Krayker tosses over a towel to Gan-re "Here wipe the blood off and I'll be back" he heads into the holding cells and comes back with a glaive. "Here is your reward for a good fight and not backing down" says Krayker
"Thank you." Gan-Re straps his shield to his back and takes the Glaive, giving it a few quick practice swings. He also picks up his dropped Axe. "I think I might need a quick lie down now"
Gan-Re eats the Goodberry that Finley gave him and looks for somewhere to get a short rest.

"You are in Bavlorna's realm. She rules Hither while out King rules us Bullywugs. The King is quick to dispatch any who oppose him. I can guess that if you did not accept that noble quest he would have clapped you in irons and tossed into the Holding Cells." says Krayker
"Shall we head over to th' water(D11)?Finley asks, patting Gan-Re on the back and glancing over to Valrieth.
Seeing Gan-Re, Valrieth looks surprised, "Oh! Are you OK, Gan-Re?," she asks. "What happened? You should have interrupted me if there was another battle!"
Val asks whether he needs help. She offers to heal him.
(OOC: Val could burn 1 use of her starry form / wild shape and 1st level spell slot to heal 1d4 + 1d8 + 6, but on average, that'll still leave Gan-Re at 21 HP. They just finished a short rest, so she's back to 2 wild shape uses at the moment.)
Val originally thought that Downfall would be a peaceful little village of funny frog people as long as they avoided Bavlorna, but after the fight with the coals and now Gan-Re's current state, she's worried about what happens if they stumble upon some other danger. They should definitely not go to Bavlorna's lair now, not with Gan-Re in his current condition.
Since Val just finished casting Detect Magic, she can continue concentrating on the spell for another 10 minutes. She tells the others that Bavlorna's book isn't magical, and she thinks that it should be safe to open it. She proposes going over to D10 next, the location of the captured storm cloud. (She assumes that there must be some magic going on there, so Detect Magic could be useful there. They could also ask the bullywugs at the Proving Grounds about the other locations before they go anywhere.)

(OOC: I assume that the Trio can't really see beyond the immediate area D8-D11. That is, when the party is at D9, both the gazebo (D6) and the tree at D13 would be obscured by thick fog. I guess the Trio could ask about what's across the water to the south of the palace (D11). The only locations that the Trio can see and that they haven't visited are D8 and D10.)
"That weird enclosure up there? Ah'm more than happy to see a bit more of this place, but ah'm not sure how patient their king might be." Finley looks in the direciton of D10. "Gan-Re does need a bit of a rest, but he's a strong lad, aye?"

"Well I'm not much good at investigating. I'll wonder over with you both and sit down for a rest close enough while you investigate"
Gan-Re walks with the others to D10. But then sits down for a short while they investigate. (I assume that he gets the HP if he makes it to the end of the rest and he isn't interrupted. Otherwise he will have to wake up from his short nap if interrupted)

Gan-Re: Aarakocra Barbarian - The Wild Beyond the Witchlight | DM - Keys of Empire
A big black balloon floats over the lake, tugging at its moorings. Beneath it hangs a basket made of black wicker and wood, which serves as a merchant’s stall. A large pane of gray glass is drawn closed across an opening above the counter. A sign mounted above the window reads, “Wondrous Wares & Fair Fares!”
The balloon is not made of fabric, but rather appears to be a roiling, dark rain cloud that has been contained somehow with lines and netting. Yes to detect magic there is magic involved in in the the tethered cloud.
Valrieth points out the sign to Finley. "Hm...it doesn't list any prices."
Val cranes her neck and then bounces up and down a couple of times to see better over the counter. If there's anyone inside, they'd see Val's ears and top of head. Then her whole head & shoulders appears briefly. Bounce: "Hello?" Bounce: "Anyone there?"
2 creatures come into view as they open the pane of glass above the counter "Yes, now what do you want?" asks the one on the left in a raspy tone
Val blinks and waits as the silence grows uncomfortably long. Then, remembering that they left Gan-Re resting on the boardwalk, she does her best introduction. Forgetting that the group's name doesn't make sense when they're not all together, she spreads her arms and says, "Oh! Um...we are The Trio. We are on a Quest and have recently arrived here in Hither. My name is Val, and this is Finley."
She glances at Finley and then looks back at the creature uncertainly. "We're in need of some particular supplies. Isn't this a shop that sells wondrous wares?," she asks, gesturing at the sign.
The one on the right taps the counter "The Wonderous wares are listed on the sign below. Now what do you want?"
Valrieth wonders whether she did something wrong or whether everyone in Hither is this bad at "customer service." She asks, "Well, the prices aren't listed. How much is the Moonlight Monocle, for example, and what does it mean by 'no more fumbling in the dark'? Oooh! Can it see through magical darkness?"

Wondrous Wares. A sign hanging below the counter lists the following items for sale:
AVAILABLE FOR A LIMITED TIME ONLY:
Very good thimble (fingertip not included)
Mug of Bumble Beer (has a nice sting to it)
Duskmallow pie (with decorative bite marks)
Bundle of dry wood (great for starting fires)
Ink portraits (if we have to look at you, so should you)
Moonlight monocle (no more fumbling in the dark)

Those at the counter notice a Unicorn Horn placed on a shelf behind the 2 creatures.
While she was looking for the proprietor, Valrieth noticed the alicorn on the shelf. She perks up and is about to say something to Finley when....
