"But why?", Corlith asks Odious. "Why did you help fund her? Were you summoned and bound by her, or sent to her aid? You are obviously a pawn, so the decision was not your own. Does the Duke serve Zariel?".
He looks around at all the commotion, his head shaking in frustration that once again his companions had ploughed on. He really should have expected it by now, but still.
Seeing the back of Archie's armour disappear through the secret door, and the sounds of battle in that room, he looks up at Wilfred, Virro and Reya. "We've got this, feel free to go and see if they need help".
He then turns his attention back to Odious, "Well?" he asks now distracted.
Wilfred sits on the ground as the others get to work. "Just give me a minute. Need to catch my breath. Phew, not as young as I used to be." (Heals 11 with second wind). "Alright, I'll help you all with the statue." Wilfred gets up just as he hears something, and then Archie goes running. "Oh, well, something needs hitting, at least. Back to work! Hup hup!"
Seeing that Corlith is now distracted, Odius keeps his eyes on the rooster as he remarks, "Why do you care? Why don't you go ask her yourself, your friends probably are going to need help."
With his wrists manacled and knowing he probably doesn't have long to live, he swings out with his tail towards Corlith, hitting him with disadvantage for 10 piercing damage.
Seeing and hearing the thunderous damage from Corlith reach out and strike Odious after the tail whip, Virro smiles and says “Good. Won’t have to bother with you anymore..”. He moves to the southwest as far as he can, trying to get a look at this old woman who is attacking Reed. He points his gloved hand at her and a ghostly hand shoots forward to try and strangle her neck.
Chill touch : 10 to hit, for 5 points of necrotic damage.
Wilfred rushes past everyone beating up a tied up creature. He gets through the secret door and wastes no time to attack. His glaive swings out and make solid contact with her knee, causing her to fall.
"Good, now surrender before... What the hell?" Wilfred just manages to twist out of the way of some flames. He uses the momentum of his dodge to viciously slam his glaive down on the old woman. "Have it your way." He spins his glaive and attacks with the butt, but misjudges and misses his attack.
Attack: to hit Nat 20, Tripping Attack (DC 14 strength or prone), damage 28 slashing.
Action surge: GWM Attack, To Hit 16, damage 23 slashing.
Wilfred slashes at Thalmalra's knee and cuts a deep gash in her thigh, making her fall. She fires back at him with her hellish rebuke, and even though Wilfred manages to twist away from the flames, he gets licked (6 fire dam)
Between Reed calling out about the old woman which he presumed to be the Duke and Odious backchatting Roo, Corlith is now completely distracted and doesn't see the attack coming. Thankfully he is still for the most part protected, but that protection recoils down the fiends tail like an earthquake vibrating it's very bones.
Roo looks stunned as Odious tries to attack Corlith and, consequently, is killed in the process. He stands there, beak agape, unsure of what to do, and feeling very stupid for not thinking about the monster's tail.
"Cluck."
His eyes turn, his fury redirected, for the moment, but the appearance of the Duke. Duchess. Whatever.
"You say the Duke is in there?" Roo says, slowly walking toward the room where he/she/it is, the Owl's Talon in one hand. He doesn't shrug his shield off his shoulder. This time, Fog Horn's shield slides into place on his forewing. "I think the Duke owes me some answers too. Did you hear the good news, Duke? We killed your stupid pet. Lots of them. Couple of your dumb kids too. What's the old saying, buck? A comb for a comb? A beak for a beak? Now it's your turn."
As Roo steps close enough to see into the room, he begins sensing out any of those hidden demon critters this hell-hole has been so fond of having around...
Action- Divine Sense: As an action, you can detect good and evil. Until the end of your next turn, you can sense anything affected by the hallow spell or know the location of any celestial, fiend, undead within 60 ft. that is not behind total cover. You can use this feature 5 times per long rest.
Reya follows the rest into the room, but can't get into far. Seeing they have cornered the Duke and they were blocking the only way out, Reya relaxed a bit.
"You! What have you done with Thavius Kreeg! Tell me, or... these people will do terrible things to you!" obviously threats were not big in Reya's repertoire, she tries and then dodges for her action.
Corlith shakes his head at Odious, and moves across to stand in the corner by the door, possibly bumping into Reed. If he gets eyes on the Duke he will also call out.
"You are surrounded and alone, Duke Vanthampur", he says, his tone showing his contempt as he says her name. "Time to surrender and answer our questions".
He switches to infernal, "You have no other choice, except death and failure".
Movement: Effectively to where Reed is, or on square north if they cannot share Action: Persuasion: 17+7=24
Undeterred, Archie gives chase, not letting the secret door even close before she is through it. As soon as Archie is within 15 ft of the duke she pushes her hands forwards and touches her thumbs together sparking a rush of heat to surge forward and then ignite.
(Full movement giving chase and the casting burning hands, Dc15 Dex save or 11 fire damage, or 5 on a save)
Spinning around, The Duke looks at a mirror of herself again and her face contorts in anger. The flames from the fire genasi engulf the woman and she screams in pain and frustration. In retaliation, she raises her hands and sends her hellish rebuke.
Reed poke his head around the corner in time to see the Arch-Duke run through a second doorway.
He slips past Roo, then through Virro's legs and darts across the room, giving chase, but his small legs only let him get across the room. He keeps to the side, not impeding the others and their long legs that will let them give chase.
Virro shouts out “My Lady, let me protect you!” Continuing the ruse long past its usefulness because he feels that it is fun, protecting his “Archie-Lady”. He uses his speed to head south through the door and into the hallway, ending up just east of Archie, “protecting” her. He draws his rapier as he moves and skewers the Duke. After he strikes, he twists the blade and a dark energy flows from Virro through his sword and into the Duke as Virro grins a snaggle toothed grin.
Rapier : 21 to hit, for 6 points of piercing damage. With the hit, he uses his Touch of Death feature to funnel 11 more points of necrotic damage into the Duke, for a total of 17 points.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Virro skewers the plump lady’s abdomen with his rapier and the dark energies start to consume her. He does not mind a bit that her bowels evacuate as she hits the floor, he stands over her pulling his sword out and a thin line of spittle drips down onto her face. “Now give me those dentures!” he says with glee as he bends down, pulls open her mouth and pops them out, putting them into his second pouch. “In you go, my dear.” Then he turns and looks at Archie, puffing his chest forward in pride.

Corlith sighs as the Duke speaks her retort and runs out another concealed doorway. As some of the others follow, he himself wanders into the room and looks about. A secret altar room must have something of interest.
Archie laughs at Virro as he stands proud with his dental trophy, "you got some issues my man" she chuckles and begins picking over the dukes pockets for any cool stuff. (7 investigation) Archie calls back to the rest of the group, "hey! does anyone else wanna check this woman's pockets?, her damn dress keeps getting caught in my gloves!"
Reed comes over to Archie-Duke and Virro, turning his head from side to side while he looks at the now toothless grin.
He then starts rummaging around in the dead duke's pockets. Methodically going through each ruffle and pocket.
Reed looks up at the air directly above the dead duke.
"Please stop yelling at me," Reed says patiently. "You're dead and that's not going to help. Go talk to Amrik and Thurstie and they'll fill you on how that works."

"There's a really angry old woman in there," Reed says as the arrow take off.
He then dips behind the edge of the door, hoping to avoid further bolts of electricity.

In all the commotion, he completely loses focus on locating other fiends.
