"Well maybe that counts as a greeting in these parts," Reed says, watching to see what kind of reaction the small red devil's have to a talking rock being thrown at them.
Then he listens for a moment and chuckles and smiles at Lulu.
"Fun to say too," Reed says. "Chukka and Clonk."
If the little red devil's don't start raining arrows and rocks back down on them, Reed hollers up.
Corlith watches the reaction of those in the gatehouse, his shield strapped and ready in case the arrows do rain down.
He tries to judge the distance up to the gatehouse where the half dozen strange red hatted creepy halflings stand, in case he has to do something about them.
(The creatures are about 15-20' above the ground on the gatehouse)
The red hatted creepy halfling types watch the rock fly through the air and step out of the way as it surprisingly lands near them. When it starts talking, they immediately put their hands to their ears in surprise and start looking from the rock to the party and back again. Slowly they lower their hands but the look of confusion is obvious to all. They turn away from the rock and back to you all.
"Chukka and Clonk?" one of them replies in common, "What's the password?"
"Perhaps you can go and get them, and we can speak to them here?", Corlith offers, assuming Reed had not guessed the correct password.
"I am not averse to forcing entry, but we don't know what lies behind the gate. There might be significantly more resistance if we do", he whispers to the others.
Virro folds his arms, watching this display and how the little funny men in red hats are making fun of them. He sighs, adjusting his shield on his left arm, facing them. His eyes glower, with malice and dark thoughts coming across his mind. He stays quiet, thoughts of violence coming across his mind. He looks up at Lulu, unclear of the answer to the question. He is gauging distance to the little red hatted men, looking behind him from time to time, cogs turning and backup plans forming in his mind if this doesn’t work. “Maybe we could make a big wooden badger….”
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Corlith waits patiently, allowing the others around him to answer and investigate and think of solutions. He wants to see if the guards will respond positively to Reed before he acts.
He does however prepare himself for what is to come.

"Oh they won't help you, they don't help anyone!" the first of the group calls back. "Well, they helped you numbskull, got your boot back together." "Oh yeah..."
"But why would they help outsiders?" calls the third, "Hey!"he suddenly shouts as he notices IronMaiden, "You can't just walk in here! Not without... without kneeling to us first!"
Reed looks at the others while the evil gnomes are focused on IronMaiden.
"I don't think they're really in charge," Reed says. "They're making things up as they go along."
Reed decides to slip over to the edge of the wall and find a jagged bit of whatever its made out of for cover and starts walking up the wall, peeking over the top at what's on the other side.
Ironmaiden turns to the group and shrugs them looks up, "the door is regular sized, the handle withing comfortable reach... I am unsure why kneeling whilst facing your direction would make the opening of the door more effective, please clarify."
"Right, enough is enough", Corlith snaps loudly. "Get Chukka and Clonk, or someone with an ounce of intelligence we can talk to, before we run out of patience. Because you won't like what happens when we run out of patience, I can assure you".
His tone is threatening and his face not amused at all.
"Kneeling will get us to unlock the door for you!" one of them responds to IronMaiden like they are a child.
Not seeing Reed, he easily walks up the wall and spies what is going on on the other side.
As Corlith threatens them one of the other ones holds up a finger and looks like he is about to say something, his mouth agape, but nothing comes out. Finally, the first one stomps and says, "Just quit standing around like idiots and come in, the door is unlocked."
As the characters enter through the gate, they enter an area that is littered with trash and mechanical parts, some put together in a way that resembles a vehicle. Ramshackle structures, built from the same junk as the outer wall, appear to provide shelter.
A platoon of small fey creatures mills about, all looking like the feral gnomes you all encountered on the wall. Several of them sport tall red caps, some of which drip with vile ichor.
A pair of kenku examine one of the strange vehicles, chattering to each other in high-pitched squawks. Between these two, with their back to you is a human leaning over the work with his clothes all dusty and ragged at the edges. The kenku carry an assortment of strange tools. Busy with what they are working on, they don't see you yet.
Everything suddenly interests The IronMaiden, they quickly walk to the first infernal machine they see, alert and more attentive than the group has ever seen before, and because of this keen interest they hear the kenku and the man talking, IronMaiden's head swivels as the man mumbles something to his counterpart and suddenly IronMaiden is rushing over, the interest in the machines all but cast aside they begin shouting though not overly aggressively "you said the name Archie! How do you know that name? How do you know Archie!?"
"you said the name Archie! How do you know that name? How do you know Archie!?"
The man tenses as the person approaches him shouting. He begins to say as he starts to turn around "Sorry pal, I don't know what you're talking abou...".
Wilfred turns to see the IronMaiden standing behind him. What started as a scowl turns to a warm smile. "Well, will you look at that? Archie! When did you all get here? I was just saying you would understand these contraptions better than I could! Are the others here too? I tried to catch up but... I overshot a little I guess." Wilfred looks and spots some of the others. "Hey there! Reed! Corlith! I'm glad to see you all are all right! Where are the others?"
"Well maybe that counts as a greeting in these parts," Reed says, watching to see what kind of reaction the small red devil's have to a talking rock being thrown at them.

"Fun to say too," Reed says. "Chukka and Clonk."
If the little red devil's don't start raining arrows and rocks back down on them, Reed hollers up.
"Hey. Hi. We're looking for Chukka and Clonk."

"Chukka and Clonk?" one of them replies in common, "What's the password?"
Reed looks at the others then shrugs and looks back up at what he is sure are more likely devil-gnomes than devil-halflings.
"Um, please," Reed ventures as a password.
"Perhaps you can go and get them, and we can speak to them here?", Corlith offers, assuming Reed had not guessed the correct password.
"I am not averse to forcing entry, but we don't know what lies behind the gate. There might be significantly more resistance if we do", he whispers to the others.
Another of the creatures calls back, “We don’t have a password!” And they all fall over in an fit of laughter.
When one composes themselves, they call down, “What do you want with those goofy birds?”

Reed calls up again "They're going to help us with some directions and travel options."
He looks at the others and shrugs. "I think that's what we're hoping, right?"
Reed takes a look at the walls while waiting for a response from the unpleasant devil-gnomes.
"I could climb the walls pretty easily," Reed whispers to the others. "I can at least see what's going on."
Ironmaiden grows tired and walks forward to test the door to the gatehouse.
Corlith waits patiently, allowing the others around him to answer and investigate and think of solutions. He wants to see if the guards will respond positively to Reed before he acts.

Reed climbs over and walks down the other side of the wall to join up the with the others on the inside.
”My sister would be harder to intimidate than those guards,” Reed says. “So what is this place? Kind of looks like it should interest you, IM.”
Reed approaches the kenku and waves hello.
”Hi. Are you Chukka and Clonk?”
"Your sister is also not witless, unlike those guards it seems", Corlith replies, and then stays a little back as Reed approaches the two kenku.
He can't help but stare a little at the strange vehicles, having never seen their like before.

Reed stops and looks up at Wilfred, his mouth actually opening in surprise.
”Dad, I mean Wilfred!” Reed says before running over and giving the tall fighter a hug. “Where’ve you been?”
