"Yes Menos can spare me and is probably busy buried up to his neck with books and scrolls from the some scriptorium. I know there are dangers involved, but I still want to join. Now old friend tell me more of this Vermeillon"says Zaphi with a grin.
"Vermeillon, established after settlers discovered a platinum vein in the mountainside. Due to the rough terrain and the harshness of the climate, the village never grew large. The nearest settlement to it is called Maerin. From there it's three days' ride on horseback up the mountainside," Elliðaey replies to Zaphi. "I don't know much else but I hope to find out more here," she gestures from her ale towards the direction of the library.

"Will we be staying long?" Jade asks Elliðaey, with an uncharacteristic eagerness.
"I mean," she glances from Elliðaey to Eila and lowers her head, "we should head to Vermillion as soon as practical, but it would be a shame not to see the keep while we're here."
"Regarding staying long, I wonder if we might not have much of a choice," says Eila, pausing to drain the remainder her glass of treacherously sweet wine, "If the size of the building's anything to go by, we've a lot of library to look through."
She turns her head to the paladin and regards her with the open-eyed, ponderous look of someone just now noticing a detail on something old and familiar, "I didn't think you were much for books either."
Jade gives Eila a slightly hurt look, before accepting the relative truth of her statement.
"I hadn't really considered the possibilities before; practically the whole of recorded knowledge in one place. Assuming, of course, you can find a way to navigate it."
She casts a glance at Millicent, but declines to say more.
"We'll stay awhile," Elliðaey replies to Jade and Eila. "Although my research will be aided by Millicent per her agreement to be my apprentice. We all even Millicent will have time to investigate the Keep. I welcome your help of course to help research Vermeillon. To my limited knowledge as I said it was an abandoned mining town and the mystery of it's people's disappearances have plagued many. I suspect that mystery can will keep however until I feel comfortable in the knowledge that we can proceed with certainty at finding the settlement. No one wants to wonder the Cloud Peaks in late spring," Elliðaey replies shuttering comical as she raises her tankard for more ale. Looking at Zaphi the monk grins, she's two cups in now. "So, still not a fan of books Zaphi," her tone is teasing. "What is it you do for Menos then may I ask," she adds curiously awaiting an answer as a man comes to the table refilling drinks.

"Early morning for me tomorrow. I'm going to stop by to see an old friend here then I'll see you all in our communal quarters, " Elliðaey explains next. "Zaphi I don't know where you're staying in the House of Rest but you're welcome to join us," the monk explains to her friend with a soft smile standing up front the table.
OOC Eila and Jade can have their conversation whenever y'all like. I'll let everyone check in for bedtime rituals and habits before proceeding to the following morning!
"I help him gather books or scrolls using my talents. I also watch his back when traveling. He is very fond of his own voice and would blabber on for days. When he is like that he does not pay attention to what is going on around him" says Zaphi. Then he uses both hands around the large cup to join in the toast.
Yes I would gladly take your offer for a bed for the night"says Zaphi. He then hops down from his chair and follows the others as he does not know where the communal quarters are located.
"I'm grateful you'll join us," Elliðaey says to Zaphi patting him on his small scaly shoulders. "Good evening everyone, " she adds nodding at the party before disappearing from the Hearth.

"Seems best if we all retire for the night then, it's been a long day." Eila watches the two of them leave and casts a quick glance to Millicent, then looks to Jade before she gets up from her seat. "Was there something you wanted to say? We can talk on the way back to the House of Rest."
Jade gives Eila a confused look, then a contemplative one, and then finally one of understanding.
"Yes, if you'd like."
Jade seems pensive and perhaps a bit anxious as she walks with Eila, until they get to a more or less unoccupied corridor. Suddenly, the words come tumbling out.
"What am I doing here, El? It's obviously not to protect you, since you seem hell bent in charging into harm's way at the first sign of danger."
Eila quirks her head as if struggling to hear, her expression a mix of mild confusion and affront. "It's not 'charging into harms way', I put my life on the line to keep other's lives behind that line, to keep them from suffering," she explains, rubbing at the knuckles of one gloved hand, "And I've not needed you protecting me since we returned to Baldur's Gate. That oath was fulfilled five years ago, you tell me why it still compels you."
"We put our lives on the line El, together. At least that's how I thought it was supposed to be. And as for protecting you, that was the only way the Order would allow me to come. It seems they're concerned that 'Eila the Unmarytred' is going to run off and make a saint of herself."
"But the real reason is because you're my friend, El. Maybe the best one I've ever had. And I care about you. And I want to be where you are."

"Well then I hope we find some more information here, though I was never one for books" says Zaphi
Millicent just stares at Zaphi aghast as if he has grown another head.

" Navigating Candlekeeps library? I was made for this.", Millicent quipped.
Jade offers Millicent a small smile.
"I don't suppose you would spare some of your precious time here to teach me?"
Zaphi looks confused and looks the party "Did I say something wrong?"

Millicent gave Jade an uncertain smile, then after a few moments a sharp nod of her head.
"Thank you."
Jade, forgetting her earlier reluctance, raises her wineglass.
"To new friends and new beginnings."
Elliðaey raises a refill tankard and toasts back.
