"Hmm, aye so then let us figure out how ta get into the locked cupboard 'afore we head back to th' lady o' th' house then. We deserve at least a look-see at it fer almost dyin' down here." Finley says as he stands up as well. "Go ahead and take a sample o' it, carefully mind ye, worse come to worse we ken smash it over someone nasties head, aye?" He grins, "let's get to work so we ken see what else we gotta do to get his heart."
"Well," Valrieth says uncertainly, "maybe we should leave the cupboard until after we've gotten Octavian's heart back? The door to that room squeaks so loudly that Bavlorna heard it last time, and I don't want to make her angry. Especially not now when I'm so tired! And we may still need her help to get Octavian's heart back."
As above, Val will try to cut / scrape / scoop some of the gelatinous cube into a couple of our glass bottles before they go upstairs.
If Finley really wants to try the cupboard (in B5) again, she'll reluctantly go along. Octavian would need to yank the door to B5 open, and I think that we found that the cupboard locked earlier. Therefore, Finley would need to pick the lock. Val can cast guidance to help them with those skill checks, and she can light up B5 (if it doesn't have windows) with produce flame. But they'll need to hurry because as soon as the door squeaks, Bavlorna may come downstairs to check on them.
If Finley decides to skip the cupboard for now, then he and Val can lead the group back up to Bavlorna's tea room (B10) to talk to Bavlorna (assuming that she's still in that room).
Octavian opens the door and there is a squeak, but there are no sounds of footsteps like the one you heard earlier.
A large cupboard stands alone in this dark room. Fine scrollwork frames the cupboard’s two doors, which are bridged by a circular panel of dark wood. The panel is inlaid with a silver hourglass sigil.
"If th' door is still open we ken check the cabinet out, ah cannae remember if it were closed. Ah'd like to stick it to her anyway that ah can without it bein' too open, since ye know she's most likely th' cause of our friends disappearance."Finley says, "let's go see on our way up, aye?"

Yes, Valrieth will support Finley with guidance. (She's not currently using her concentration for anything else.)
Val asks, "Does that wooden panel turn? I mean, that's the most natural thing to do with an hourglass, right? Turn it over?"
"Hmm, well what else do ye do with an hourglass than turn it over?"Finley asks aloud, to no one in particular and so he tries to turn the hourglass upside down. "If this dunnae work, ah'm at a loss for th' moment."

The hourglass if rotated over and the sands begin falling. The cabinet is now unlocked.
The inside of the cupboard is divided into rows of small compartments, each one stuffed with pouches or other tiny containers. One of the containers is a teacup-sized ceramic cauldron, inside which is a scrap of paper with the word “spittlespew” written on it in Common
Bavlorna keeps various mementos and trinkets in the cupboard, including:
Loose buttons of various shapes, colors, and materials
Stray cutlery (all from different sets)
Unopened love letters (not written or addressed to Bavlorna, but to long-dead people with whom Bavlorna has had dealings)
"Fascinating," Valrieth says as the sands in the hourglass sigil appear to fall. When they find the little ceramic cauldron with the scrap of paper, she says, "Hm. I wonder what that means. Another password, like balderdash?" She takes out her notebook and carefully records the word and notes where they found it.
Leaving Vansel and maybe Octavian to keep watch in the main room (B1) and warn them if anyone is coming down the stairs, Valrieth spends 10 minutes to cast detect magic as a ritual. Then she examines the cupboard itself and the items in the cupboard's compartments, especially focusing on the ceramic cauldron, the horseshoe, and the teacup to see whether any of them are magical.
Finley looks over her shoulder, "Spittlespew? What kinda password or name or gibberish is tha'." He thinks for a moment, "Ah guess balderdash was kinda odd as well, really thought there'd be somethin' in here worth our time. It seems our host loves to collect practically everythin' she can get 'er mitts on. Any o' it magical perchance?"

It seems our host loves to collect practically everythin' she can get 'er mitts on. Any o' it magical perchance?"
Valrieth shakes her head. "No, the hourglass sigil 'lock' on the cupboard is enchanted, of course, but it looks like none of its contents are magical." She sighs and shakes her head as she puts everything back in the cupboard, "I'm not sure whether Bavlorna collects everything, but she certainly doesn't seem to discard anything, does she? Perhaps these items help the hag enforce her bargains or something, but it just looks like a lot of old junk to me."
There's nothing that Val wants to take from the cupboard. She cannot think of anything that they've seen where they'd need the 'spittlespew' password, but they haven't explored all of Bavlorna's hut. Once they're done putting everything away and re-locking the cabinet, Val is ready to go back upstairs with the party to Bavlorna's tea room to inform the hag that they've unblocked the well and that fresh water has now filled up the pool.
The party heads upstairs and sees Bavlorna sitting her couch sipping tea from a discolored teacup.
"Oh, you are back and a bit worse for wear it seems. Have you done what I asked on you?" says Bavlorna in an almost grandmotherly tone.
During their rest, Valrieth studied her notes. She wants to be careful about these fey bargains and doesn't want to claim a reward before they've fulfilled their end of the bargain. Val makes a hasty curtsy to Bavlorna and says, "Well, you asked us to clean the pool and unclog whatever is stopping the flow of water. We were able to unclog the well, and fresh water has now refilled the pool. But I'm not sure what you meant by 'clean the pool.' Did you have something specific in mind?"
Valrieth nods in agreement. Once they leave Bavlorna's tea room, Val says, "I'm sorry, Finley. I should have brought up the specific terms of the bargain earlier, but I didn't think much about it until she phrased it like that. Did we 'do what she asked'? I don't know whether she could take some extra payment if we said that we were done before we met the terms of the bargain, but we were warned about how she twists bargains. It suddenly occurred to me that we hadn't really cleaned the pool, and I thought it best to be cautious. It's just too bad that I didn't think of that before we unclogged the well."
As the party goes back downstairs to the pool room, Val begins thinking about how they're going to clean the pool and whether they can even finish that task today. She suggests, "If we could prevent the pool from refilling constantly, I could freeze blocks of water. If we could get the ice out of the pool, we could remove all of the water one block of ice at a time. But that's a lot of heavy work, and then we'd still need to scrub it. Does anyone have a better idea?"
"It's fine, ah figured tha' killing th' creature woulda been enough, but o' course she would want more 'n more, ah know we hadn't cleaned it per say, but anyways." Finley looks around as they get back to the pool room, "all th' acid and water is gonna be ah problem, ah dunnae have any magic that can help here, ah only have a little bit, but ah did clean up the smithy as ah young lad so it cannae be much different than that, aye? Ye can try ta freeze it, but this'll definitely take many hours to do, and if it'll get us back outta here safely, well ah've got that old dwarven sturdiness so ah can take it!"

Let me know if you want to check out the cupboard with the unconventional lock. There is no typical lock to pick. It's more of a puzzle.
Val is able to scoop some of the gelatinous cube into glass vials.

Finley you now stand in front of the cabinet.
How do you plan to unlock the cabinet?

"The pool must be de-slimed and made pristine. As for cleaning supplies well, that is up to you to figure out" says Bavlorna with a toothy smile.
(Basically, cleaning the pool like those professional pool cleaners. Drain the pool and scrub it clean then refill the pool with clean water)
“Of course.” Finley sighs, glancing over at Val. “Let’s see what we can find, might be something laying around that we can use.”
