The mosaic doesn't seem to look any different when he steps back, but as he does, the back of his calf runs into a drawer that just popped out from one of the stools in the center of the room. Apparently, the section that he moved was a trigger for the drawer.
Cradled inside the drawer is a beautiful shortbow, engraved with markings that are holy symbols for Torm. It is a shortbow +1 weapon.
Continuing North down two more flights of stairs, the corridor ends with a door to your right that is closed.
Corlith turns back at Virro's request to wait, and watches him adjusting the mosaic and the drawer pop out.
"Great find, Virro. I guess there is only one real choice for that particular item. It looks fancy, you should take a look, Reed", he says looking ahead Reed, but not seeing him.
Virro calls Reed over, aware that he would be the best to carry what he has found. “You’ll like this one, it looks fancy!” Afterwards, he continues to follow Reed, looking down the stairs.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Reed turns the bow over in his hands. His eyes widen at the beauty and quality of the craft shown.
"We could do some good work with this," Reed says quietly to himself. Then he smiles. "Devils and demons beware."
He takes off his old trusty bow, looks at it for a moment, then puts it in the drawer that the magic one had been resting in.
"Time for a rest," Reed says, then closes the drawer with the old bow inside.
Reed slings the new one over his shoulder and flits quietly down the stairs and puts his head against the closer door, listening for any sounds (Perception: (15+9) = 24)
Reed leans back from the door and looks at the others.
"Somebody's in pain on the other side of this," Reed says, indicating the door. "Maybe someone else talking but I can't make out what it is. And then it gets weird. It sounds like there's running water."
He looks back at the door and smiles.
"There's a lavatory joke in all of that somewhere, but I think that might be the duke on the other side."
IronMaiden puts a large hand on Reed's shoulder and gives him an appreciative nod. "No traps on the door?" They ask, and wait for an affirmative before attempting to open the door, shining their revealing lantern light into the room before stepping inside themselves.
Virro snickers to himself, “A lavatory, water running? Is he in there dropping a duke?” He holds his hand up to his mouth to keep his words quiet and leans over, holding his hand on his knee, chuckling to himself.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
IronMaiden easily opens the door to the next room. Turns out it wasn't running water that Reed heard, but moving water in a small pool against several bodies.
A shallow meditation pool fills this room, set off from a broad landing edged by a low wrought-iron railing. Wondrous frescoes along the walls depict souls gaining the blessings of Lathander, Torm, Helm, and Tyr. The frescoes on one wall have been twisted into abyssal forms surrounding a shimmering portal.
The pool is littered with the mutilated bodies of humans wearing the uniforms of Baldur’s Gate and Elturel. The swirling water of the pool roils with shadow, and is shot through with patches of black ichor where demons have fallen here. An armored man with a shield slung over his back crouches among the bodies, writhing in pain. His eyes are closed, and his hands clutch at a gold helm on his head as if trying in vain to claw it off. Unintelligible words spill from his lips, some sounding saintly and solemn, while others resonate with a cruel hissing.
Reya cries out, "Ravenguard!" and she runs towards him, but just before she gets to him she stops, unsure with the words coming out of his mouth.
Corlith moves forward a little and listens closely trying to decipher the meaning of the words being spoken by the one Reya identifies as Ravenguard. And seeing his attempting to remove the helm, decides to give a helping hand.
He also keeps a close eye on the wall with the corrupted fresco with the image of a portal surrounded by abyssal forms.
IronMaiden reactively puts a hand on Reya's shoulder holding her out of arms reach of Ravenguard, "wait, there's something wrong, it could be some kind of control, they could be dangerous."
Instead the little homunculus machine stands upon the IronMaiden's shoulder and unfurls four tiny metal wings. It flies over to Ravenguard's shoulder and touches the man's hand delivering 10 healing to him to see if that ceases the rambling (cure wounds)
Virro moves closer, his lips moving silently. He observes the scene, concentrating on the helm and the state of Ravenguard, trying to ascertain what is going on. He tilts his head like he is listening to something. He is listening to the speech from Ravenguard, trying to understand what he is saying. He looks at the bodies in the pool, trying to ascertain if they have died within the last 10 days…

After listening for a moment, Virro says ”Anyone know how to speak Abyssal or Celestial language?”
Corlith's mage hand does nothing to help the man with the removal of the helm. The Duke continues to struggle and speak random words. When IM's little machine casts his healing, Ravenguard's body seems to relax a touch, the pent up pain that he is going through relieved a bit.
As you all stare at the Duke, unsure of what to do and what this place means, Lulu nods to Virro's question and appears to be telepathically talking to him.
But they are interrupted as three wild-eyed minotaurs come through the portal.
Reeds eyes grow wide as the minotaurs step out of the gateway.
"Mum always said to ask questions first. So, what do you three want?" Reed says as he holds himself still. "But she never said anything about waiting for an answer."
He quickly draws an arrow, takes a bead on the minotaur in the middle and takes his new bow for a test run.
Bonus Action - Steady Aim
Action - Shortbow: (3,14+9) = 23 to hit for (6+6+9 sneak attack) = 21 magical piercing
"The helmet seems to be stuck", Corlith says having failed to remove it with his mage hand.
At sight of the minotaurs, he doesn't skip a beat, immediately reaching out to tear into two of their minds. He once again marvels at the power of his bracers, allowing him to be doubly effective.
Action: Mind Sliver on B - DC17 Int Save or take 5 [psychic] damage and have -1d4 to next saving throw. Bonus Action: Mind Sliver on C - DC17 Int Save or take 4 [psychic] damage and have -1d4 to next saving throw.
As the Minotaurs come through the portal, Virro’s hand reflexively goes up, and a ghostly hand shoots out toward them as he moves 5 feet north. The hand splits into two parts, one going north to Minotaur A and the other going to Minotaur B. The ghostly hands grasp and claw at the necks of the Minotaurs, attempting to latch on. He moves north to make room for everyone to enter the room. As a bonus action, he casts Spiritual Weapon, and a darkly glowing spear appears just north of Minotaur A, striking out at him.
Action : Chill touch : Splitting into two due to his Death Reaper ability.
1st hand to Minotaur A : 14 to hit, for 7 points of necrotic damage.
2nd hand to Minotaur B : 19 to hit, for 15 points of necrotic damage.
Movement : 5 feet to the north.
Bonus Action : Spiritual weapon : Appears just north of Minotaur A : 15 to hit, for 9 points of force damage.

As the group solidly start their attacks with each and every one hitting the minotaurs, even making B bloodied already, Lulu moves away a bit and dodges in the state of health that she currently is in.
Minotaur A rushes at Virro, but the slick wood elf steps aside just in time to avoid the horns.
Minotaur B rushes at IronMaiden but their suit keeps them solid and safe from the horns as they are easily deflected off.
Reya is not so lucky as minotaur C rushes at her. The horns skewer her right through the middle and she loses consciousness. The creature shakes his head and she slides off the horns and falls to the ground.
Seeing Reya go down the flames flicker amber for a split second as Archie tries to gain control, but the IronMaiden suppresses it and quickly sets off a system within the suit, two clicks and suddenly a boom emanates from the Ironmaiden's chest as the suit casts Thunderwave. It shoots directly forward catching both minotaurs (B & C) vibrating through their horns and down their bodies risking them being blown backward.
