This roll only applies on the condition that the verbal component is heard, meaning within 10ft. There's no reason this couldn't apply, it just tells me the Bard is within 10ft of the duergar at some point thus turn. Because the Bard started at exactly 40ft from tbe duergar thrall, he coukd cover the distance and deliver the insult, but then has no movement left to put distance between him and mind flayer.

A creature can try to tumble through a hostile creature's space, ducking and weaving past the opponent. As an action or a bonus action, the tumbler makes a Dexterity (Acrobatics) check contested by the hostile creature's Dexterity (Acrobatics) check. If the tumbler wins the contest, it can move through the hostile creature's space once this turn.

Shaiere will normal attack the downed Mindflayer with Advantage twice, a third time with my bonus attack (Note Rollling advantage seperately because I don't trust the way the dice roller does it)

Total damage to Mindflayer is 29 HP of damage and potential knock down and stun.
All out of KI until a short rest, so only two normal attacks plus a single bonus action monk attack with no stunning until then.
Also noted that I no longer have Bless, but all my attacks that did hit are critcal or 25+ without it.

I think this woukd make the mind flayer and duergar block the exit I'd we paused for it, since they followed right behind but, whatever.
