Saoirse is relieved to see Hemlock free himself from the frogbear's stomach, and even more so when Sha crushes it with his warhammer. Before she can even think about swinging her weapons again, the monster is pushed away from her reach. She quickly draws her crossbow and shoots at its mouth. "Sorry, but firbolg was never on the menu. So how about you eat this? Iron is good for your blood, they say."(17 to hit. 12 piercing)
The bearfrog does not react to the clever line, but it does react to the wound, blood spurting out from its abdomen where the rapier stabbed so deep. It bellows again, though less forcefully, and it is clear that the creature is near death. Unfortunately, its noise and all the sounds of the fight against it are enough to attract the attention of another one of these creatures.
Another bearfrog leaps onto the roof of the hut from the other side, and gazes towards the bloody scene and the glow from the rapier and from Hemlock's light.
Lam moves fast after the enemy as his friends deal formidable blows to it. He notices a second one make its way onto the scene, but he focuses on the one that tried to eat his friend and takes another swing with his greataxe. Since the creature’s mouth had been what caused the danger, he uses his long arms to aim his swing higher this time- and ultimately cleaves the creature’s head off, leaving the body to collapse into a bloody, slimy mound.
Movement+action: Move and dash towards the first frogbear, then charge towards it. Roughly following the line, but I can take a wider berth around it if I need to in order to charge it.
Hemlock is hurt, and hurt bad. He watches his friends charge past him and take down the first beast, but spots another appear on the roof of the hut. He sends a bolt of radiant energy at the newly arrived creature, closely followed by another luminous arrow.
"How many are there?!", he says as he keeps an eye on their surroundings, whilst moving back into cover of a tree.
Action: Guiding bolt at the creature - To hit: 3+6=9 Bonus Action: Luminous Arrow at creature - To hit: 16+6=22, Damage 1+4=5 [radiant] Movement: 20ft back into cover from a tree
The luminous arrow hits the bearfrog square on - but not very hard. Likewise, the javelin stabs into its upper arm, and though it stays put in the skin, the frogbear barely seems annoyed, it just draws its attention. It leaps forwards, its bulk passing just above the heads of Saoirse, Lam, and Sha, to land just on the other side of the tabaxi. Once there it swings twice at Sha with its meaty, clawed forelegs.
21 to hit, 20 slashing, con14 save or 8 poison; 25 to hit; 16 slashing, con14 save or 3 poison.
"No, Sha!!" An enraged Saoirse lunges forward, seeking to hurt the frogbear that has knocked her friend unconscious as badly as possible. The rapier shines brightly as it pierces the creature's flesh, and Swordbreaker follows next.
Rapier To Hit: 24. Damage:9 piercing, 4 radiant / Dagger To Hit: 24. Damage: 6 piercing.
Lam watches the other frogbear sail above his head, and roars in anger when it attacks Sha. He bounds over and hits it as hard as he can with his greataxe. Another butterfly materializes when he roars, and flies gently around the frogbear.
Movement: Over to the other frogbear, the way he came.
Action: Attack with the greataxe! 16 to hit, 13 damage.
Bonus action: Summon another butterfly. Once more, I want it to move to the opposite side of the frogbear as Lam.
Seeing the new beast tear into Sha and the Tabaxi fall, and his companions valiantly attack it, Hemlock decides he best used as a distraction right now.
He steps out from behind the tree and gets ready to evade the beast as best he can.
"Come on then, eat me you piece of detritus. Although that is an insult to detritus", he says stumbling over the insult.
The frogbear shifts its gaze between its attackers, bleeding now from multiple wounds, but it seems that none of them have slowed it down. It focusses on Hemlock again... until Sha's eyes open again. The beast is startled, and you can almost see its dimunitive brain exclaiming 'but I thought I killed you.' Its attention returns to Sha, despite Hemlock's shining skin and high-concept taunt.
Initiative: Saoirse; Lam; Frogbear; Hemlock; Sha-Gravis (half movement to stand from prone); Frogbear
Sha-gravis attempts to draw a deep breath but the pain in his chest is intense and he ends up shuddering and taking shallow breaths. He quickly realizes how close to dying he was and decides to simply crawl/roll away dodging any incoming attacks, whispering to his goddess for the power to cast one more healing spell.
With the shining one behind a tree, and the almost-dead one just out of reach, the frogbear turns on the big one and the one with the shining spike who had just injured it. It attacks Lam with its left arm, and then immediately Saoirse with its right.
Lam: Attack: 25 Slashing: 19 (halve for rage), DC 14 con or 5 poison; Saoirse: Attack: 8 Slashing: 15, DC 14 con or 6 poison
Despite their injuries, seeing both Hemlock and Sha still standing fills Saoirse with renewed strength and determination. She glances at Lam and gives him a nod that says, "We can do this." Then, turning to the frogbear, the genasi addresses the creature once again, even if she knows it isn't going to understand a single word. "You like light, huh? Then, have at it."
A fresh wound opens on the blood hunter's right wrist, which causes Swordbreaker to burst into bright light. Her rapier follows suit, flashing as it tears into the creature's belly.
Bonus action. Rite of dawn on the dagger (costs 1 damage to activate)
Lam nods back at Saoirse, glad to have an ally by his side and vaguely aware that his other friends are still ok. He keeps his focus on the frogbear, and grunts as he gives the creature another whack with his greataxe. Another glowing blue butterfly appears at the same time that he does this.
Action: Attack with greataxe! 21 to hit, 10 damage.
Bonus action: Summon yet another exploding butterfly on the other side of the frogbear.
Reaction: Attack of opportunity if it tries to leave!
Frogbear attempts to resist the sudden retribution. 15
