"He was dead anyway. I just provided a merciful one compared to what would have happened if I didn't. Look around you. This place is different somehow. Not real but real. Here we must do what must be done to survive. We must all do things we normally wouldn't do to survive. I am connected to my god still but I am unable to call on them. There must be a connection. I need time to figure this out. You must do what you must do also. Information is power. Learn as you go. Bury your emotions the one's that hold you back."
Louder he says, "Steel yourself and be brave."

Heiric keeps his head down and checks all the edges of his attire to make sure his bones are covered up, no need to draw attention to that fact about him in the open streets. He tries to best judge how far back to be from the group so that he can hear the conversation while trying to make it not too blunty obvious they are all traveling together as groups also attract attention.
Lesqwyn makes sure the rabbit leg is placed carefully away in her pack. Once outside, she smiles briefly at the bright sunlight, almost as though having expected something different. She had started to look up, and around at their surroundings, but as soon as the young woman suggests moving along, she does. Heading out into the street, she hopes others are following along. Speaking softly, she talks to whoever is at hand. "Does anyone know where we are exactly? Or how we locate this Shroud?"
“The Shroud is all around - on the edges of cities, rivers, mountain ranges.. everywhere. Just outside of Il Aluk we’ll find it - and we’ll use it to take you to Souragne.” The woman says.
"Oh." Lesqwyn seems a bit surprised that the Kargat guard with the dark hair was still with them. "This means you are coming with us? Or just helping to get us to Souragne?"
As Calna enters the sunlight she is pleased with a warm comfort and the once visible tension starts to melt away.
After talking to Drexium, she can be sign walking with her hands in the pockets of her overalls, head and chest held high. She is still uncomfortable but trying to take what Drexium said at heart by trying to protrude confidence. Hoping somewhere along the way she might just find it....
You are led down the cobblestone streets past countless people inside or outside of various buildings. The woman keeps a hand on her sword hilt - the hand is noticeably clawed like Baron’s. Everyone, seeing this, knows to stay away apparently. Coming to the edge of Il Aluk, you see beautiful green grass beyond the last of the cobblestone buildings. A river full of clear water flows by the dirt road leading to and from the city. A forest nearby has the sounds of animals within it - birds, foxes, and deer.. but more sinister in front of you is a rolling, swirling wall of Mist. The woman steps up to it - but… noticeably not to close. “Step forward and present the Talisman, girl.” She looks to Lesqwyn.
Lesqwyn looks from the thick swirling Mist then down into her pack which she has unslung. "I... yes. Let me just..." She fumbles around, longer than would seem typical, then pulls out the rabbit leg. She takes a deep breath, still not looking up. "Just hold it up, right?"
She seems to try holding the leg up while keeping her gaze averted. With almost infintessimally small steps she moves in the direction of the Mist. More or less that is, as she isn't looking at all where she's going.
Again Lesqwyn takes a deep breath, then turns to look into the Mist. She looks terrified as she shakily lifts the rabbit leg. "Uh... Saa... umm... sow... umm... Souragne?"
The Mists part, that swirling emptiness moves suddenly - parting to reveal a sea of grey that you can walk through. Inside you see nothing but grey emptiness enshrouded by swirling Mist. The woman pats Lesqwyn’s back, smirking. “You’ll get used to it, girl.”
Lektra shrugs slightly, having not been entirely certain the rabbit foot would work. Seeing that it dies she walks calmly towards the pocket in the mists.
Alright, I can do this! Calna thinks to her self and she shakes out her arms, fixes her overalls and walks (semi....)confidently towards the grey area. Remember what dad would say "In order for the structure to stay strong, you must build yourself a strong base." This is your strong and brave base. Show em what a little halfling like yourself is truly made of. Plus remember what Drexium said... Steel yourself anddddddd lose the emotions. A look of concentration appears on her face as her brows burrow and her lips form a sideways pout. She leans forward and begins taking her stride. "Well, guess we better go see what this is about..." Calna realizing how quickly she is approaching makes one more quick prayer up to whatever deity may be up there... Well, if you're real... there's no time like now to make your presence known. Please protect us.
Lesqwyn gives the dark-haired woman a brief grin. "You sure don't need someone to help you here? I'd be glad to help you." She then laughs weakly at her 'joke', now turning to face the grey mist. "I don't like this," she murmurs very softly, but steps forward, looking even paler than usual.
Lesqwyn is given a response to her joke in the form of the woman walking away and laughing. “Good luck! Hope you lot make it back!”
As you all step into the Mists - you immediately notice something about the area around you seems intensely… wrong. The air is thick, you steps through the grey wisps make no noise, and… you hear things….
Screams in the distance, the tearing of flesh, cries for help, loud prayers to deities you’ve never heard of. But something in you tells you to keep walking, keep moving. But do you listen to the inner voice?
As Calna hears the screams her stride quickly slows. Her eyes go wide and she takes a big gulp. Suddenly she realizes the group has progressed without her. She quickly shuffles forward with her arms looser at her sides keeping her eyes on the road in front of her, purposefully avoiding looking to the side and ignoring her peripheral vision for fear of what might be there. She is now repeating the mantra "Steel yourself and lose the emotions" softly to herself as she moves along with the group.
As the mists envelope the group and the sounds start drifting to Lektra, her wings flare out the tiniest bit and her hand comes to rest on the hilt of her rapier, ready to take flight and draw her weapon quickly, if needs be. She steals herself against the terrible noises and continues forward.

Drexium whispers to Calna,

“I’m leading you to the Shroud then I’m going back. Baron has need of me elsewhere.” The young woman answers.

Drexium nods, "You got this Calna. Good job everyone. Let's get going then."
Drexium moves in with everyone. Drexium will be near the front. Alert and head on a swivel.
"We are not in wherever we came from anymore. Steady as she goes folks."
