor evil, and Tyto couldn't blame the wolf for hunting deer, just as he didn't blame the deer for eating acorn. Of course there were some evil beings among the so-called civilised peoples. But even true evil is necessary in order for good to exist - and Tyto knew that most people were neither, acting purely out of self-interest. But these two here had made the decision to make killing their job, without passion, without necessity. To bring suffering to one of their own kind, without even believing in something... this was a stark reminder for what humans were capable of, and it reminded Tyto of something that Weigand used to say.
Rivers and mountains may change - but humans? Never.
Tyto had to step away for a minute, overcome with frustration. These people didn't believe in the cause they were serving. They didn't even know much about it, nor did they care. He turned away, and his gaze fell on the figure with the black coat, which still lay on the floor, seemingly lifeless. He would've been their best lead... Then Tyto had an idea. Maybe it wasn't too late.
Tyto walks over to the body of the person who had the mysterious dagger and investigates it, looking for any signs giving away what organization he serves, or what their goal could be.
On the other bank of the stream, one large figure is accompanied by another one... Both are similar in size... Taking Y'landrothiel's vision for a moment, Sabynn can see the creatures. Those are kobolds but much larger in size then their regular counterparts you have fought while entering the town. Both are talking in barks and growls that Sabynn with surprise understands...
"...should be back by now. I have no idea what takes them so long..."
From behind one of the houses behind those two creatures, there is a large drake coming out and rubs it's snout on one of the kobold's leg, just like a dog.
When Cerau describes Leosin to the mercenaries they just shake their heads.
"We haven't seen anyone who would fit that description, but we didn't interact much with the locals either... I thought people might been warned, but it was just a guess..." says Arso, however the other mercenary interrupts him "No, there was someone that may fit that description!" he says closing his eyes trying to bring the details back.
"This evening, I saw someone like this... Leosin..." he takes a brief look at Cerau to confirm he got the name right "He had a goatee and I remember those pointy ears...but he was inside the camp wearing black robes. He was one of them..." he points one more time to the black dressed body by which Tyto kneels.
As Tyto searches the body, he notices the outfit is a bit peculiar. Cross between rouge's and priest's outfit. Black pants and boots, however the jacket is a bit too long to be comfortable while sneaking up on someone. The person has small pouches by his side. In them you can find 8 gp, two small silver mirrors and 3 vials with clear liquid. The knife itself looks very strange, with it's partially serrated blade spliting into almost two blades one covering the handle. It has five unique red gems set in the blade itself and similar, but smaller at the base of the handle that ends with a fang or a claw.
Sabynn quietly makes her way back to the others. "I'm afraid we might have company any moment now, perhaps we should continue the questioning back in the relative safety of the keep?"The white-haired elven maiden suggests in a soft but firm voice.
Tyto inspected the dagger and the contents of the pouch for a moment, trying to ascertain any signs of enchantments with his Firbolg senses.
OOC: Tyto is using his 'Firbolg magic' trait to cast Detect Magic while looking at the things he has found on the cultist's (?) body. Since the spell lasts up to 10 minutes, Tyto will keep concentrating on it for this duration and possibly notice any other enchantments or spells within 30ft during this time frame.
When he heard Sabynn's voice, he stood up.
"I agree, Sabynn. We've been here too long. We need to move stealthily though - if they see us move towards the tunnel, it will not be secret for much longer."
Then he added "I will also take this one with me." and picked up the body that he just examined over his shoulder. "He belonged to the invaders, perhaps someone in the keep can identify him or his attire."
Offering a tight smile and a nod to Arso as he talked, Cerau considered the information. If these black robed people are aligned with the dragon, why would they give any warning? What could they possibly be after? This seems be be getting more complicated the more we find out.
Snapped from her thoughts by Tyto and Sabynn’s reason she helps the bound mercenary to his feet. Looking to Arso she wonders if they are bringing danger to the doorstep of the governor… “Thank you, Arso. Can we trust you to walk unbound?”

"Yes, let's get back to the keep."Swan says, looking back at Arso. "Governor Nighthill will have a few questions for you. But I'll let him know that you were willing to help us. Your cooperation won't go unnoticed."
As Tyto concentrates on the spell, can see his own, slightly greenish aura, golden-yellow aura around Swan, strong, silvery one of Cerau, and light blue aura around Sabynn... The belongings and the body have no aura, visible... Oh no, wait... There is a very faint one... but it gets dimmer and dimmer slightly red glow around the body. It's almost invisible now, around the fire and within a moment it is gone completely.
Tyto only:
As you concentrate on the spell, you can almost feel something else... The feeling is so faint you might be mistaken. The same way you think you saw something just to your right or left side, but when you turn your head, nothing is there... You get this feeling for the duration of the spell.
The body Tyto picks up weighs about 150 lb's (75 kg) so he barely manages to put it on his shoulder but every step needs to be planned in advance (-20 ft to speed, Disadvantage to Str, Dex and Con based rolls [checks, attacks, and saves]).
OOC: sorry, but your STR score is not high enough.
After Cerau's question he gives a faint smile... "Why should I run from you?" he gives her a little wink.
Cerau only:
Just on the edge of your consciousness you hear faint, female giggle... however moments later everything is quiet again....
Seeing Tyto's struggle to keep the body up, Arso moves in and takes the body from him. "Let me have it... With this on my back, I will not run fast anyway...". Moment later he replies to Swan "I ask of nothing else...".
Tyto moves ahead followed by Cerau, the prisoners and Swan guarding the prisoners. The end of the cavalcade is guarded by Sabynn and scouted by Y'landrothiel.
As you move towards the tunnel entrance, Swan watches the prisoners. She keeps her spear ready, tip always pointing to the back of the mercenaries however she keeps here eyes on the surrounding area frequently.
Swan only:
As you see them, Arso, who is now carrying the body and has some problems with the darkness all around, moves considerably slower... You can see he is getting tired, however you manage to notice one other thing... He gives Cerau a lot more looks than to anyone else... He is clearly interested in her...
Sabyn only:
As you move ahead from the crossroads and to the stream, you can see there is a group of creatures gathering where you saw the two kobolds talking. You wanted to try and see some details, but as you moved out, the distance was too great. What you managed to see is three kobolds went cautiously down the road, over the wooden bridge to the place where you stood...They move slowly so when they reach the crossroads, you will be long gone.
You move cautiously through the village. Undisturbed and without any incident, you manage to reach the tunnel entrance few minutes later.
You all enter the tunnel entrance and close the gate. Few minutes later you reach the door to the basement and give the knock. Arso drops the body to the ground. He is very tired, and sweat is covering his now red face.
Behind the door you hear some movement. Minute or two later, you can hear muffled voice: "Who's there?"
"It is Sabynn and the others that Governor Nighthill sent to gather intelligence about the attack, let us in quickly before the enemy discovers this secret entrance."Sabynn says with urgency in her tone, letting Y'landrothiel be vigilant for any threats coming their way.
A moment later with a loud creek the door open. Behind it in the basement, you can see two tower shields blocking the entrance - one is held by Escobert the Red, the other by some other dwarven guard. Just above there are two other guards holding heavy crossbows aimed at whoever would date to trick the defenders...
"It's alright lads... T'is our scouting party..."says Escobert lowering his axe. To your relief, the other guards lower their crossbows as well... In such a closed space, these would be awfully deadly...
"Come in... I see you have someone with you. Sergeant, take them to the keep and guardthem!" he gives an order to a tall men behind him. "Not bad... Not bad at all... " he says clearly impressed you brought two prisoners, however once he sees Tyto with the dead body, he opens his eyes and asks surprised "Is that a... dead man? What do we need him for?"

As they reach the gate and Arso puts down the body, Cerau stops beside him. If I don't ask him now, then I might never get the chance to talk to him again. He seems to have travelled far, what if we met back home and I forgot. What if he knows my father...?
"Why do you look at me like that?" She whispers, almost under her breath, suspecting that he would be listening for her voice as much as he had been keeping her in his eye-line. Better to let him fill in the gaps than to put words into his mouth. She draws a breathe of the cold underground air, hoping that he answers her before the governor takes him.
