Castien’s paid an extra 2gp and tipped his hat respectfully at the shop keeper
” Pleasure doing business with you. “
He took out a cloth and wrapped the herbs inside, then placed it inside his backpack with his Herbalism kit
“ Do you know where I can find the quest bulletin board? “
because he’s going to need to a side quest for some more coin, the graveyard is important as is meeting Brother Benjamin, but making up for his lost coin is also important for survival, hopefully he could find something in the area and kill two birds with one stone
"We don't have anything like that here, but stop down at the Boar & Lyre and ask for Pick. He's something of a go-between for those in need of work and services."
Castien bowed his head in respect and then headed off back towards the tavern, he’d inquire about a side quest and the location of the chapel and graveyard and hopefully check off everything on his to do list
The tavern has started to fill up since the afternoon, though most of patrons seem to be there for a drink instead of a meal.
The place appears to cater more towards labourers or the odd apprentice, rather than merchants or artisans. A few rough looking and disreputable characters seem to hang out among the fringes.
Pick sets down a bowl of hot, brown stew and a mug of ale. He looks up as the door clatters.
Castien was about to get into the whereabouts of the church and the graveyard, but was rudely interrupted by the announcement of what could only be the Tiefling, he rolled his eyes but remained quite as he scanned the bar for the Tiefling, while picking up his ale and taking a sip
Castien was relieved to know it wasn’t more goons who were after the Tiefling, but turned his attention back to Pick as he went back to the matter at hand
“ Now before I disclose where, it is of the upmost importance that you keep a weathered eye on Nave and make sure neither of you are out by sundown, I am aware I have no place to instruct a curfew but it is for your safety that I must. “
His voice was stern and authoritative, he would not risk the lives of civilians with this case, but soon softened and his tone became kinder
“ I need to know where the graveyard is and where the chapel is, I cannot disclose why “
because he didn’t know himself all together why, until he spoke with Brother Benjamin

"Since you put it that way. I could probably go as low as two."
“ That’s fine “

"Welcome back!" says Pick with a jovial smile. "If you're ready for a meal, I have stew. Otherwise, what's your poison?"
” I’ll take some stew, I’m also in need of a couple of things “
Castien admitted as he sat up on a barstool, scanning the bar to get an idea of his soundings

"There she is! The Red Rogue!"
Castien was about to get into the whereabouts of the church and the graveyard, but was rudely interrupted by the announcement of what could only be the Tiefling, he rolled his eyes but remained quite as he scanned the bar for the Tiefling, while picking up his ale and taking a sip

She's easy to spot, transfixed by the door staring intently a Castien. She gives Pick a quick, subtle shake of her head to shut him up.
Giving Castien a wide berth, the Tiefling heads to a small corner table that is inexplicably empty and takes a seat.
"So..." Says Pick awkwardly, "you had some questions?"
Castien was relieved to know it wasn’t more goons who were after the Tiefling, but turned his attention back to Pick as he went back to the matter at hand
“ Is she a regular of yours? “
He asked curiously over his mug of ale
she / they
"Aye, you could say that. Seems the cat's already out of the bag, so how do you know her?"
Castien placed down his mug of ale and tore a corner of bread off from his roll and began dipping it into the stew
“ Bumped into her, while I was getting my supplies. she stole from a shopkeeper, was going to be lashed and beaten, I stepped in and defended her “
he gave an unamused grunt
“ Good to see she took my advice and stayed out of trouble, she remains unscathed “

"Then I'm obliged to you. Drinks are on me."
He scowls.
"Not like Nave to get pinched. Hope she wasn't doing something reckless."
“ She was stealing “
Castien raised an eyebrow at the bartender
“ Is she related to you? “
Before falling silent and now having a proper spoonful of soup
she / they
Pick looks over at Nave with obvious emotion.
"Closest thing I'll ever have to a daughter."
Turning back to Castien with a smile and a wink.
"At least that I know about."
Castien nodded in acknowledgement, he didn’t have family, not anymore and he never settled down because the life of a blood hunter is a dangerous one
” Then seeing as I helped you, could you draw us a map? I need a few locations for my investigation “
she / they
Pick is looking at Nave again, chewing on his bottom lip and worry etched on his face.
"Sorry, what was that? Oh yes, a map, sure. Let me get some paper."
He tears a sheet out of the back of the inn's ledger book and grabs the pen and ink pot.
"What is it you're wanting to find?"
