"Good luck finding that entrance to Prismeer. Everyone I talked to either don't know or stone walling me. Especially Mr. Witch and Mr. Light. I know they are hiding something. I can feel it. Tell me what you have found so far" says Kettlestream
Gan-Re helpfully replies 'Well someone stole a voice from a clown, someone is causing trouble all over the place and Pixies like playing Hide and Seek.'

At hearing Gan-Re's description of Kettlestream's exploits to Kettlestream's face, topped off by the remark about hide-and-seek, Val dissolves into laughter. But perhaps because of the high-stakes discussion with Kettlestream, this time Val's laugh sounds more nervous and a bit hysterical. She finally regains her composure as Finley talks and then asks, "We haven't met Mr. Witch or Mr. Light, yet. Where would we find them?"
"At the big top tent. They are getting ready for the big performance for tonight. I overheard them talking. Listen to this." Kettlestream uses her mimicry ability to replay the conversation she heard. (“Someone is going to find out about this! They’ll shut us down!”) followed by Witch’s calm yet firm reply (“We agreed to this pact. Our hands were forced but our eyes were open. We let the Hourglass Coven take what it wants, and in return, we stay in business. That is what you want, right?”).
"No do you see why I need that stupid clown's voice. I mean he can still work. its not as if I crippled him."

"Hourglass? Wait...I've seen an hourglass recently. I think? A bunch of...little...hourglasses?" Val tilts her head and her eyes seem to loose their focus on the group. She raises her hands a little, her fingers moving, like she's touching a series of small objects. "Oh! I remember!" She pulls the map of the Witchlight Carnival out of her pack and shows it to the group. "See here? In the top-left corner of the carnival map! There's this series of hourglasses that ends with the crowning the witchlight monarch. Since Zybilna is the ruler of Prismeer, that phrasing struck me. In the opposite corner, it asks, 'will you be our witchlight monarch?' Do you think that it's related or just something silly for the carnival goers?"
Gan-Re is still a bit dizzy and isn't really following everything. But that is OK, he is a bird of action rather than thinking 'Well done Val. To the hourglass thingy'

(Its not a location and its just something for carnival goers. It has no importance to your search)
(OOC: Yep. Val didn't think that it was a location in the carnival.)
Seeing Kettlestream's bewildered and disdainful look, Val rolls up the map and puts it away: "Well, it isn't as though I thought that those hourglasses on the map were the Hourglass Coven. I just don't believe in coincidences and thought that it might be a Sign that we're on Fate's path."
"No do you see why I need that stupid clown's voice. I mean he can still work. its not as if I crippled him."
"As for Candlefoot, he's definitely quite sad about the loss of his voice, and it means that he cannot propose to his love. We thought that by helping people within the Carnival, we'd make some friends who might be able to help us in our quest. Is there any way that you would give Candlefoot back his voice? Can you just take anyone's voice?"
“Ah really think ye should give th’ voice back, he needs ta propose to his beloved, which is more important than what yet doin’ with it. Besides there’s other voices ye ken use, aye?” Finley asks as nice as he can.
( Persuasion20 in game log, advantage from the help!)
Kettlestream takes out a small straw doll with a ribbon ties around the neck. She then looks to Finely "Does that mean your offering your voice in trade. I would agree to those terms"
“We’ll be helping’ ye look into th’ big event, consider givin’ th’ voice back to him payment instead, aye? Ye seem ta ‘ave plenty o’ voices ta pull from.” Finley tugs at his beard.
Valrieth looks scared at the idea of turning anyone in their party into a mime, especially a spellcaster. She's glad their their pleading seems to have moved Kettlestream at least a little. She gives Finley a surreptitious thumbs up behind Kettlestream's back once the kenku turns to head to the Hall of Illusions.
As they walk back toward the Hall of Illusions, Val asks Kettlestream a question. Aware that Kettlestream is currently disguised as a human, she tries to be careful not to give her away, asking, "Do you know whether the kenku can take anyone's voice? Or can she only take a voice if someone offers it to her?"
Gan-re know that taking voices in not a typical ability for kenkus
"Yes I can take anyone's voice"says Kettlestream.
The party heads to the Hall of illusions and you do not see the mime, but you do here sobbing tears coming from behind the tent near the water. There you see Candlefoot and Palasha shedding tears of sadness as they try to console each other.
Kettlesteam looks to the straw doll and unties the ribbon around the doll's neck and all of a sudden Candefoot can talk "Palasha my dear, I got my voice back. Will you marry me."Palasha looks truly elated "Yes. I have been waiting for this day"
Kettlestream lets out a squawk with a decidedly unhappy look. She begins looking around and at the party for her next voice.
Gan-Re says ‘Maybe we should try the paper thing again. Kettlestream can you write down for us how you can steal voices, normally Kenku only mimic voices and don’t steal them. Also, is there another Kenku around here?’

Valrieth looks to Finley and Gan-Re for help convincing Kettlestream. If possible, she'll help them make the case to give Candlefoot his voice back.
