Drexium adds, "It would seem you are correct. We are under prepared and ill-suited for this task. On the bright side we have opportunity to maybe help ourselves up ahead at that village. Let's get moving."
Drexium moves ahead near the front even without a magical weapon.

As you head towards the settlement, all seems calm and good - minus the heat. A signpost heralds your entrance “Welcome to Marais d’Tarascon, founded by the Tarascon family.” The settlement holds various buildings and homesteads, and cobblestone streets compared to the dirt road you came from. Men and women move freely, and you overhear a conversation spoken by a man and woman with odd (Cajun French) accents as they walk down the street. “That gumbo you made last night was great, Jacque, it had the perfect amount of spice! And don’t even get me started on the Jambalaya you served after it!”
Various shop owners can be seen outside of their buildings, offering spices, homegrown tobacco, food, or other goods. A man can be seen repairing a broken window at a house you walk by. He seems dedicated to the job, as he doesn’t seem to be breaking a sweat. In this place, all seems to be quaint and good.
Calna turns to Tara "Thanks for having my back, back there" She looks at the ground as she says this next part "I guess I don't really know what I'm doing out there...." She then turns to Lektra "Maybe we can find some time in this town so I can learn a few of your moves" Calna, with her sword safely tucked away, practices slashing her sword down the street until she sees the man working on the window. She quickly runs up and steps in "You appear to have the glass upside, sir." She kindly takes it out of his hands and begins installing it for him "If you look here you can see that this mark shows it to be on the bottom. This will make it sturdy and protect you against any weather. May I ask what caused it to break?" You can see that Calna looks focused as she gets in her groove of building. She knows they are on a mission but after what she went through... she needs this confidence boost. She may not be able to fight but she will show the group just how helpful she can be.
When she's done installing the window, she turns to the group and gives them the What do ya think? look with a big grin and pointing to it over her shoulder with her thumb. Clearly proud of the work she did, she hopes they can see the craftsmanship as well.
As you go to take the glass out of the man’s hands, he moves it away from you without a word. In fact, he refuses to say a word. Not answering any question. An older woman comes out of the house, smiling at Calna. “Now you don’t mind Francois there, honey. He’s just real quiet. Can I invite you in for a bit of homemade sweet tea?”
As a man from Martira Bay where all kinds of vices are common, the idyllic scene before him seems disturbing. Something is off here. I should like this, but I don't. There is darkness in everyone and what is going on with this mute man. Are people here too happy. Well lets see what happens next."Yes that window has been repaired quite nicely"says Wex with a thin smile on his face.
The old woman looks to the man now identified as Francois. “Now you let this sweet girl fix that window. You’ll have other jobs to do, son.” He does as he is told and hands the window over to Calna without a word, and she proceeds to fix the window finely.
"Oh, how unfortunate. We are new arrivals to this village. So can you tell us where the nearest Inn maybe located"says Wex with touch of honey in his tone.
Calna realizing that Francios is mute despite trying to communicate with him, she suddenly sinks. Feeling bad as she tried to lend her knowledge and he didn't understand. She then tries to mime the actions she spoke earlier to Francios. The whole time she looks ridiculous but as soon as she is done, she feels better in the hopes that she was able to help. Aware that everyone feels slightly off in this new land and herself picking up on it too but tries to push it aside in this moment.
(Wowwwwwww 😂😂) Tara frowns. “Umm, should I take the lead? Just in case..?”
(Hey, Lektra is in it for Lektra and Lektra alone. At this point anyway lol)
Wex will just begin walking to the closest settlement "Sure Tara if you want to, but I rather just get going"
Drexium adds, "It would seem you are correct. We are under prepared and ill-suited for this task. On the bright side we have opportunity to maybe help ourselves up ahead at that village. Let's get moving."
Drexium moves ahead near the front even without a magical weapon.

Heiric will wait to resume his spot behind the rest, certainly doesn't want to be the first walking into civilization.

The old woman looks to the man now identified as Francois. “Now you let this sweet girl fix that window. You’ll have other jobs to do, son.” He does as he is told and hands the window over to Calna without a word, and she proceeds to fix the window finely.
Wex approaches the old women "Why is Francios mute. Was he injured?"
“Oh yes, honey. He was born that way. He’s a good boy though. One of my best children.”
"Oh, how unfortunate. We are new arrivals to this village. So can you tell us where the nearest Inn maybe located" says Wex with touch of honey in his tone.
“Go right down the road, sugar. Innkeeper Bascolm at the Full Moon Inn will take care of you.”
Calna realizing that Francios is mute despite trying to communicate with him, she suddenly sinks. Feeling bad as she tried to lend her knowledge and he didn't understand. Wex gives the old women a curt bow. Back with his companions "There is an Inn down the road that we can check and figure out what we should do next"
(Do any of these townsfolk have weapons of any sort with them? Or any other items of note that the rogues in the group might notice)
"Did they happen to mention anything else in town? A shop or library or place of records? Possibly Tara's temple?"
“I’m not from here.” Tara chimes in. “I’m from Richemulot.”
The townsfolk don’t carry any weapons, at least openly.
(Happy 200th post)
The woman reaches into a satchel at her side and flicks a gold coin to Calna. “For the help, dear. Buy yourself some gumbo!”
"I mean is there a temple of Ezra here?"
