Katarina takes a couple moments to decapitate all of the downed wolves, just in case...
But as the adrenaline and the accompanying surge of magic wear off, the full realization hits Katarina of what just happened... Niska is dead, felled by a single bolt of magic. The feline approaches what's left of the ranger and falls to her knees, staring at the horrible aftermath in shock. She lets her sword and shield fall to the ground next to her. She doesn't speak... she doesn't feel strong enough to say anything at the moment.
Eila gives Jade a sharp nod and quickly pulls her arm from Jade's grip so she can tend the wounded. She lowers her hand to dispel the shard of moonlight, clips her warhammer back to her belt and falls back. She comes to Elliðaey's other side and puts a hand to where the orb shot through, channeling in a cure wounds for 13 to the monk.
Still on high alert, she does a quick scan of the party for any other visible injuries, seeing none, opts to ask. "Is anybody else injured? Where's Niska?"
Seeing no one else on her scan of the perimeter and hearing the clatter of Katarina's equipment hitting the ground, it doesn't take long to put the pieces together. Eila pads slowly over to the barbarian and places a hand on the back of her shoulder without a word.
Jade reaches out and grips Eila gently by the upper arm, her eyes and face conveying the silent question...are you okay...as she reaches out and strokes the fur on Katarina's head with her other hand.
"There's nothing anyone could have done. At least she didn't have time to suffer."
The feeling of a hand stroking her fur gets Katarina's attention. She glances up at Jade. The feline isn't weeping, but the playful spark that is usually in her eyes is gone. She just feels totally numb.
"She... she was Katarina's friend," the feline says, in a hollow voice devoid of life. "She deserved better than this..."

Jade nods at the Tabaxi then goes back into the cave and riffles through her pack. When she returns she's cleaning a few bits of debris from the bottom of her emptied tinderbox...
Elliðaey manages to get to her feet, regardless of the cleric's healing the monk still looks visible shaken...her gray skin eerily ashen.
"I...Jade...undead," Elliðaey begins as if struggling to compose her thoughts. "What was that," she asks the others touching her chest where the orb passed through her. The monk removes her hand as if there's pain radiating from it. "I think I'm ok," she then replies to Millicent nodding. Elliðaey then moves to Katarina. "Niska knew the risks and I think...will I think she was protecting us," she adds smiling softly her voice husky and raw. "I think,"...she pauses as looks around at everyone, "the mounts are gone and there's still a couple more hours of darkness left...you...you both need to rest," she adds looking at Jade then Katarina.

Katarina sighs exhaustedly. The ferocious warrior that she was mere seconds before seems completely gone now.
"May the Wildmother show friend Niska the path home home," she says quietly as Jade finishes gathering the ranger's ashes.
The feline struggles to rise to her feet, using her sword almost like a crutch to do so. She looks around at the others, and tries to smile at them in gratitude for their support. "Thank... thank you all. Katarina thinks that Elliðaey is right... rest is what is needed now."
Eila leans in to Millicent, "Tomorrow, I can assist. I don't have the silver or know the rites for the Wildmother's faithful, but I'm... intimately familiar with the ritual to ensure a soul remains in repose," she whispers, giving Jade's shoulder a tight squeeze while she's knelt collecting the remains.
She leaves the two of them and faces Katarina. "We'll all make sure the area is safe and then join you. Sleep might not come to you but please try to rest, and know that death isn't an end, only the flowing of life as it should. The pain you feel is the value she held to you, and it's what we mean to the others in our lives that gives us purpose. Bearing the pain of her loss honours her life, so endure it. For as long as it takes."
Eila seems to have more words, but she has her jaw clenched in the manner of someone fighting down emotion, so she wordlessly gives Katarina a final nod and takes up her hammer. She moves away to stalk the perimeter, eyes on the woods for any more threats, murmuring the prayers' she's obliged to say upon witnessing a death for a short while before returning to camp once it seems secure.
Reaching a point where she can no longer differentiate between the ash and the dirt, Jade closes the lid of the tinderbox and latches it. She smoothes the remaining mix of ash and dirt with her hand while reciting the Order's "Prayer of Passing" then presses her forehead to the mixture.
"Your service is ended with honour, warrior. Rest well in your reward."
"No one is ready to face the dead," she says to Millicent, thought her attention is clearly on the cleric stalking the perimeter, "you stood when you could have run. No one can ask more than that."
She stands and turns her attention fully to Millicent. "You may not feel it, but you did well," she says with a slight but reassuring smile.
Then, casting one long, final look at Eila, she heads to her bedroll.

" Are you alright, Boss? What was that orb thing?"

"Not yet," Jade says to Elliðaey, her eyes still fixed on Katarina.
"She's coming with us to Vermillion, just like she always wanted, and then we're taking her home."
She turns her gaze to Eila, something deep and unspoken in her eyes, "Everyone deserves the chance to say goodbye."
She turns back to Katerina, gives a slight nod, and then gently begins to scoop Niska's ashes into the tinderbox.
Giving Elliðaeys arm a squeeze Millicent nodded to the others and went to Jades side.
" If you'd like I can say some words over her to help her move on and not be bound here.", she said meeting Katerinas eyes.
She cast her eyes down the trail...Particible would be alright....she was a tough little beast..and very good at finding free food...
