“Cool!” says Virro, with the index finger on his right hand he counts, “1, 2, and 3 skeletons. Stay, you skeletons! Serve us!” he says, with false conviction. Like he is seeing if this will work, willing their service into being.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
"Rats as pets is one thing, but this is just creepy", Corlith says as he backs away from the skeletons and keeps a wary eye on them.
He starts speaking the words to send a cleansing flame at them, but holds the power in his mind. Any hostile movement from the skeletons and he will release it at the closest.
Action: Ready - Sacred Flame - DC 15 Dex Save or take 1 radiant damage
The skeletons stand there, swaying a little and as Reed waves to them, they slowly raise their hands and wave back. One hand falls from the wrist of the skeleton when it waves. The hand slowly crawls it's way back up the body and reattaches itself to the wrist.
Ignoring Virro, when Reed asks their names, you can see their jaws working, but no sound emerges.
Archie scratches her head, or the outside of her helmet anyway as she takes a good look at the skeletons, "hmmm, spectral musculature, or just some kind of net levitation field? I sonder how the whole animating process works... Obviously spell casting but getting all the joints lined up, maybe it's latent memory tied to the consciousness of the dead, the bones go where the being feels it is right" she opens the spell book once more and reads up on something she saw earlier.
"Animate dead, advanced spell, necromancy, imbues a corpse or pile of bones with a foul mimicry of life... Reed they seem ti react to you and according to this you may be able to command them!"
Virro seems oblivious to everyone else except for him, Reed, and the skeletons. He starts clapping his hands like he’s just seen a wonderful act at the fair. “Yes, yes! Skip and hold hands! That’s it! Good one Reed!” He smiles and laughs, with s slight snort at the end of it.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Corlith just shakes his head as he watches the scene, but has to admit sending them first was a very good idea, and likely to help their survivability.
"Well, after you Reed", he says not wanting to get between the master and his puppets.
Once Reed sets off, he will follow close behind, just in case the skeletons turn on him.
The three skeletons start heading in the direction Reed points and when he tells them to hold hands and skip, they pause, and they reach their hands out to one another. As the hands of the skeletons clasp and the knuckles fold, you hear the popping sound as they squeeze and a pinky falls to the ground. It moves around like a worm for a second and then goes quiet.
They attempt a skip at Reed's order, bumbling and crumpling a bit as they hit the ground with each hard step. As they reach the stairs though, they tumble down it and land in a large heap. They slowly knit back together as the party waits at the top of the stairs and once they are back to three skeletons, they attempt to continue to skip, knees coming loose at each bounce, ankles falling apart, once a jaw is knocked loose at the jarring. It is an excruciatingly long process as they try to skip their way along.
Turning the corner at the bottom of the stairs, they head North ten more feet and fall down another set of stairs, back into the sewer water... bones flying all making a large splashing sound as they land in the water in a big heap. The bones haltingly find their way back in place...
As the party stands at the top of the second set of stairs, a noxious odor reaches them. Something beyond the smell of the sewer, which by this time they have gotten accustomed to. The putrid stench almost smells like rotten eggs.
Wilfred chuckles a bit at the display by the skelotons. After they hit the water again, he will say to Reed "Alright, you had your fun. Let's just make them walk normal now. They are just going to splash about if you keep having them skip." When he starts smelling rotten eggs, he pulls the cloth back up over his mouth. "Alright, I told you all you should have gone before we left. Just kiddin', I know it wasn't any of you.... Was it?" Wilfred will listen to try to find out if anything else is down there. Perception14
Corlith doesn't react to Wilfred's joke about the smell, other than an almost imperceptible eye roll.
"I guess whatever is down there knows something is coming now. I would say by the smell whatever it is is long dead, but that doesn't seem to mean much down here", he says pointing at the skeletons.
He will also listen to see if there is anything to be heard ahead.
To keep track on which skeleton is which, (not that it matters) Ironmaiden walks up to and touches two of the skeletons skulls, leaving angry purple eyebrows on one and rosy red cheeks on a second, "there we go, that one is called inky," she points to the angry eyebrows one "that one pinky," then to the red cheeked one "and the plain one you can call anything you'd like, though I'm partial to Clyde."
As they slosh through the foul waste waters once more IronMaiden gets bored with keeping guard the entire time and starts playing with fire in her hands as she walks, the blinking of the flame in the dim light is likely annoying at best.
As Reed guesses 'gas' and the others seem to ignore the thought... Archie heads down amongst the skeletons and starts to draw on them. As she does, the gas build-up that has happened in this large chamber with the wooden beams ignites.
The explosion from the fire fills the chamber, eliminating the six wooden beams within, shaking the others in the adjacent chambers. Not noticing what she is doing, the IronMaiden takes the full blast of the fire (16 fire damage, halved due to resistance). Two of the skeletons are able to dodge the main burst of the fire and are severely singed (8 fire damage each) and the third is reduced to ashes.
Luckily, the rest of the party is high enough on the stairs not to be affected, but the heat of it all is seriously felt by Reed who now is sporting a lovely sunburn.
The roof of the chamber looks a bit shaky, and as you all hold your breath wondering if it is going to fall on Archie... it remains steady with several more cracks running along the ceiling.
You all hold your breath to see if anyone is coming after the loud surge of energy... but you hear no one.
Virro says “That smells like rotten … eggs?” He looks at Roo with a wrinkled up nose and a grin. Then the explosion hits, thankfully he is toward the rear, but says “Well, I guess they know we are coming now…”

As the explosion goes off, the point of origin is in Archie's hand. She is blown back and slams against the wall and knocked to her knees.
The orange and red flame inside the suit of armour gets small, real small. Then all at once it flares up again but this time blue, "DANGER!, DANGER!" a tinny voice echoes from within, but it is not the voice of Archie that the group is familiar with. IronMaiden gets up and stumbles over the bones and clumsily makes their way back to the stairs before the red flame grows once more, completely taking over the blue. Archie clutches her head, "wha... What just happened?"
"Reed was right, the smell was gas, which is apparently highly explosive", Corlith replies to Archie.
"It is a good job you are so used to flames, could have been a lot worse. Also, you sounded a little different for a moment there, and your flames turned blue", he says, not directing a question at her as such, but it is clear he is curious.
Reed sniffs the air a couple of times to see if the gas smell has gone now.
Perception: (8+5) = 13
"Okay, let's not do that again," Reed says as he touches the slightly singed skin on his cheeks and forehead. Then he points at the two remaining skeletons "How about you two wander down towards the end of the room there."
Reed directs the two remaining skeletons to head towards the northern end of the chamber that just exploded.

Reed cocks his head from side to side, trying to put everything together. Finally he nods and smiles after IronMaiden guesses at what's going on.
"Alright, the three of you," Reed says to the skeletons. "March ahead of us, that way, keeping 20' feet in front of us."
Reed points down the stairs to the east.
"Oh and hold hands and skip while you do it." Reed adds.

Reed laughs joyfully as the skeletons bumble along but in the end he agrees this will take way too long and be far too noisy if they keep it up.
”Good little skellies. You can walk normally now. Keep within 20’ for now but let’s keep moving.”
He almost gags at the smell of the rot coming towards them.
”Gas?”
Wilfred stairs intently down the stairs. Then he closes his eye and turns to listen. He then looks again. "Yea, I don't hear nothin down there."
“I don’t hear anything either, sounds like we are good to go”, Corlith says in agreement with Wilfred.
He makes sure his scented cloth is nice and tight, and tops it up if he has more scent left.
