Pherria allows Corlith to take the sword in the way he proposes, but shakes her head. "I'm afraid not. One of you will have to hold the sword, pressed against the accursed helm."
"I believe you will be more effective in the fight Corlith. Where as I may be able to keep the sword pressed against the helm whilst using my artifices to apply debuffs to the incoming hostiles, this may be more efficient" the IronMaiden offers, hand out toward corlith to take the sword if he agrees.
As Corlith complains, Pherria ignores him but doesn't say anything as the sword changes hands.
"Ok, press the sword lightly on the helm. Do not let it separate as I recite the ritual prayer. It should only take about 30 seconds... but I don't know what might happen in the meantime. I um.. I have never performed this ritual. But at least I know the prayer by heart."
She stands about 5 feet from the altar as Reed and Virro guard the main area, IM holding the sword and Reya, Lulu and Corlith hovering nearby.
"In the name of Torm, the True, the Loyal, I stand now as a servant of the light, A hand of justice, to cast away the darkness. By the power of Torm, The great protector, the righteous sword, I call upon the light to pierce the shadows, To banish the demons that cling to the Duke’s soul, And to free him from their malevolent grip."
As the beginning of the prayer is spoken aloud, IronMaiden feels a sheer will of force to remove the sword from touching the helm. DC 11 CON save or take 16 force damage.
(Con save 18) as the will of force blåsts out the suit of armour locks up, systems within whirring against the arcane, IronMaiden doesn't so much brace as become statue like. The joints tightening and restricting movement to hold the sword onto the helm. "Continue."
The bright light coming from the two will-o-wisps makes you all squint and they get the first attack. One heads towards Pherria and the other towards IronMaiden.
The first one that attacks Pherria sends their lightning attack straight through the acolytes body and even though IM told her to continue, she cannot and falls unconscious. The book she is always clinging to clattering on the floor as is slips from her hands.
The second one also hits, sending 14 lightning damage to the suit of armor, really rattling their cage and lighting them up.
Corlith is caught napping, and is unable to distract the light as it attacks Pherria.
"Damn it", he curses. "Stop that you glorified firework", he says lacing his words with subtle enchantments. He wastes no time reaching out to Pherria and rejuvenating her.
"Up you get, sooner you finish the better", he says to Pherria.
Action: Cast Vicious Mockery at one of the wisps. DC 16 Wis Save or take and have disadvantage on the next attack roll it makes before the end of its next turn. Bonus Action: Healing Word on Pherria - 1+3=4
As Pherria regains consciousness once more, IronMaiden chances a single hand from the hilt and pats Pherria's shoulder, "please continue" and the spark from the lightning damage within ironmaiden is reverted into an awakening jolt as Pherria receives an additional 10hp (cure wounds)
Virro reflexively shoots his right hand up, a skeletal ethereal hand reaching for both of the will-o-wisps. “No, begone from here!” He says to them, as if it would do any good, looking around the room for any other combatants after he finishes the spell.
Chill touch to will-o-wisp 1 : 9 (a miss, I imagine)
Chill touch to will-o-wisp 2 : 22 to hit for the second, for 7 points of necrotic damage.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Reed skewers the wisp that Reya had already damaged and the light goes out in a blink. The mockery is shrugged off, but Pherria comes around coughing, "Wha.. what happened?"
It takes her a second to realize the situation and as IM heals her fully, she stands up, gathers her book to her breast again and wipes her brow. Virro's chill touch affects the first one, but he can see not as much as he anticipated.
Lulu tries to move inbetween the remaining wisp and Pherria, dodging as she does. The wisp ignores the flying elephant and turns towards the IronMaiden as they are still holding the relic against the helm.
The lightning cracks from the wisp and surrounds the IronMaiden. It overcomes the suit of armor as they take 11 lightning damage.
With the suit locked up and no way to dodge or avert the attack, the IronMaiden take the full brunt of the damage and a puff of smoke rises from the visor as the blue flame goes out, the suit goes limp dropping the sword to one side before the orange flame can properly take over. Archie drops to a knee, "they're out for the count, but I've been listening, I know I'm weak but I hope I can help, IM is gonna need healing though"
Pherria scowls as the sword drops. "I need someone to hold the sword against the helm. I would not recommend one that is weak as this new voice is claiming they are. Please, I cannot continue until it is ready."
Virro gathers himself up and moves closer to the alter, taking the sword from Ironmaiden and he holds it against the helm again. “I will hold it. Proceed!” He looks at Archie and sends some healing her way.
Movement : to the altar, picking up the sword
Action : holding the sword against the helm
Bonus action : Casts 3rd level healing word on Archie / Ironmaiden for 15 points of healing.
Having been ineffectual at taunting the wisp, Corlith decides to reuse one of his more effective offensive tools. He points at the remaining wisp and two radiant bursts descend towards it.
"Well done, Virro. Now get praying please Pherria before more of these are released".
He then moves between the wisp and Virro and Pherria.

As the second wisp blinks out of existence and Virro takes up the burden of the sword, Archie readies herself, first by opting to pull out the rod of absorption instead of a weapon, and second, she opens a vent in the suits wrist emitting a focussed burst of her natural flame which she then grabs as it forms into the shape of a sickening scimitar of flame.
"I'm ready! Has anyone got eyes on the next target?"
Pherria allows Corlith to take the sword in the way he proposes, but shakes her head. "I'm afraid not. One of you will have to hold the sword, pressed against the accursed helm."
Corlith sighs and takes the great sword.
"If something nasty does turn up, it is going to be a little difficult to defend us holding this thing", he complains.
Corlith happily agrees. Well, not unhappily anyway. He is a little uncomfortable with this religious ritual.
As Corlith complains, Pherria ignores him but doesn't say anything as the sword changes hands.

As Iron Maiden says continue, two Will o' Wisps pop out of the helm and attack!
Working on initiative...

The second one also hits, sending 14 lightning damage to the suit of armor, really rattling their cage and lighting them up.
Reya's mouth drops open in shock as the turn of events is so quick and sudden. Recovering quickly, she lashes out at the one attacking IM (B).
Her first and third swings connect to the little thing, though they pass straight through. 13 resisted damage.
Reed spins around at the commotion.
"Bad guys were supposed to come from that direction," he says with a nod back over his shoulder.
Given the small targets, he holds himself still for a moment, draws a bead on the little floating light that attacked IronMaiden.
He then gestures with his head at the second floating light by Pherria "Go make yourself useful and shut that down."
