Neil your booming blade slams into the Bugbear and it stumbles to one knee for the moment. Out in the fog your tentacle of the deep swipes out in vain as the Hobgoblin remains hidden.
Diana you stab out into the fog blindly. Once, then twice, but you fail to find your mark.
Carl your eldritch blast glances across the Bugbears shoulder as it clambers back to its feet but does no real damage.
Tharnak your arrow plunges into the Bugbear and it roars in anger. (A 9 does not hide you) It turns and charges in your direction taking a wild sweep from out of the fog (You have half cover +2 AC) Attack: 9 Damage: 14 Pain tears through the Bugbear as the energy of the booming blade is released into it. It looks rough!
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Aedel goes backward to ensure he is far from the bugbear, but still in range. He releases an arrow with hit 13 and 5 damage. He is attempting to distract the bugbear so the more powerful ones get a better chance (if the bugbear survives this hit).
As the bugbear rages, Aedel shouts something elvish (spoiler below) and draws his bow, quickly firing a deadly arrow toward the bugbear, causing it to let out a loud yelp as it collapses to the ground. As the bugbear falls down it tries to dive at Aedel but is too weak to jump and drops his weapon. As the bugbear falls to the ground, Aedel gives it a slight bow and wishes it a "good slumber".
You hear dark mutterings in the fog and the magically inclined amongst you feel a sharp burst of power. (Any spell caster can roll for Arcana to discover what happened).
The fog begins to fade and to your frustration the Hobgoblin has vanished, leaving only a pool of her dark blood on the stone floor.
Combat is over and you are victorious again. You all stand in the room or in the doorway. There is a large cluttered table in the centre of the room. Two dead Bugbears and a dead Dwarf lie on the floor at your feet. A heavy iron bound chest sits at the back of the room-with a large padlock holding it closed.
Diana roll for perception with advantage this time.
Aedel you sense that a spell was cast but can't quite identify its type.
You move to the dead dwarf and examine his wounds. The poor fellow is a patchwork of bruises and gashes and it is unclear which of them finally took the poor souls life. It was an unpleasant end.
Sinju you easily spot and retrieve your dagger. Moving to the chest you see that is well made and sturdy. The lock is one of heavy iron. You do notice a small wire running from it into the lid. Looks like it is trapped!
Sinju you glance over the table and see little of value. A scattering of around 12 copper coins, some used tin plates and a small pile of slates with harsh goblin writing etched into them.
Neil you recognise the spell used as Dimension Door. You have seen it used on numerous occasions on your travels and recognise the pin prick feeling on the back of your neck caused by the opening of a localised dimensional rift. The Hobgoblin could be anywhere by now.

Also, if you speak elvish he said this:
"You've lived long enough, Bugbear!"

So does this mean no attack of Oppurtunity for Sinju?
Maybe not? Aedel will buy you a pound of fudge (if he lives 1000's of years waiting for it to be invented, idk what timeline we are in)

You may stamp on the corpse as a free action :D

This time, stay hibernating you oversized fur rug!

Sinju is gonna go look for his silvered daggar, and then look at the iron bound chest to see if there was anything unusual about it

Sinju says out loud, "Hey, you guys, there is a wire leading into this chest. Probably best not the open it."
Sinju will then take a look at the cluttered table in the center of the room

Neil will try to figure out what the Hobgoblin did...
Arcana: 22 (rolled in game log because the forum roller is stupid and didn't work the first time I tried to roll it)
Unhappy that the market got rid of individual purchases for one-off subclasses, magic items, and monsters?

Aedel starts playing the lute, while making the illusion of birds flying around the room for a minute. (minor illusion cantrip)

After a minute, Aedel speaks. "We need to be careful now. The hobgoblin ran away or something... and could warn others."

Tharnak begins to pick up any arrows he can find that aren’t broken.
(RAW says that after a fight, you can spend a minute searching to find up to half of the arrows you shot. If I remember right, I shot six?)
