As Jared yells out, the thief and four more figures step out of the crowd and three draw swords, the other two drawing crossbows. You can’t see any of their faces, as they have them covered. It seems that they want the package (and gold) bad enough to kill for it if stealth fails.

Hearing Eris call out, Jedri stops mid-step and turns on their heels, swinging their bow into their hand in the same action. "Please refrain from extending any appendages beyond your personal radius!"
Jared got his warhammer and shield out, covering the person with the box keeping it out of sight of the thieves. He eyes the thieves as they shift positions slowly, he shifts with them.
The bandits are spread out around 15 ft away for the ones with swords, and 25 ft for the ranged ones. The crowd of people begins to back away as weapons are drawn.
