The Trio heads towards the Proving Grounds. A mangrove tree stands in the middle of a patch of heavily churned mud, where rusting and rotting bits of armor and weapons are scattered. Two lengths of chain are anchored to opposite sides of the tree trunk, each with an iron shackle on the end
The grounds are 20 feet in diameter. Combatants are shackled by one wrist or ankle to a 10-foot length of chain attached to the tree. 2 of the Bullywug warriors are fighting while the other 2 bullywug warriors watch.

Seeing the Proving Grounds, Valrieth makes sort of "tsk" sound. Val has a category of activities that she thinks of as "stupid boy games," and this definitely falls into that category. She tries to avoid them whenever possible. As a small harengon and social misfit, she associates groups of rowdy males with teasing, bullying, or worse.
Val says, "I'll let you two talk to the bullywugs. I'll be over here." She lets Finley know, "I'll be performing a short ritual. Give me about 10 minutes?"
Val tries to find a quiet spot where she won't be disturbed, just at the edge of the proving grounds and closer to D8. Then she starts a ritual casting of Detect Magic.
"Wow, that looks great. I wonder if they have a cleric on hand for healing or anything. You know Finely I have often thought of being a gladiator. The roar of the crowds and the thrill of challenge. A chance to show off my plumage." Gan-Re wanders over to the spectators and says "Greetings, I am Gan-Re and this is Finely. How does this contest work?"

Gan-Re: Aarakocra Barbarian - The Wild Beyond the Witchlight | DM - Keys of Empire
(OOC: Just to be clear, Valrieth was specifically casting the spell to check Bavlorna's book.
Since Val is now 10 minutes ahead, I'll wait until Gan-Re and Finley have spent 10 minutes at the Proving Grounds. Just let me know.
If the timing works out, Val would like to go to D10 next while she is still concentrating on detect magic. That looks like an obviously magical location: either a conjured storm cloud or an enchantment that keeps the cloud in place.)
"We'll give ye th' time."He looks to Gan-Re. "This could be a good chance, if'n they get rowdy." Finley replies before they get to the soldiers and he grins at them.

Finley Stoneshaft, Dwarf Artificer - The Wild Beyond the Witchlight, Falkas, Half-Elf Drow Warlock - Keys of Empire
A bullywug warrior looks to Gan-re and Finley "Do you want to spar. We can go next after these 2 louts" He then turns to Gan-re "Whoever still stands at the end is the winner and the fights are 1v1. The chains are to prevent any cowardice or anyone who may wish to escape."
"Ha, sounds like a challenge then. What are the rules? I may fall but I will not run.Finley can I have one of your Goodberries, I should be in top form for this"

"The are no rules beyond doing what you must to win. As soon as your opponent is knocked unconscious you win. By the way my name Krayker" says the bullywug warrior
After a few more moments the fight in the proving ground is over with the loser being dragged out.
Krayker looks to Gan-re "Let go its our turn to fight." He hefts his warhammer and he enters the muddy proving grounds
The second warrior steps as up "Where do you want to be chained? Wrist or Ankle? you choice"
