Looking at the pool, Valrieth says, "If we had a bunch of buckets, I guess we could pass buckets down the line like we did at that burning building in Downfall. That might be easier even if it took a long time. Or, if we could make a sort of trough, I could probably use magic to make the water flow up the trough and out of the pool. Then we could maybe just route the trough out the door. "
Val looks at the (now unclogged) well and says, "But, first, I guess we need to figure out how to block the well from immediately refilling it."
Val will try casting shape water to see whether she can create a cylindrical block of ice that will block the flow of water from the well. It cannot immediately float out of the well, and it also needs to "plug" the well completely so that water cannot seep out around it.
Val is able to make a cylinder of ice, but if begins to float up. Perhaps if you put something heavy on it.
Valrieth says, "Well, that almost worked to plug up the well." She dismisses the effect and lets the ice melt back into water.
Before trying again, Val asks, "Octavian, could you bring those petrified vultures from that room," pointing at door to the taxidermy room, "and put them on top of the ice in the well?" Once Octavian returns with a vulture statue, Val casts shape water again to create a cylinder of ice. If one statue doesn't do it, they'll try putting both of them on the ice "plug."
If that works, it gives them 1 hour to work on draining the pool before Val has to re-freeze the plug for the well.
Val asks, "So, do you just want to try moving ice blocks? Or do you want to try building a trough or something?"
"It might take just as long if not longer if we build ah trough or somethin' like that. Even if we 'ad all th' materials at hand. Ah'm not afraid of doin' hard work so we can get outta 'ere sooner than later." Finley nods, "Ice first, if it dunnae work ah can try ta build a trough if we got everything down here."

Finley Stoneshaft, Dwarf Artificer - The Wild Beyond the Witchlight, Falkas, Half-Elf Drow Warlock - Keys of Empire
Assuming that the petrified vultures hold the ice cap in place and block the water from the well, Valrieth's plan is to freeze big wheels of ice, about 2' in diameter and 2.5' high. Octavian would lift them up, out of the pool and onto the platform, and then Vansel and Finley would stand the wheel on its side and "roll" it out the door. Once the block of ice drops through the door, Val dismisses the effect so that it just falls as ~60 gallons of water down to the lake below. After an hour or so, she'll also have to renew the freezing effect on the well to keep it from refilling the pool.
Of course, this plan only works if they can get one of the doors open. Val tries to open the trap door in the floor or the door that leads out to the ruined stairs to the kitchen (B4). As long as one of those opens, they should be able to empty the pool in 3 hours or so. If the doors won't open, she tries saying each of the passwords that they've learned to see whether that lets her open the door: "Spittlespew." "Bandersnatch."
3 hours pass and Octavian and Finley are tuckered out. The pool is now empty of water though still filthy.
(OOC: Is the "body" of the gelatinous cube still in the room or did it eventually dissolve? If we still have that big 10' cube to deal with, is it in the pool? Or was it up on the platform beside the pool when we finally killed it?)
While Octavian and Finley rest for a bit, Valrieth will get started on scrubbing the pool with Vansel.
If the gelatinous cube is still in the room, she tries cutting of a bit of it and testing to see whether it can cut through / dissolve the grime without damaging the tiles in the pool.
If the gelatinous cube has already dissolved into nothing, Val returns to the room where they saw the two 1-foot tall pincushions (B3). She looks through the piles of cloth in that room and gathers scraps of cloth that they can use as rags, anything sized from 4" x 4" to 18" x 18". Once she's gathered a few dozen such scraps, she carries them back to the pool room (B1) near the stairs in the southeast corner of the pool. She says, "Vansel, can you help me start scrubbing out the pool? We need to finish cleaning up the pool while there's no water in it. Once we're done with that, we can all finally lock ourselves in the guest room and get some sleep." Val puts two of the smaller scraps of cloth on the tiles at the bottom of the pool and steps one foot on each one. She uses them like a pair of skates as she slides her feet around, wiping the floor with the rags under her feet, using her weight to press down. She changes out the rags from time to time with fresh ones, building up a piles of soiled rags by the pool. She suggests that Vansel start with using a rag to scrub the side walls of the pool.
The gelatinous cube dissolved into nothing over the 3 hours. Val easily finds the scrap of cloths needed and after 2 hours the pool looks a lot better.

Valrieth takes one of the remaining clean rags and make sure that the magic mirror is clean. Then she gathers up the soiled rags and puts them behind / under some of the other junk in this room.
Val says, "Whew! That was quite a job!" She checks her notes and says, "Let's see. We were supposed to clean the pool and unclog whatever is stopping the flow of water. I guess that we've done that now, right? Can you think of anything else we should before we try to collect Clapperclaw's head, Finley?"
If not, she has Octavian remove the petrified vultures from the ice cap that's plugging the well. Once he's out of the pool with both statues, she dismisses the shape water effect that's keeping the water frozen so that the pool can finally refill from the well. She suggests that they wait to ensure that nothing else clogs the well and that the pool fills all the way back up before they go back upstairs to tell Bavlorna that they're done.
Finley is flopped on his back staring up at the ceiling, "Sorry ah weren't much help after th' beginning."He slowly sits up, feeling some of his bones pop as he forces himself to stand up to help keep an eye on things, "aye, great job, ah dunnae see anything at th' moment, but ye never know."

"OK," Valrieth agrees. "I think that we confidently say that we have completed our part of the bargain. Let's see whether Bavlorna upholds her end of the bargain."
Val stretches her back and rolls her aching shoulders before she puts her backpack on again. "And...I know it's late," she says, surveying her weary-looking companions, "but we should also try to finish exploring the second floor before we go to bed. If Bavlorna leaves the tea room, we could finally check the cabinets in that room. And we never tried the doors on the other side of Bloody Toes's kitchen. After finding Clapperclaw's head, I'm optimistic that we'll find Octavian's heart somewhere in this house."
Val follows Finley up the spiral staircase and back to Bavlorna's tea room, stifling a yawn as they enter.
"Ah your finally back. Did you complete your task?"
Valrieth says, "Yes, we believe so. We have scrubbed and cleaned the pool and unblocked the well. We emptied out all of the old, stale water, and the well has refilled the pool with fresh water. We hope that you'll be pleased."
Val doesn't say more because she doesn't know whether it would be rude to ask for Clapperclaw's head. Maybe Bavlorna will want to see the pool herself before she gives them the stag skull?
Bavlorna heads down with clapperclaw's head floating by her side and she carefully inspects the pool and eventually heading into the pool for a soak. "Alright as per the bargain here is the stag head" she waves her hand, and the stag head sails through the air to land at Finley's feet.
Finley tries to catch it but misses, so he picks it up carefully and says, "Tha' wasn't so bad, aye?" As he stares down at the head. "Might be time fer a rest, as ah'm terribly tired now. Can we stay here tonight or is that too much ta ask?"
