(OOC: Maybe not this round, if Val is successful! I'm hoping that it's sufficient for her to use her action to extinguish the flames on another character.)
Valrieth blinks the smoke out of her eyes and extends her arm toward the coal. A radiant arrow flashes from her outstretched hand toward coal #2. She says, "Gan-Re, get ready for some cold water: I'm going to try to douse your flames." Hoping that Gan-Re heard her through his rage, Val tries to get near him without disrupting his attack. She splashes him with water from the bucket, trying to put out any flames on him without getting too close to the animated coal. Then she steps back away from him and the coal again, moving toward the door where she hopes to see the bullywugs are returning with the two full buckets.
Movement: Moving closer to Gan-Re and then back toward the door. Action: Extinguishing flames on Gan-Re Bonus Action: Archer Starry Form attack on coal #1, 25, Damage: 8 radiant Free Action: Talking.
Bonus Action: Archer Starry Form attack on coal #1, 13, Damage: 8 radiant
(OOC: that should have said coal #2. Not that it matters, of course, because Val missed. At least I remembered not to edit a post that's using the forum's dice roller!)
Finley makes sure to flank with Gan-Re on the coal and strikes out at it.
Action: Attack Coal 2. Hit: 24, Damage: 6 Thunder and has disadvantage on attack rolls against targets other than Finley until the start of your next turn.
Move: To flank the coal 2 with Gan-Re.

"Well done everyone." says Duke Ickrind. He rummages in his coat and pulls out 3 badges shaped like a fly with wings that flutter and he offers them to the Trio. "Wear these as this badge will help you earn our King's trust"
When ready the Trio can head on through to the bridge
Valrieth, still glowing with the archer starry form, checks the room for any other coals (Perception18) and helps the bullywugs extinguish any lingering flames. Then she quickly washes up and wipes off any remaining soot.
"Well done everyone." says Duke Ickrind. He rummages in his coat and pulls out 3 badges shaped like a fly with wings that flutter and he offers them to the Trio. "Wear these as this badge will help you earn our King's trust"
Val accepts the badge and attaches (pins?) one of the badges to her robe, asking, "Thank you, Duke. What do these badges indicate?"
When ready the Trio can head on through to the bridge
Val would like to proceed soon so that she will still be in her starry form in case they run into any more trouble. She should have ~9 minutes left before it expires. And maybe it makes her look more impressive and "fey" to walk around with her luminous body shedding bright light in a 10 ft radius and her joints glimmering like stars with glowing lines connecting them.
But before they proceed, she does want to ask a few questions.
Once the fires are out, she munches on a couple of her goodberries and asks Duke Ickrind, "What is this building? We were happy to help put out the fires, of course, but there were these animated pieces of coal setting fire to everything. Did you create them yours? Or, if not, do you know where they could have come from?"
Valrieth, still glowing with the archer starry form, checks the room for any other coals (Perception25) and helps the bullywugs extinguish any lingering flames. Then she quickly washes up and wipes off any remaining soot.
(OOC: Of course, now Valrieth rolls a 20...after the combat is finally over!)
(OOC: and any response to her other questions? The Trio just rushed into a burning building. What sort of building is/was it? Duke Ickrind's home? A forge? A magical laboratory?
Does Duke Ickrind have any info about the coals that caused the fires or how they came to be in the building?)
Gan-Re "What nasty little things! You cannot trust fire and earth spirits like that. I was on fire, for quite a while there. Do you have any of those healing berries Val?"

Gan-Re "What nasty little things! You cannot trust fire and earth spirits like that. I was on fire, for quite a while there. Do you have any of those healing berries Val?"
(OOC: Gan-Re actually has 3 berries. See post #1385. At the start of the day, Valrieth had 11. She gave 3 each to Finley and Gan-Re. She kept 5 for her self, but she just ate 4 of those to get back to 20/22 HP. And we'd like to keep at least a couple of berries in case we need to revive someone. Since Val didn't use any spell slots in that last fight, she'll try Healing Word now, and then you can figure out how many of the remaining berries Gan-Re eats as they head over to the gazebo.)
"Well, we might want to save a few of the berries for later. That way, you could revive Finley or me if one of us gets separated from the Trio and the other one is badly hurt." Valrieth comes closer to Gan-Re so that she can clearly see his injuries more clearly in the bright light that's radiating from her. She sucks in her breath and winces, "Sssss -- ouch! -- yes, that looks like a pretty serious burn. I'm sorry that we left you to deal with one of those fiery menaces on your own, but they proved much trickier to handle than I expected for such small opponents. I'm just glad that Finley and his armor was so effective at smashing them to bits."
Val doesn't have that much experience with combat, but after a couple days of facing the dangers of Hither, she's gaining some experience. She knows that it's dangerous to leave their best fighter in this condition in case they encounter something else dangerous here in Downfall. After all, Sir Talavar told them that one of the hags "lives in a spooky cottage on stilts at the heart of Downfall." Val finishes looking at his burns and rinsing them with water, and then she says more briskly, "Well, it was foolish of me to go to the Brigands' Tollway yesterday already so injured. We very nearly lost that fight against Agdon Longscarf! Let's not make that mistake again."
Val takes a deep, calming breath and her glowing eyes look intently at Gan-Re's injury. She says a quiet prayer under her breath, and Gan-Re feels some of the pain subside.
"There!", Valrieth says with a smile, pleased with the results. "Almost as good as new! I'm sure that those singed feathers will grow back in no time!"
"This building was once the balloon factory, now no more and no we do not use such coals here. I have a good idea where the coals come from, but I will not share that information with outsiders." says Duke Ickrind
No as it took an action for yourself. Gan-re can do so on his turn.
Finley puts the fire out on himself and runs over to the remaining coal, trying to flank it with Gan-Re.
Action: Put out fire.
Move: As much up to max speed to flank the other coal with Gan-Re or at least adjacent to it.
