Mooncolor trots up next to the stalled vehicle, his coat damp and his breathing labored. He shakes his mane and with an almost lilt to his voice, "I cannot tell you how good that felt. I have been immobile for so long... oh I'm going to be sore!" if a unicorn could smile, you'd swear you see one on his face.
He paws at the ground for a moment, "A separation between day and night? I'm afraid not. It is always this dim setting here in this awful place. To see the sun again? Ohhhh, now that would be the day!"
At IronMaiden's attempt at humor, he merely raises an eyebrow unsure of how to respond.
Virro's question has the unicorn looking off into the distance to the bridge, "I'm afraid I am unsure. Without the thing I was in, I can't even tell you if it is a demon or not." he appears to shrug.
"chain devil?" IM questions, pointing at a creature perched on the massive infernal chain with it's back turned to the group around 60ft away. "Looks like there are two other creatures on the other side of the chain link there. They have it's attention. What is it doing?" As the group looks there is indeed a creature there surrounded by many, much smaller, chain links.
"In general attempts at humour can be evaluated by the response of the targets. If no-one laughs then it needs work. And if you have to explain the why it is funny, it probably needs work too", Corlith says dryly in response to Ironmaiden's question.
"I thought Reed gave his coins to you, IM?", Corlith replies to Ironmaiden. "If we think it is safe, we can move as soon as you are ready".
At this point Ironmaiden points towards the chained creature.
"Perhaps they have information. Shall we at least get closer to see more then, whilst it back is turned", he says.
(OOC: Reed gave Ironmaiden his coins in post 3980)
"quantifying results of an experiment is how you know the experiment works... To succeed at humour I must avoid seeking conclusion and instead sample variable reactive elements? Hm this seems counterintuitive. But I will try!"
As Corlith reminds IM that reed did in fact give them some coins, the suit double checks before seeming like they remembered something. With a hiss the torso of their body opens and from within they retrieve two coins, "this was for... Safe keeping. Yes... and definitely not an experiment to determine whether a soul could have inhabited this suit like Archie once did."
At the suggestion of talking to the devil, IronMaiden wonders out loud, "what knowledge could be gained trustfully from a devil? Perhaps they could warn us of dangers along our path but they could just as easily be one of those dangers."
Corlith thinks about Ironmaiden's point for a moment.
"It's a fair point, but is it enough to decide to not even try? Maybe even a devil would be interested enough in freedom to speak honestly. And if we don't believe them, we don't help them, right? And we could just go and see what is happening, without questioning it", he suggests.
