The boy looks super excited to be leading the local heroes off to the townmaster's hall. It appears to be just down the road, a little past Lionshield Coster and on the left-hand side of the road.
Townmaster's Hall
The townmaster’s hall has sturdy stone walls, a pitched wooden roof, and a bell tower at the back. Posted on a board next to the front door is a notice written in Common. It reads: “REWARD — Orcs near Wyvern Tor! Those of a mind to face the orc menace should inquire within.” The notice bears the town’s seal and an indecipherable signature.
"They're in here!" The boy rushes into the hall, not waiting for the others. "Mister townmaster, I got them for you!"
Realgâr takes note of the announcements board with the orc flier and lets the boy lead on. He silently walks onward with the group and walks inside with a little caution. He does not expect to be ambushed, but never lets his guard down, keeping a hand on a handaxe on his belt.
"I'll go make sure it's safe. Who knows if he is a Redbrand sympathizer?" Realgâr walks inside.
If it's obviously not an ambush then he will call back to the group to come in.

As we continue to the townmaster, I speak with Realgar. "Well Realgar, sounds as if'n I misunderstood your sentiment towards such a wizard as myself."
I head inside with the boy without thinking twice. An admirer of the Gloomblast brand, no doubt. "Here here, townmaster. I am Chadwick Gloomblast at your service." Magical doves fly out.
Headed into the Townmaster's Hall the group sees a fairly modest building, like most of the rest of Phandalin. In the main room the group sees a portly aging human man sitting at a large wooden desk, while Sildar is stood beside the desk. The child rushes up to the desk excitedly. The man behind the desk furrows his brow as he flips a silver coin across to the child, who excitedly runs off out of the hall again. "Bye, mister magic man!" He calls as he leaves.
The townmaster leans forward to have his elbows resting on the desk. "So... these are the newcomers in town." He says with an air of authority to his tone. "You can call me Townmaster Wester."
Realgâr gives the boy room to clear out and give his farewell to Chad, then introduces everyone after giving Townsmaster Wester a courtesy bow (while thinking to himself how ridiculous his title sounds as is the need to be addressed by it, but still honors it regardless) "Greetings Townsmaster Wester. My name is Realgâr Rubyrump and these are my companions, Chad, Randaler, Kres, and Koko."
(He gives his companions a moment to introduce themselves before continuing)
After giving everyone a chance to introduce themselves if they wish, he fills in Wester, "I'm sure Sildar here has filled you in on what transpired with him, but we are trackin' a fellow Dwarf named Gundren who has a map to a place called the Wave Echo Cave. We aren't exactly sure where Gundren may be, but somethin' called The Black Spider is involved. Would you happen to know anythin' about them, sir? Oh, we also intend to get rid of the Redbrand problem in your town, as well."
Realgâr is curious at Wester's reaction when he mentions the Redbrands and pays careful attention to his body language. What does his body language say? Basically, Realgâr is trying to determine if Wester is glad or not, regarding the Redbrands being run out of town.
The townmaster nods. "So, you're the ones who are causing a bit of ruckus I heard about." He says, frowning slightly. "Those redbrands won't be happy when words gets to them that you've lashed out at them. Do you know what issues that could cause for us?"
Sildar intervenes. "Townmaster, please listen to me. I know that these folk are hearty warriors and can help you with your miscreant issue."
"They're... mercenaries." The townmaster says gruffly. "They are just rowdy, that's all."
"Regardless, they are lawless ruffians who are causing trouble." Sildar says. He turns to the party. "Would you not agree? I think you have already seen what issues they are causing, and I think they will need to be stopped to regain proper law and order to this place."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Chad
I step forward to the clearly unappreciative Townmaster. "I take it you have missed the insignia of my affiliation, Townmaster." I point and tap to the AI lapel pin on my cloak. I cast magic on it to slightly glow. "You see, I am with Acquisitions Incorporated. This here grants me, and anyone I deem necessary, special privileges in the actions I choose to take." I move in close to the desk, putting my hands on the edge. "The only thing we've troubled in this town is with the Redbrands and that's where I'm confused, Townmaster. Why this is an issue with you?" I pause for a moment and lean in. "Unless they're paying you to be allowed to case problems here..."
Realgâr is immediately suspicious that Wester is a Redbrand sympathizer or one of their bought politicians. After Chad says his piece, Realgâr continues,
"Mercenaries that steal, murder, and cause suffering to *your* town as they please are *not* "rowdy mercenaries", sir. They are bandits. We know we kicked a hornet's nest here, but we intend to squash those hornets and rectify the situation—soon. As Sildar says, law and order must be resorted and you, Townsmaster, are charged with this task."
Attempting to gauge his reaction, Realgâr tries a different tactic and attempts to be the "good cop", "I have an idea. How about you come with us to stop them? Not only would you help fix the problem, but it would be good for you politically, would it not? Savior of the town and all that."
"The only reason we interfeared was because they are causing issues with your town, they are causing fear and harm to the people and trade of your town. They are not guards they are a gang and you may call us mercenaries, but the fact is we are here to find our kidnapped friend, dealing with these redbrand pests will help us in that goal."

Koko chimes in: "Are you not aware that they are causing the affliction among the town. I have come to heal a young child. A CHILD! These ruffians are terrible people. They must be stopped. Plus they jumped me. They are the ones who interfered with my work. They tried to prevent me from going to the child by telling me to leave. I will not sit idly by while people are sick or hurt. An elf such as myself will never turn down helpless people."
You reckon that this townmaster isn't bought by them. He obviously likes his money, but seems to show some tremble in his tone when talking about the Redbrands.
If anyone would like to make a persuasion or intimidation check with advantage due to the input from multiple people in the group.
There is a slight hint of sweat on the townmsater's forehead. He leans forward in his seat. "Listen, up to this point yes they have been a nuisance. Annoying, yet tolerable. The town was still working, but now you've actually drawn blood. That's only going to escalate things, and that means trouble for me. If you think you can take them down, fine. They've taken refuge in that old manor house at the end of town."
Realgâr is quite confused, "I wasn't shootin' my mouth off any anyone lad, but what whatever you say."
Maybe I should have included a :) at the end of saying Chad's fan showed up. He was merely stating the situation, and meant no offense.
Either way, he waits for the others to get ready before setting out again.

"Well we best not keep him then, we must make sure you get that silver penny."
