"Also now that we have the horn. Any idea what it does or what we do with it?"
(OOC:
For now, Val will take the Moonlight Monocle in case she needs it in D8. It looks like it does not require attunement, so Val and Gan-Re can pass it back and forth, as needed. She'll tie it to a bit of string around her neck. That way, she doesn't have to keep her face scrunched up all the time to keep the monocle in place, but it's easy to raise up to her eye when needed.
Unless Valrieth gets a clue from the alicorn's magical aura, they don't really know anything about it. Val suspects that they will have to find Zybilna's palace before they can use it to free Zybilna from the magic that froze her in time, and it seems like they may have to cross the rest of Prismeer before they get there. She just hopes that they will learn how to use the alicorn during their quest so that they know what they need to do when they finally reach the Heart's Desire Palace.
For now, they just need to keep the alicorn safe. Since Val doesn't think that they can use it right away, they could keep the alicorn in the Portable Hole, maybe inside the ornate box from the Leaning Tower that used to hold the Stone of Good Luck (Luckstone). That way, it's not just rolling around (or puncturing!) the extradimensional space.
If no one objects, then the next stop is D8. Finley and Val will go up to the door on the west side of D8. Gan-Re will presumably be resting somewhere either on the boardwalk to the west of D8 or somewhere in the grounds between D8 and D11.
The unicorn horn reveals no further information beyond that its magical.
D8
Rising from the soggy earth is a sturdy wooden hut with an open doorway on one side of it. At the back of the hut are two holding cells. Thick mangrove roots serve as bars, with a small round door closing off each cell. The floor of one cell is covered with several inches of stinking water. The other cell holds a figure in rags slumped against the back wall.
Kraker and the other warriors are nearby at the proving grounds. Inside on a chair, there is a Bullywug guard fast asleep and letting out burbling snores with its spear in its arms. On its waist hangs a key.
"Yer welcome, Lady Val. Please rest Gan-Re, we won't be far!"Finley says before they walk off towards the hut.
"Hmm, seems ta be a jail o' some kind, aye? I wonder who they got up in there? A vagrant or a vagabond of some kind perhaps? Mayhap someone that could know somethin' about where we are going?" He tries to whisper to Valrieth, but of course, he can't. "Whoops."He glances at the sleeping figure.

"That poor soul betrayed us and defied Bavlorna by helping a faerie dragon escape. Soon she will be dead and join the other heads on the fence. Now be off with you and let me get back to my dreams" says the Guard
"Aye, alright. We could possibly find the faerie dragon as well though? If ye know anythin' about it. If not ah'll leave ye be." Finley holds his hands up placatingly.

"Sir Talavar is probably long gone by now. Now be off with you now" says the guard looking rather serious.
Valrieth says, "We're sorry to have disturbed you," while trying to peer past the guard at the cells. (Can she see any details about the figure in rags? Does it look like another faerie dragon? a bullywug? or something else? Is the building entirely enclosed? Or do the "cells" have a window or some other opening in the mangrove roots to the outside? That is, would it be possible for Gan-Re to fly up and pass a note into one of the cells without passing the guard?)
Val then gives Finley an deliberate glance, her ears looking stiff with anxiety. She turns to head back to where Gan-Re is resting some distance from the Holding Cells.
Val sits down next to Gan-Re in a bit of a huff and crosses her legs under her. She looks at Gan-Re, and she says with some annoyance in her voice, "It seems that everywhere we go, we find trouble and injustice. Those are the king's holding cells, and an ally of ours is being held there."
She asks Finley, apropos of nothing, "Finley, you made a coin once that could show an image of Zybilna. Can you enchant other such items? For example, could you enchant an object so that it shows an image of Sir Talavar?" You see that she has positioned herself so that she can keep the door to the Holding Cells in view. (She's trying to watch and see when the guard dozes off to sleep again without being obvious that she's watching.)
The figure in rags is a female bullywug and there is no window and the mangrove bars surround the cells. Perhaps a paper airplane or some other method of contacting the bullywug in rags .
Waking up from his short rest and forgetting that he cannot be quiet Gan-Re bellows groggily "Who is being held and where?"
Looking around to make sure that the there aren't bullywug guards too close, Valrieth says, "Shhh. We may not be able to whisper, but you don't have to shout."
Val fills in Gan-Re: "Finley and I went to the hut. It's a sort of jail for King Gullop XIX's prisoners. There's a bullywug being held there, awaiting execution, but the guard said that the prisoner defied Bavlorna. She was the one who helped Sir Talavar escape. This prisoner is an ally of Sir Talavar, so I think that we have to try to rescue her. She may have also been inside Bavlorna's hut to rescue Sir Talavar, so perhaps she could tell us more about Bavlorna."
Val puts a hand on Gan-Re's arm, anticipating that he might fly off into the hut. "But--listen!--after your sparring with the bullywug on the Proving Grounds, we know that they are tougher and better-trained than the harrengon brigands. We cannot rescue the kidnapped children if we're outnumbered and killed here. I don't want someone who helped Sir Talavar to lose her head, but I'd rather not break her out by slaughtering all of the bullywugs. I'm not even sure whether we could manage it if we tried. We may need to use stealth here. Steal the key and free the prisoner. Or...I don't know. Maybe create a distraction that would lead the guard away and then sneak in and get the prisoner out?"
“Ah can do that, aye. Why would ye want me to do that?” Finley raises an eyebrow.
Val shrugs and says, "Just thinking of ways to get a message to the prisoner. I could send a wild companion into the cell with a message. Or I could take the form of a squirrel or cat and try to get past the guard, but then I'd still need a way to deliver a message. I guess a written note would do, but I thought that a token that projects an image of Sir Talavar would prove that we're allies."
(OOC: after her short rest, Val has 2 wild shape uses. She can use that to summon a bird like she did when they first arrived in Hither. Or she could transform into an inconspicuous and stealthy animal to get into the cell. But once she gets there, even if she transformed back into herself, she wouldn't be able to whisper. She needs a way to deliver a message. If they get a key, they could just try to create a distraction / capture the guard, free the prisoner, and then flee before anyone notices. But then where could they hide where the king's bullywugs wouldn't find them...other than Bavlorna's hut?)
