I think Mr. WItch and Mr. Light knows the answer, but they are being tight lipped.  I agree with Burly's plan and no do not touch the items in the lost property wagon, too unpredictable. I can offer a distraction when I perform with Candlefoot and Palasha" says Dirlagraun

Gan-Re looks aghast and barely manages to keep his anger under control ‘A missing child and they do nothing! This will not stand. Do not worry, good Dirlagraun. If you can create a distraction then we can retrive the watch and get to the bottom of these matters. Hopefully you will soon be reunited with your son.’

Gan-Re turns to Hisashi and says ‘I know it is a lot to ask, but I cannot stand by while a child is missing. Will you give me your cake so that I may become invisible and attempt to take the watch. Once I have taken the watch then I will keep it safe while you all bargain with Witch and Light for information for the return of the Watch.’

“That would be perfect Madam Dirlagraun! And if Ms. Hisashi is so grateful ta give it to ye ah would like it if ye can drop it ta me near th’ back o’ th’ crowd and the portable hole we can make it disappear until we need it fer the negotiations. If ye’ll lemme borrow it temporarily of course.” Finley adds.

Gan-Re gives Finley the portable hole. Finley already has the flying Pixie Dust from earlier.

Hisashi gives Gan the cupcake. "I hope it's tasty and useful mhm... I can be back up if needed or get a escape route ready... if needed"

‘Thank you Lady Hisashi. I am not one for plans and I have no better idea than to hide, with the assistance of the invisibility, and trust to luck and the gods that I can retrieve the watch while everyone is distracted and get it back to Finley to store in the hole.  Any assistance or better plans would be more than welcome. However poor my chances are, I must try, as a child is in danger.’

Palasha, Candlefoot, and Dirlagraun excuse themselves as they need to prepare for the big event. They promise that if the need arises they will make a distraction.

Gan-Re nodes his head and says 'That's a good plan. I'm good at throwing things, do you have something I could use to easily attach the Watch to one of my Javelins? Should we have a meeting point in case we get separated? Like where we saw the Pug?'

Gan-Re thinks for a minute and says 'Should we have a group name for a Heist like this? Let's see, Finley is a Dwarf, Val is a Druid, Lady Hisashi is a Dragon and I Don't know about stuff. Maybe we should be the D-Team. Then if people have an easy problem that basically anyone could help with, they can call on the D-Team. Having a name would make us much easier to find.'

She smiles and laughs merrily, at the party's cooperation.  Hopping a bit in place with her hands clasped over her chest.  She reaches out her hands to the others, saying, "Oh!  I'm so happy that the Fates brought us together.  You're all so generous and good."

Val's ears droop slightly, and she looks worried, "What if it's very crowded?  Are you sure that you'll have room to open the Portable Cave without anyone falling in?  Do you think that you'll need to take it outside somewhere to have enough space to open it?" 

Val raises the idea of attaching a little gold bauble on a chain so that she or Hisashi could use it as a decoy in case they need to misdirect the carnival enforcers while Gan-Re gets away?  Maybe Finley could make something, or she could look in the Lost and Found to see if there's anything that looks similar, at least from a distance? 

Or should she just focus on using Shape Water and Entangle to slow down pursuers if the plan doesn't go well?

"If we could find Burly before the show, maybe I could ask him to put a big barrel of water nearby.  I'm practiced at manipulating fire and water, and that would help in case I need to create a distraction."

Valrieth doesn't seem to know anything about pocket dimensions or the dangers of piercing them (Arcana 5 in game log), but she says, "Please avoid using any weapon, like a javelin, Gan-Re.  I'm sure that you're very good and accurate with them, but what if someone got in the way at the last moment?  You wouldn't want to hurt another carnival-goer by mistake!"

"The Portable Cave is quite big: could you just fly right inside, set down the watch, and then fly out?  That way, we don't risk breaking the watch by dropping it, and no one will see the watch falling from the air!  Oh!  But remember that you'll be invisible.  After you've put the watch in the Portal Cave and flown back out of it, you'll need to tell Finley that you're 'all clear.'  We wouldn't want to trap you inside the Portable Cave when Finley folds it back up!"

Val agrees, "That's a great idea about the meeting point, Gan-Re!  If we get lost and separated, we can try to meet up back at the Pixie Kingdom.  And if we pull off the perfect heist, and Mr. Witch doesn't even realize that the watch is missing, we can just gather together in the Big Top tent.  We can pick a meeting spot once we see the inside."

Val asks Finley, "Do we have a back-up plan?  What do we do if Gan-Re is caught somehow before he can steal the watch?  Or before he flies away with it?  Should we try to get Hisa close to Mr.Witch, too?  That way, if Gan-Re somehow fails to steal the watch, he could try to grapple with Mr. Witch and hold him still.  When Hisa sees Gan-Re appear, should could try to run up and take the watch.  Or Hisa and I could try some other way to distract Mr. Witch while Gan-Re tries something less subtle, just breaking the watch chain either with his talons or his axe."

Regarding the team name, Val says, "D-Team sounds like a bunch of boys playing a sport.  Icky!  Since we're trying to help the carnival and find the ruler of Prismeer, we could call ourselves the 'Friends of the Feywild.'  Or, since we now know that children have gone missing, maybe we should just call ourselves 'The Rescuers'?"

(OOC: I think that Val is all caught up.  Once they resolve these questions, and maybe make a decoy "watch", she's ready to head to the Big Top.) 

When they get close to the Big Top, Valrieth looks for Burly Perception 18.  If she can find him, she'll ask whether he can put a big open-topped barrel or trough full of water just in the main tent entrance.  The bigger, the better!  It would be ideal if she had an easy way to spill all of the water on the ground quickly.  For example, if it's a big open-topped barrel, could they set it on a wide plank with a fulcrum so that the party has enough leverage to tip over the barrel?  (Val wants to be able to flood the ground by the entrance briefly just in case she needs to make an ice sheet to slow down pursuers.)

(OOC: As the owner of a 'rain barrel', Ben_Evolent is keenly aware that a 60-gallon barrel of water weighs ~500 pounds!  It's also enough water to cover a 10'x10' square in about 1 inch of water.)

“I can hang by da back entrance near Mr. Witch and if Gan can’t get to the watch I can try to sneak up and snatch it. If I by there I can hold da fake one. Even if dey catch me and you all get free, mhm. Last resort doe.”

Gan-Re nods along and pretends that he has understood everything said 'Ah an excellent plan. So if I fail to be subtle then I will do my best to fail in a spectacular way and break the chain or maybe the clothes it is attached to, if nothing else that will leave an opening for Lady Hasahi. Once we have the watch, who should negotiate with Witch and Light to obtain information on the missing child. Can we get our new friends to assist with that as well?'

He says to Val in a whisper 'I have heard stories of these Rescuers fighting mighty crocodiles and flying all the way to Osse, I would not want to get on their bad side by using their name as they sound formidable.' 

Val does not see Burly who is probably in the staff area helping the performers as per his job.

People have already start filing in to the Big Top Tent excitedly talking about their day as the party comes near. The party sees The roof of this tent reaches toward the night sky in three swooping peaks topped with spinning gold stars. Painted wooden panels on the tent walls whirl with colorful motion, displaying vibrant circus performances. The sound of music and laughter drifts out through the canvas door.

Carnival barkers can be heard saying "Big Top Extravaganza starting soon. Come join us and be ready to be delighted"

No ticket punch is needed and anyone can walk in and take a seat .

The sun has already set and it is now night time with the moon and stars shining overhead.

The party can go find a rain barrel if they would still like to move one over to near the entrance.

With Val's perception she does see a rain barrel next to a stall near the Big Top Tent.
