"No it can't, but it can let you see better in the dark. If you want it either cough 20 sp or trade us something of equal value" says the one on the left
While the conversation is going on, Valrieth is still concentrating on Detect Magic. She looks past the creatures at any objects that she can see on the shelves or any objects that they present, checking whether any of them are magical.
(OOC:
@Weathervision: looking for clarification about this line in the Detect Magic description:
If you sense magic in this way, you can use your action to see a faint aura around any visible creature or object in the area that bears magic, and you learn its school of magic, if any.
Does that mean that Valrieth can spend her action to see a faint aura around all creatures and objects within 30 ft. that bear magic? Or is it trying to say that she has to focus on one object each round within the area?
"No it can't, but it can let you see better in the dark. If you want it either cough 20 sp or trade us something of equal value" says the one on the left
Valrieth thinks for a moment and then says, "Hmmmm. Let me think about that one. But do you sell anything that's not on your sign? For example, do you have a gilded acorn that I could put a tuft of fur inside? Or a set of cards or tokens for use in divination magic? Or perhaps a pearl?" Val is still looking for the material components for summon beast, augury, and (for Finley) identify.
"Sure do, but they are going to cost a lot of gp. Do you even have enough to pay for those items? If you don''t have the coin you can pay in other ways though you would have to sacrifice parts of yourself" says the one on the right

"Oh?!....oh," Valrieth is excited but then concerned about negotiating with the fey. And the phrase "parts of yourself" doesn't sound good. "I definitely don't have the coin for the gilded acorn. Maybe I have something else that I could trade? Or...um...which part would I need to sacrifice for that?"
"The more expensive the more must be traded. Perhaps an ear, fur, we can also drain the color from you. What are you willing to sacrifice?" asks the one on the left

Valrieth gasps and grabs an ear in each hand, protectively. She glances at Finley in horror.
"What? What do you mean, 'drain the color from me'?" She looks at the brown fur on her arms and legs and asks, "What color would I be?"
"Now, now. Ye don't need ta ask for stuff like that. Lady V doesn't need to be drained of color." Finley says, "Money is money ah imagine though, aye? But that depends on if ye are sellin' or tradin' that horn back there on th' shelf."
"You would be gray in color from head to toe" says the one on the right
Of course, the ability to cast Summon Beast could really help the party, especially in fights against multiple opponents. Valrieth looks at her reflection in the glass and imagines all of her color turning a drab gray. Being colorless might not be so strange in Prismeer, but she has to believe that they'll eventually succeed in their Quest and make it back home. But if they rescue Zybilna, could that fey restore her color?
Val thinks about what she's willing to sacrifice that might be valuable enough. Val finally offers: "Could I trade my ability to whisper for the gilded acorn?"
(OOC: That is, when Val speaks, she wouldn't be able to speak quieter than a regular speaking voice. She'd probably sound like one of those people who don't seem to have an "inside voice.")
The one on the right takes out a glass jar "That is a Deal" as soon as the word is uttered Val feels her throat becoming parched as some essence is drawn out of her and into a jar. There is a purple mist now in the jar. The creature then places a Gilded Acorn on the counter.

This is Val's first taste of a Fey bargain.
Valrieth clutches her throat, looking worried. She quickly snatches the gilded acorn and automatically says, "Thank you!!" She looks startled by how loud her voice is, much louder than she intended.
Her expression is somewhat worried, and she stares at the gilded acorn as she turns it over in her hands thoughtfully. She checks to see whether it already contains the fur, feather, and scale. Her expression finally becomes more focused and determined, and she puts the acorn in her pouch. She looks to Finley and asks, in a firm, projecting voice that carries all the way over to where Gan-Re is resting, "Would you like to buy anything, Finley?!"
Ahh, Lady Valrieth. O' course we need th' horn of a unicorn." He reaches into his pouches to show the Potion of Water Breathing. "Will this suffice for th' unicorn horn? Ah dunnae see anything else other than perhaps if ye have a pearl worth 100 gold, or somethin' like tarot cards or small bones and th' like, aye?"

"Oh my! Finley, are you sure?", Valrieth says. This time, she had no thought of speaking quietly. "It's a noble sacrifice indeed, but be careful with your bargain. Ensure that you get what assurances you need."
She scrambles back to where Gan-Re is resting on the boardwalk to let him know what his friend has offered. "Gan-Re, these fey run a shop, and they have an alicorn! But--oh! We don't have enough gold, and they offered to make Fey Bargains with us in exchange for goods. Finley just offered to exchange part of his leg for the alicorn!"
Gan-Re awakes from his nap "His leg! I leave that dwarf along for 5 minutes and he is offering his leg to people"
Gan-Re walks to the shop "Finley is not giving anyone his leg. I have spent too long trying to stop people from chopping him into little bits for him to give up a limb. Now, you are sensible shop keepers I'm sure. What would to like that isn't a major function of someones body. We have a lovely box and pleanty of wood. Or memories of flying, they seemed popular before"

(Basically everything magical will have an aura and this whole shop is magical)
