The Shadowspawn of Despair runs forty feet forward after Faith summons it into being.
Now only ten feet from Ruffian C and D, it opens its mouth and screams. A shadow; there is no noise, only the absence of noise — a terrible, deafening silence that makes ears throb and chests ache. It is the fracturing of glass. It is the dilated pupil, mirror-wide as near-corpse begins to separate from true-wraith. It is the tree-bursting frost of deepest winter, cold enough to freeze fingers black and blood to shattered garnet.
Dreadful Scream (1/Day). The spirit screams. Each creature within 30 feet of it must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw against your spell save DC or be frightened of the spirit for 1 minute. The frightened creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success.
Weight of Sorrow (Despair Only). Any creature, other than you, that starts its turn within 5 feet of the spirit has its speed reduced by 20 feet until the start of that creature’s next turn.
Ruffian C and D are likely taken out by Lena.....Ruffian F moved to melee range with Faith so it's also near Matheris. You could place the shadow so that it's scream can effect Ruffian E, G and H and still not effect Faith or Matheris. G and H are 5 ft from Matheris so if you place the shadow next to E the range to Matheris is 35 ft and 30 ft to Ruffian G and H. I will roll for three saves by Ruffian E, G, and H. We can adjust that if you wish to do something else.
Ruffian E:14, Ruffian G: 19, Ruffian H: 10 vs. WIS DC 16.
(( Yeah. Fine to me re: Shadowspawn))
Faith stumbles from the blow, lashing out with his mind to gain some space from the Ruffian.
He points the incandescent brass of his Genie ring at the Ruffian, “F…,” he starts, but cuts himself off from such vulgarity. In his head however ‘Ruffian F’ now has the appropriate and entire name applied.
Two bolts of Eldritch magic fly out, the first taking the heat of the ring with it, smokey and infernal.
Those near the Shadowspawn of Despair have their movement reduced, and it lunges forward to strike at the nearest enemy, a magical clawful of cold magic — his ring’s dark mirror — swiping at exposed flesh.
Yeah, pick the most threatening one. Without a live map, I'm happy for you to make that call. If one of them is more of a threat to my arty members, kill them.
Karea just smiles. "I'm not so sure about that." She then will attack twice: once with a shortsword, and once with an unarmed strike.
Attack: 12 Damage: Unable to parse dice roll.
Attack: 18 Damage: 5

Lena targets the fleeing ruffian first, wanting to prevent any unwanted escape and possible reinforcements. Fleeing foes have always been a favourite target for her, and she revels in the ease of the slow moving victim, she sights and releases, breathing out calmly as she does. Watching the shot impact she pivots and reloads in the blink of an eye, seeing Faith being pressed by his attacker her next shot is instinctive, barely sighting at all she fires. the bolt flies true catching the attacker through his neck, his severed wind pipe stifling his death cry. Her final shot bounces off the ground near the ruffian's feet, and she calls out to the group, "Best keep one o' these sods alive. I'd like to hear them squeal a little."
Attack (action): @ Ruffian E | To hit: 21 | Damage: 15 + 3 (favoured Foe 2nd use / target) piercing Attack (action): @ Ruffian F | To hit: 23 (Crit) | Damage: 21 piercing Attack (bonus): @ Ruffian B | Miss
Lena drops E and F with ease and with a momentary distraction her last shot misses just barely.
Fiath - You can revise your actions since Lena's action dropped Ruffian E and F. If you keep your actions, B (1 hp) or G (11 hp) will be the targets available.
Ruffian G is killed from the pummeling of the eldritch blast and repelling it away from Matheris as well. Some of the towns folks are seen cheering you on once they see you will be victorious. Ruffian B is badly wounded and almost can't talk.
He says, "
The leader of the Redbrands is a human wizard known as Glasstaff, so named because his magic staff is made of glass. Glasstaff’s chambers are in the western end of the stronghold.
A mysterious figure called the Black Spider has hired the Redbrands to frighten off adventurers and intimidate the locals, for reasons unknown. The Black Spider has sent bugbears to reinforce the Redbrands and provide extra muscle.
The lower part of the complex is guarded by a hideous “eye monster”.
The Redbrands have a handful of captives in a holding area “near the old crypts,” which are guarded by skeletons.
That's all I know I swear. Here is a map. I will leave and never come back.
Ruffian Hideout map....
Townmaster Harbin Wester comes over and says, "That'll stir up the hornets' nest you idiots. Now the Ruffian will come to town and destroy it thanks to you."
"I don't necessarily want to take that one as a prisoner either. Then they'll blame me. What am I supposed to do?"
Barthen comes out from cover, "Wester you can hold that ruffian for a couple day at least."
Lena moves forward and places a re-assuring hand on Harben's shoulder. "Yer not be worryin' fer these Redbrands fer long. They've forced our hand, and now they be reapin' the consequences. We be knockin' on their door an askin' 'em to be movin' on. If they don't agree, we'll make 'em." She wanders to each of the dead, taking a moment to say a prayer over each of their fallen bodies.
"Let's go knock on the door." She says to her companions.
Matheris rubs his hands together, "The.......Front.......Door.......Fortune favers the bold." He says with a smile.
"Lock that one up. This won't take too long."
Matheris lowers his voice....., "Ugh we going now are you want to wait until this evening? I mean I ok going now. The place will be lit up inside anyway most likely so going at night might not make a difference on the inside. Thoughts?"

Elmar Barthen comments, "Go on. I'll keep the war horses stabled for ya. I'll make sure this one here gets put in a cozy location."
You head east out of town about 1/4 mile and past the Sleeping Giant tavern you see the Tresendar Manor. Approaching somewhat cocky but still using cover occasionally you notice there isn't anyone on the grounds.
You spot a heard of humanoid tracks going along the side of the manor with steps going down to the cellar. Matheris leads the way.
"I'll check for traps and lock." He doesn't see any traps and the door is not locked. He opens the door
The door opens onto a five-foot-wide landing fifteen feet above a large cellar, with stone steps descending to the floor in two short flights. Another door stands beneath the stairs to the north. A large stone cistern occupies the western part of the room, whose walls are lined with kegs and barrels. Most areas are brightly lit by oil lamps in wall sconces.
Lena kneels low to the ground, rubbing her hands in the dirt and across the stones below her feet, breaking her twigs in the familiar ritual. She quietly lets out the words of her spell, allowing them to Pass Without Trace inside the manor. In a low whisper she warns, "Best nay leave track in the dust, old buildings carry as many signs as the forest, if'n yer knows what to be lookin' fer. Knockin' on the front door don't mean that yer needs be stupid when they just leavin' it opens fer yer. Though I think another trick might help us..."
She moves forwards, and takes the lead of the group, mumbling under her breath, and making a few gestures with her hand. As she does so her form seems to shimmer as if a shadow were passing over her on a sunny day, and after a few steps more her appearance has changed to that of one of the dead ruffians, "Should buy us a few moments of confusion ifn it comes t' us bein' spotted."
Lena gestures for the others to move forwards in front of her, her crossbows drawn and pointing at the group, with mock sincerity she says "Now me prisoners yer be, so best get yerselves movin' forwards."
OOC - My thoughts are that we can move stealthily to benefit from PWT (concentration) but if we do come across anyone, we still appear to be here somewhat legitimately until we need to do violence.
Karea follows Lena's lead and also casts disguise self, appearing as another one of the bandits.

First turn still rolling....Lena takes out D as well then on her turn....
That leaves Ruffain B and E to still go this turn.
B moves to engage Karea after watching Karea take out his partner. "You wretched wench. Your doom is at hand by the Ruffian Band."
Both attacks miss.
Ruffian E turns to run away in slow motion from the shadow....movement now 10 ft dashes another 10 ft...to the south.
Round 1 end...
Round 2 Turn 1 is up Karea then Ruffian G and F before Faith. Faith has an action pending intiative turn posted.
I'll pause for Karea to take action....I'll post an action for Karea on Saturday if not posted already.
