Tyris that there is another pit trap by the eastern door.

Shadow turns around and leads the party to the long tunnel and heads north until you come to a big room.

Marble staircases split this room into three levels: a rubble-strewn foyer to the east, a ten-foot-square marble landing, and an upper hall supported by two pillars sculpted to resemble petrified trees. Between the pillars rest a graven throne. An elderly gnome wearing a silver crown is slumped in the throne, his soft snores echoing throughout the room. The thirty-foot expanse of wall behind the throne is carved with frescoes depicting a complex array of gears. Another noteworthy feature is a cherubic gnome’s face carved in bas-relief on the west wall of the landing.

You can make a perception check to see if you see anyone else. 

Laladak will also scan the room for anyone else Perception 20

Laladak doesn't see anyone else in the room. 

"HEY WAKE UP!" Laladak yells at the sleeping Gnome. "You got until the count of three to tell me where you punks are keeping the kids!" Intimidation 14

Laladak will count to three and unless the guy answers his question exactly hes charging him sword drawn.

Tyris readies his bow in case of danger.

The gnome doesn't wake up. 

Laladak charges up the stairs as he steps onto the ten-foot-square marble landing the bas-relief gnome in front of you (between the two flights of stairs to the 3rd level), animates and speaks. Saying " If you wish an audience with the king, place your finest coin in my mouth."

Do you...

A. Keep on running up to the 3rd level 

Or

B. Go over to the bas-relief and put something in its mouth (what)?

Or

C. Something else 

Laladak goes to the bass relief and puts a gold coin in its mouth. Then he yells, "NOW-WAKE-UP-YER-MAJESTY" 

The coin disappears. And you can still hear snoring. 

"Someone else do something or Im going to rush this sleeping ******bag and probably get blown up by some magic bullshit." 

“ you paid the coin, go up to the king now, we will rush in if something goes wrong but I think you have a chance to ask a question if you go up there. This place is beyond strange I don’t want to confuse it with multiple people”

Laladak walks up to the king to accept his fate. He kick the sleeping gnome's foot... and wait. 

As Laladak approaches the sleeping king, he sees a scepter laying on his lap. When Laladak kicks the gnome's foot, your foot passes through the gnome's foot leaving him undisturbed and still snoring. 

Laladak turns back to group and yells down the stairs. "Dudes an illusion! There's a scepter in his lap. Can anybody suss this out with Magic Ju Ju?" 

"Is the sceptre also part of the illusion?" Tyris calls back.

Laladak tries to see if the scepter is apart of the illusion arcana 12 Annoyed, Laladak yells back, "I dunno! Get your ass up here and check it out yourself!" 

Alben walks up to the illusory king and takes a closer look at the king and staff. Arcana (taking my advantage): 23
