"Could it be a werehouse? You know someone who was bitten by a house and now turns into a house?"
Just after Gan-Re says that, Valrieth makes an odd sputtering sound and turns away from Gan-Re quickly. You can see her body kind of shaking, and it sounds like she's wheezing, but she waves away your concern. She gasps and says, "I...uh...I think that...I may have...um...inhaled a gnat." She finally turns back around, wiping tears away from her eyes and panting. She resolutely avoids looking at Gan-Re and says, "Sorry! Sorry. I'm OK now. No. I don't think that we need to worry about werehouses. Just be careful and be ready to fly out of there if anything attacks."
Val stops about 75 feet away from the house with Finley. As Gan-Re flies up to the house, she gets out her shield and casts Produce Flame, holding the flame ready to throw. (She cannot hit the house from this distance, but if Gan-Re flees from the house, she wants to be ready to slow down anything that's following him. And if Gan-Re gets trapped at the house, she could at least get within range for her archer starry form's attack in one round despite the mud.)
As Gan-Re makes it to the door of the house, Finley hears Val giggle. She glances at him, smiling, and says, "Werehouses!"
Gan-Re decides not to be subtle. He goes to the door, he doesn’t knock in case that would be considered an attack, and says "Hello house. Nice to meet you. I'm Gan-Re."
You hear Valrieth call out from where she's standing, "Try knocking!"
"Hello good lady I am Gan-Re and we" points to the other two "are the Trio. Doers of mighty deeds and finders of lost truffles. We were looking for a place to rest and saw your lovely house. Are you Baba Yaga? My book doesn't have any pictures in it you see."

When the door opens, and the woman does not immediately attack Gan-Re, Valrieth starts to approach the house. Without dashing, it'll take them 5 or 6 rounds to get to the door.
The elder lady give Gan-re a crooked smile "No I am not Baba Yaga" She eyes the trio up and down as if measuring them with her eyes. "Yes you can come with your friends and rest" she stands back to allow everyone to come in.
If you enter you smell the scent herbs and strong chemical scent in the air. Like metallic taste to the air.
Finally making it to the house, Valrieth wipes the mud off of her feet and thanks the lady for her hospitality before she goes inside. She wrinkles her nose at the strong scent.
(Not all strong scents are bad. Val has proficiency in medicine, arcana, nature, and the herbalism kit. Does she recognize these smells?)
Val would know these are the scents of an alchemist.
The interior is pristine and you are standing a cozy living room with stairs in the back that leads to a second floor.
"My name is Tsu Harabax. Welcome to my home. Now if you are looking for rest that can be arranged if your willing to be my guinea pigs for some of my new concoctions"

Valrieth says politely but firmly, "Thank you! Your home seems cozy, and we'd all be glad of a peaceful and dry place to rest, but you'll forgive us if we ask more questions before we accept your offer. Since we arrived in Hither, we've suffered through a robbery, mortal danger, and sudden floods. Just today, we put an end to the bandit Agdon Longscarf and some of his gang."
Val asks, "What concoctions have you brewed up, and could they be dangerous to our health or freedom?"

Gan-Re steps forward "Well what is life without some risks. We need rest and I am quite durable. Therefore I will be your test subject if you let me and my friends rest"
