Seeing the large doll suddenly animate into some kind of unlife freaks Joorin out even more than crate with eyes and a gaping wound in the basement did...
"No no, bad...bad. What the hell was it I drank!?"
Making a quick sigil in his air with his hands, Joorin utters "Fuentas!" before sending a bolt of flame streaking towards the creature.
As the others start to fight with the doll, Windarë would back away as much as is possible. She quickly calls out the words to cast Sacred Flame and motions towards the doll. A flame-like radiance descends towards the creature. (DEX Save DC 14 or take 7 radiant damage)
"Well nothing surprises me about the depravity of this despicable curator."Luci comments with a scoff as Marigold comes to life, swiftly touching his ring, uttering a few harsh words, placing a Hex on the doll and then unleashing a fiery red beam of eldritch force againts it. He would then move quickly to place himself beteween the doll and Ms. Treynori.
Dubh quickly moves to intercept the doll as it approaches. A stab to Marigold’s midsection spills a small amount of goose down stuffing on the floor and a kick to the chest lands with a thud. Dubh is left feeling like his blows were less than effective against the construct.
Joorin’s firebolt, on the other hand, seems to be particularly effective as it scorches Marigold’s dress. Almost simultaneously, Luci’s curse takes hold and his eldrich bolt slams home into the doll’s left shoulder.
Marigold makes no reaction at all to the barrage of damage as she swings at Dubh with one arm and then the other. Dubh manages to sidestep the first swing, but the second catches him squarely in his chest. The doll’s plush stuffing does nothing to soften the blow as he takes 6 damage and feels a sudden sense of dread.
(Dubh make a Wis Save)
Marigold is already scorched and damaged as the pillar of sacred flames descends onto her, dispersing what remains of the magical life force that was sustaining her. Her now lifeless form slumps quietly to the floor, her unseeing eyes still fixed on Dubh.
The door to the Curator’s office flies open to reveal a guard with a confused expression. Seeing what he believes to be a group of gala attendees vandalizing the curator’s prized doll, he exclaims, “What in blazes is this?” He calls over his shoulder to the other guard in the Grand Entrance, “Hey Perkins! Get over here, and call Billy and the other lads too, there’s some shit going down in here.”
From her perch in the vent, Parr Ker hears a female voice call, “Hey Billy. Hey Craig. Get yer arses down here.” The two guards in the Prehistoric Predator Exhibit glance at the door to the Gemstone Wing where they could have sworn they heard noises. Then one of them shrugs and they both Dash toward the stairs, disappearing out of sight.
Parr hears other voices calling out around the second floor as it becomes apparent that all of the guards are now aware of an ongoing incident and are moving to investigate. For the time being, however, the room in front of her stands empty.
Meanwhile, in the Curator’s office, the lone guard on the scene draws his sword, “You there, lay down your weapon. The rest of you, don’t move.”

Unsure why but happy the guards had left Parr slipped out of the vent and, keeping to the shadows, down the stairs to the ground floor slipping to the side behind the display heading for the break room and then down to the basement.....

(I’m still considering that the combat is ongoing, so in Round 2 Parr would make only to the top of the stairs. She would see the two guards, Billy and Craig, at the bottom of the stairs heading toward the Curator’s office.)
"Would you believe us if I said we're here to save all of the Realms?" Luci says with a tired sigh to the suddenly appearing guard, swiftly touching his ring, uttering a few harsh words, placing a Hex on the guard and then unleashing a fiery red beam of eldritch force againts him.
Dubh manages to shake off the magically induced fear caused by Marigold’s blow as he charges at the lowly guard who is working the night shift just trying to make a few gold to send his kids to college.
The guard is able to parry the sword strike taking no damage, but Dubh’s elbow connects with his temple making him see stars.
For his turn, the guard stumbles back into the Grand Entrance and takes the Dodge action, trying to clear his head as he awaits back up.
Luci moves close to the door to maintain line of sight with the guard as he lets his spells fly, missing with the eldrich blast.

Windarë continues to stay back from the door but shifts to see the guard through it. Again she chants the words to cast Sacred Flame pointing at the guard. (DEX Save DC 14 or take 1 radiant damage)
"We need to quiet these guards fast. I hope they haven't spread the alarm much," she says softly to the others.

"Destroying an obviously cursed inanimate object was one thing, but if we can take the guards down without killing anyone that would be ideal. A thief is one thing, but I would rather not have a murder on my concious if we can avoid it."
Pulling his dagger, Joorin gets close to the door to see if he has an opportunity to close with the guard and slash at him, hoping to bleed him a little and make him pass out rather than aiming for any vital organs.
(If I can get into melee range I will attack with the dagger...if not I will hold an action to slash at a hostile guard that gets into melee with me.)
Rolls in the event that it matters: Attack: 18 Damage: 4

As Luci fires his spell, the Halfling Jorrin Quickstep lives up to his name, slipping between Luci’s legs to charge the guard. As he steps into the doorway leading to the Grand Entrance he can see another Guard (Perkins) about 15 feet away, coming to aid the original guard. Beyond that, he sees two more guards (Billy & Craig) at the bottom of the stairs, closing fast.
As Joorin stabs at the original guard, the man attempts to Dodge but he is not fast enough this time and he takes nasty wound to his thigh. (Attacks have disadvantage due to his dodge action, but I rolled a second attack for Joorin and it is also a hit).
With his new leg wound, the guard is not agile enough to avoid Windarë’s column of flame. He screams and falls to the floor as the flames engulf him.
It is at this point that Parr reaches the top of stairs (see previous posts)
Parr slips down the stairs and around to the left behind the stand, headed for the breakroom door.
She is unsure whether her companions are involved in the slaughter to the south...she hopes not but knows not all of them have the same level of regard for peoples lives as she does.
( I'll assume it takes her this full round to descend the stairs and slip left. Next round to the door.)
Known guard locations are mentioned in the previous post.
Joorin stands in the doorway between the Curator’s Office and the Grand Entrance with Luci directly behind him and Windarë directly behind him. Dubh is farther back in the Curator’s Office and would have difficulty bypassing everyone congested in the doorway. Parr is at the top of the stairs with the Murkmire Stone in hand, but her status is currently unknown to the rest of the crew.

( Would Parrs high Perception roll allow her to hear the sounds of combat?)
(At this point there isn’t much to hear yet. The doll itself is silent and stabbing / kicking it is like attacking a pillow.)
