1. Time zones will be a factor for those picking loot too.
2. If more than one character wants the same item to roll a d20. Highest wins. Next loot session the loser gets first pick kind of thing.
3. We need to decide if just grabbing things along the way is party loot or individual loot. The DM can somewhat control how individuals find loot perhaps intended for that character.
4. Items should typically go to the person who can make most use of it. That's a bit subjective, but we want the character who can use it the best to have it. What if your build plans might make use of it later on, but not now. That's a tough one. Maybe pick it but let someone else use it until your build plan can make use of it.
5. I'm pretty easy going so I don't necessarily have to get a pick each time. Again, the DM can kind of intervene to provide individual loot should this be abused.

Gema personally has all the magic items she needs, and I didn't spend any of the 1500, so I'm good to let it all go, but Gema will use it for favors in game. (She's more social capital than most adventures)
As far as the bidding on items and rolling a d20, I like it as long as we keep a record (easy to do over forums)
Above all else, remember that even though our characters might be "evil" there's still strength in community.
P.S.
If it makes it easier to divvy, Gema could take the cap off water breathing. If nothing else as a fun parlor trick
Mining......I was wondering if we can get some idea of how the DM wants to have the party implement this into their characters? Are we adding Mining Feats, skill, professions? Is it assumed we had these things prior to the start are as we progress? This may be a down the road situation a bit. Are we all mining bosses now. Grin....Get your backs into it. Times money. LOL.

This works for me. It's never easy to distribute magic items- some builds have only specific items that suit them while others are more versatile to take advantage of what is found. There's always a bit of luck that is impossible to balance. Having some magic item economy helps. My wizard will probably spend a lot of gold on buying scrolls and scribing new spells. As long as someone can opt to not select an item and receive significantly larger portion of gold, it's should be reasonable to save for the item you really want.
I also feel that consumables, like potions, scrolls, and the dynamite, should be for party use and distributed pragmatically.
Guile's 1st choice: 500 gp share; 2nd choice: wand of magic missiles & 166 gp
Ravager will look for matches or a tinderbox or some other way to quickly light a fuse. Then inquire about prices for scrolls, potions, harlots and slaves. Not looking to spend a lot of time. Then medium dinner & bed. She's willing to take a turn at watch.
Grabs 2 sticks a dynamite as he believes not having all their sticks in one basket. He'll try and find some mining information to give the party a leg up on dealings inside the mine. He will spend time Identifying the Rod of the Pact keeper +1 to attune to it unless another wants it. He'll enjoy a nice meal, bath and some wine at the NCO tavern and then head to bed.

Not much for mine and explosive rules in the forums the closest thing I found was this Mining What tool or skill? - General Discussion - D&D Beyond General - D&D Beyond Forums - D&D Beyond (dndbeyond.com)
A homebrew miner background: Miner (5e Background) - D&D Wiki (dandwiki.com)
Explosives here homebrew : Explosives - DND 5th Edition (*******.com)
Mining can be covered by masonry tool proficiency (and other skills depending on the circumstances).
Explosives knowledge can be with either Alchemy or Arcana.
Gonna use the above unless we can find other workable rules, homebrewed or otherwise.

Outcast, sent you a message with the gem info.

Shouldn't we already know if the wand of magic missiles burnt out? Can we resolve it now so we know if it's of any value?
"If you expend the wand's last charge, roll a d20
. On a 1, the wand crumbles into ashes and is destroyed."

Let's take the discussion re loot here and in the game thread assume it's sorted.
So the "packages" are, with various interest as shown in the RP thread:
Does the gem Black Knight picked up earlier count as spoils for this encounter, or because they specifically grabbed it earlier it doesn't?
And the silvered shortsword isn't part of the magic items, but is useful. Plus dynamite.

Lola Smythe-Whyte - Larkin Expedition
Daphyra - Deathworld: Lost Mine of Phandelver
Vanja - Binder's Hold and the Problem with the Mine
Or to put it another way:
Item: Claims:
Cloak of the Manta Ray. ...........................................................................................Ravager
Wand of Magic Missiles (0 charges)...........................................................................Kumiko
Silvered short sword, (not magic, but useful against some magic creatures).........
Goggles of Night ..........................................................................................................Vanja

Vicious Longsword, ....................................................................................................Vanja
Cap of Water Breathing.................................................................................................
8 Sticks of Dynamite (15 second fuses.) (not magic but - BOOM).............................Ravager has 2
Zombie gem...................................................................................................................Zelgius
(i concentrated on the magic or similar items)

Alright, I'm back now (mostly). If anyone wondered what happened, I had a stress-induced psychiatric breakdown.
Unhappy that the market got rid of individual purchases for one-off subclasses, magic items, and monsters?
Provide feedback!
Glad to hear you are back. I hope things are getting better for you.
