Raziel makes it to the meeting room and knocks on the door. "Hello? Lady Cassandra? I wanted to talk more about the mission and ask for a favor." The elf said and waited, removing his dagger from his robe and sheathed it.
Ed nods in agreement, "Aye, I think we're done here. I hope you both find some kind of peace after all this." Ed stands and starts to make his way to the door of the cell. "Codric, should we go find the others?" Ed leaves and makes his way to the library with Codric.
As Ed and Codric enter the library, Kriv is nose-deep in a book.
"CAWW"says Quoth, which Kriv hears causing him to looks up. "Ah, friends! Hello!"
Kriv puts down the book and stands up. "This undead business is quite interesting. If there really was some kind of cursed gold it seems to me that we'd be dealing with a wight. You see... when someone is driven be great greed, like a pirate, and they're killed there's a strong possibility the death created a wight. The wights could then create zombies from nearby corpses!" he says with his arms flailing about.
"We should see if the chamber can provide us with some silvered weapons. That is... if my theory is correct... but it almost certainly is. Did you find any useful information from the prisoners?"
"Kriv! You blend in quite well in here."Edward chuckles and smiles at their Dragonborn companion. "Apparently there is one particular fellow that has command over the other undead. So that adds up with him being a Wight. There also might be a cult involved..." Ed retells the remainder of what they learnt from the prisoners.
"Unfortunately they were both pretty traumatised by the experience so we didn't learn much more than that. I dread to think what fate awaits them now." He stops and thinks for a minute. If he were less fortunate, there might have been a time where he'd be in their position. At least smugglers didn't meet the hangman's noose as often, or quite so swiftly, as pirates did.
"Yes, I'd imagine that would be troubling... let's make sure the same doesn't happen to us." Turning his attention toward JB...
"JB... could I borrow this for a little light reading on my journey?" Kriv holds up 'Creation and Calling' by Realmseer Eskil Ryndarien"I promise to bring it back in one piece. Also... was there anything you wanted me to pick up or research while I'm gone?"
"Uh... yeah, sure. Just take this book card with you," JB says, pulling a small piece of colored parchment from under her desk and filling it out quickly with a pen. She slides it across to Kriv. "Return it in one piece or you'll have to pay a fine for damages of castle library property. I don't think Madame Fox is interested in much about the undead. If you come across any interesting magical items, though, she might like to see them and may even purchase them from you. She's gone on business right now, but when you return she might be back."
Meanwhile, on the other side of the castle...
The door of the chamber opens slightly and one of the riflemen guarding Cassandra stands on the other side, a young human man with brown eyes and strands of ashy blonde hair peeking out from under his cavalier hat."What are you doing here? You shouldn't be wandering the halls unattended!"
"Who is it, Commander?" The familiar voice of Lady Cassandra sneaked through the opening in the door to meet your ears.
"It's one of the adventurers you hired regarding the Shield of the Dawn, milady. Alone."
"It's alright, Kynan, let him in."
The young rifleman and his comrade open the doors to the council chamber and Lady Cassandra stands at the top of the small set of stairs leading to the meeting table. "Oh, the loquacious Marquesian," she says to Raziel, smiling smugly. "What is this about a favor?"
"Oh lovely", Kriv says in earnest as he signs the paper and hands it back. "I wonder where my other comrade has gone off to. While we wait... JB, do you mind if I ask what type of research you are interested in?"
Raziel looks to the rifleman, "A bit young to be a protector of the great Lady Cassandra aren't you?" He smiles, " Then again I doubt I'm much older. Anyways m'lady." Raziel says woth a deep bow. "We may be dealing with a wight, a creature driven by greed or it could be much worse and may possibly be a vampire. Either way I was wondering if we could bother you for silver weaponry, and if possible someone who can craft a launcher of sorts for one of these." Raziel draws a steak holding it out for Cassandra to examine. "I'd prefer one thats made of pure silver if possible, though I myself am no inventor. My handy work is best served as the blade of my Goddess."
JB look surprised. "You're... actually... wow, okay," she says, smiling a little. "Well... I don't really research much... I usually keep the library in order and occasionally help Madame Fox with errands or finding books... But I am reading this really interesting book on alchemy by Ozwyn Gruude of the Arcana Pansophical. It's a beginners guide, sort of, but I haven't really tried to make anything. Madame Fox would kill me if I tried to use any of her ingredients, the prices at the Alcove are more than I would like to spend, and it's too dangerous to look for things outside of the city walls..."
JB suddenly blinks and shakes her head. "Ah, sorry... Rambling again. I don't always get the chance to talk to people, so... Yeah... Alchemy... Woo..." She mutters as she casts her eyes back down to her book, her cheeks turning slightly pink.
On the other side of the castle...
Kynan narrows his eyes at you, but before he can say anything you move on. He sighs.
Cassandra cocks her head slightly at your request. "I see... Well... The only person I know who could possibly create anything of the kind is my brother, but he is currently devoting all of his time to renovating the castle. I cannot ask him to do this for you. He's under enough stress as it is. I can, however, loan you a few silver weapons from our arsenal, seeing as you are working for the Chamber," Cassandra says, going back to the table and writing on a sheet of parchment. "Take this to Quartermaster Ashpike at the armory. One of my functionaries can point you in the right direction."
Before you can take the writ, Cassandra gently pulls it out of your reach. "Understand that this is not a gift from the Chamber; I expect you to return the silvered weapons or pay damages should anything happen to them. Now, if you please, find your friends and fulfill your mission posthaste. I don't want these undead harming my people."
She then hands it to you and returns to her table. Kynan and the other guard escort you to the door and open it for you. "Good luck," the commander says with a nod.
Raziel gives a nod, "Thanks...." Raziel's eyes grow dark for a second as his mind wonders. Tje elf shakes his head and nods, "Be pleased friends. I hope to return soon." With that Raziel leaves and goes to find his friends. When he does he holds up the parchment given to him.
" I have a request for silver weapons friends." He sets the paper down on the table next to Kriv. "Sorry for darting like that, I figured I'd catch our wonderful mistress and ask for a favor."
"Raz, nice of you to join us" Ed gives a sly smile to the elf, "Silvered weapons will help us greatly. Although hopefully they have some silver headed crossbow bolts that I can use with Tabitha. I have a uh... a bit of an attachment to these two" He pats the hilt of his rapier and the grip of his crossbow.
Raziel nods, "I'm familiar with sich attachments." Raziel says as he regards his longbow. "Ishkar here isn't a normal weapon used by my people, but I'm pretty skilled with her."
Codric followsthe others and one of them has to poke him at the library for hewas looking at the books, reading the titles.
He listen to the conversation about attachments and the others naming his weapons and he looks down to the mace that hangs from his hip. He remembers the muscle pains that came after every training session, the blisters in his hand, and the bruises that the others made him in the training fights. HE really hated that part of his preparation to become a cleric.
“I should name you Stinger or Burned Hand” he says to the mace.
"Ishkar..." Ed inspects Raziel's bow from a distance, "She's lovely. And you should pick 'Burned Hand', lad. It sounds meaner." He chuckles. "The bond I have with my weapons extends beyond sentiment though. I don't fully understand it yet but it came with certain abilities, like being able to summon them from a distance."
"Ha! Well I'm not really sure. The furthest I've tired was like a hundred feet. It kind of just disappears and reappears in my hand. Only works with these two weapons as well."
"They may have magical properties then beyond that of mundane and silver weapons. Mine habe only seen the blood of monsters and its about time I give my rapier a silver blade or pair it with one."
Raziel leads the party towards the armory in a still serious but somewhat cheerful mood almost like a child getting to go to the candy store.
"A bit of warnimg though, we do have to return the weapons when we are done and any damage must be paid for Cassandra said."
Ed replies as they make their way to the armory "That I really don't know, Codric. I took to meditation when I was marooned on an uncharted island a while ago. One day when I was meditating in some ruins on the island, these runes appeared on my weapons. The same runes were all over the walls of the ruined building I was in. Anyway since then I've been able to do all kinds of cool stuff." Ed gives the cleric a thumbs up.
"I believe that the weapons themselves are still rather mundane though, Raz."

He looks to the others as if they are done and can leave with the jailer.
