Hisashi legitimately on the verge on a panic attack during the entire conversation let’s out a prolonged sigh once the negotiations seem to be coming to a close “wait wait… da portal is one way? How we get back? Do we get back?”
she thinks real hard before continuing “and da oven people’s? Are Dey super strong? Why don’t you stop dem Hmm?”
Valrieth laughs, reaching out her hand to "shake" on the deal with Misters Light and Witch, "So, we have an agreement? If we bring you your watch, you will provide us safe passage to the Fey Crossing and into Prismeer."
Val looks to Finley, "So...do you and Gan-Re want to go...um...find the kenku and retrieve the watch? Hisa and I can stay here as a surety. While we wait, maybe Misters Light and Witch could tell us more about the Hourglass Coven and about Prismeer itself."
If there's time, Val would like to ask them:
"How many members does this 'coven' have?"
"Who are the members of the Hourglass Coven? Are they simply wizards? Or some sort of fey? Or...?"
"Do you have some way of communicating with the coven?"
"You said that the carnival would be gone if you defied the coven. Do you have some deal with them? Or do they have some power over the carnival?"
"We know that Dirlagraun's son, Star, is missing. We were told that there were other children missing. Do you know how many children we're looking for?"
"We have never been to the Feywild. What advice or warning would you give to a traveler from Faerun who is going to the Prismeer for the first time? What can we expect to find there?"
"One of our goals is to find Zybilna and ensure that she is OK. Could you tell us anything about the last time you saw her or how the carnival went from dealing with Zybilna to dealing with the Coven?"
Finally...Val is hoping that they don't have to head to the Prismeer at midnight: "It has been a long day, and it is late. Is there somewhere where we could rest safely tonight before heading to Prismeer tomorrow morning?"
"Aye, we ken do tha'." Finley nods for Gan-Re to come with him and if they're allowed to leave as soon as they get outside he let's out a deep sigh of relief and helps retrieve the watch, "Let's give it a moment afore we go back in, so we dunnae give too much away, aye?"

Valrieth turns to face Hisa and says gently, "Remember a few days ago, back in Liam's Hold when we accepted this quest from Madryck Roslof? He told us the same thing. Then she takes Hisa's clawed hands in her own, smiles, and says, "And if we do get stuck in Prismeer for a time, at least we'll be there with friends! It'll be quite an adventure! Just imagine the stories you'll be able to bring back to your clan some day!"
After they are out of earshot of Witch and Light Gan-Re says to Finley ‘This Coven may scare Witch and Light but I’m sure that we will be OK. Why, one look at us and they will probably hand over all their prisoners. Or maybe I could be sneaky again, like with the watch. We will save a missing child and the nice Fey lady and become great heros that our ancestors would be proud of.’

"1. We are not an Inn and we plan to close the carnival early now. As soon as you lot leave we are closing the carnival.
"Oh! I'm sorry to hear that," Valrieth says, scrunching her brow and thinking. "Then I guess we'll just have to set up camp once we get to Prismeer."
2. There are 3 hags in the coven. Bavlorna Brightstraw, Endelyn Moongrave, and Skabatha Nightshade
Val takes out her notebook and writes down the names.
3. No we do not keep track of those who are missing
Val is a little shocked at that. She's glad that Gan-Re isn't here: if he heard that, he might fly into a rage again.
4. We have never step foot into Prismeer. We come from the shadowfell.
5. We have not seen Zybilna in over a century. I don't know what happened only that the coven is in charge now.
6. No we do not converse with the coven though They take any who do not punch their tickets or sneak into the carnival without a ticket.
"Thank the lucky stars that we all followed the rules and got our tickets punched for each ride then!", Val says cheerily. "But wait -- didn't you say that you didn't 'dare to defy the Coven?' How do you even know what would count as defiance if you do not communicate with them? What bargain have you made with this Coven?" She gives the two elves a piercing look and pays close attention to this response (Insight19).
Her questions answered, Val looks back to the Big Top entrance to see whether Finley and Gan-Re have returned. She hopes that the conversation has distracted them from trying to have Finley or Gan-Re followed, but she suspects that they'll start to get impatient if they don't get the watch back soon.
"Our bargain is that we tolerate there doings as long as the carnival is able to continue on. This bargain was made the day they showed up in the carnival. Since then I have not seen them. Since your heading into Prismeer you can speak with them yourselves" says Mr. Witch as he impatiently waits for his watch.
Mr. Witch looks like he is about to pop a blood vessel.
He then summons a fairy "We are closing now. Get all the carnival goers out of carnival now." The fairy flies off and there is a bit of a hubbub from the carnival goers, but they all start leaving. Carnival rides begin to close up and the lights are turned off.

Valrieth tries not to look too frightened at the prospect of meeting a coven of hags. She tries to mollify Mr. Witch, "Well, thank you so much! You've been veryhelpful. I'm sure that our friends will be back any moment with the watch. Ah! Here they come now!"
Val scribbles a note on a slip of paper, wishing that happy stars bless Candlefoot and Palasha's wedding. She writes that the party is going to Prismeer to find Zybilna and to rescue Star and the other missing children, and she asks that they let Dirlagraun know. She folds it closed and hands it to Mr. Light. "Could you please give this note to Candlefoot and Palasha? I don't think that we'll have time to say a proper good-bye and wish them well on their wedding."
Val puts away her notebook and pen and puts her pack back on. She takes Hisa's hand and gives Finley and Gan-Re a satisfied nod as they return. "We're all ready to go when you are. It sounds like they'll send us to Prismeer tonight, as soon as they have the watch."
Gan-Re holds up the watch and says honestly ‘We have returned with the watch, it was even less trouble than the last time we dealt with the Kenku. Now show us to the portal’

Mr. Witch roughly takes the watch from Gan-re. There is a palpable sense of relief between Mr. Witch and Mr. Light
Mr. Light takes the note offered by Val
They then gesture everyone to follow them to the Hall of Illusions where Candelfoot is busy closing the attraction. He looks at the party with a what is going on look.
Mr. Witch does not stop for pleasantries and heads into the Hall of Illusions. As Witch and Light move through the Hall of Illusions, their reflections in the mirrors show them as gloomy shadar-kai children, with your own youthful reflections following behind. Soon, they call you to a halt. The mirrors now reflect everyone’s true age. Mister Witch addresses you in a hushed tone. “Everything you seek and more lies beyond this mirror. If you mean to step through, then stand in front of the glass and repeat this rhyme: Hither, thither, here and there; wander yonder, show me where.”

As they head into the Hall of Illusions, Val remembers the cold touch of the little mirror girl with the pig mask. She looks at the mirrors suspiciously and murmurs, "This creepy place again!"
