Adelle thinks for a moment at Xondario's words, and as much as she didn't want to go back into the Temple... It wasn't a terrible idea. She looks up at the reactions and expressions of the others and waits for her turn to speak up. "Xon doesn't have a terrible idea... However, it won't be easy to move her, and we definitely shouldn't leave her alone... So if we're going to setup a base... One should stay behind with her until we find more survivors to stay with her... If there are any left..."
"I will carry her," Gorm states. "We should leave nobody alone. At least together there will be others to step up until I set her down and draw my weapons. With just one with her she would be vulnerable if two attacked at once.
Dorm steps back into the residence giving Adelle a wide berth as he moves over to the mother. "Sooner is better than later, I would think." He kneels besides the mother but pauses and looks to Jenira. "May I? I will be as gentle as is possible, I swear to you."
"Slow down Grom, we are in no position to start moving, um I'm not sure I caught her name. Anyways I agree we can't leave her alone but she's in no shape to be carried around from skirmish to skirmish either. So I say we go in shifts, 3 of us clear the town and 2 stay back where we set up camp, as we gather supplies or find more survivors, we change up who out and who caring for them. We can rest between our turns exploring and she won't be left alone." He stands up and looks out the window. "I don't know the layout or status of the temple, or what shape the inn is at the moment, but Adelle might be able to rule one out from what she knows. But beds and space is a good start for a base.
I know no other way of keeping Jenira's mother safe and checking the town short of a one man scouting trip."
Gorm stands and looks to Xondario with some frustration, but then takes a deep breath and steadies himself. "There are dangers in either course of action, I admit," Gorm says in a steady voice. "But dividing out numbers divides our strength. It is not ideal but I believe she is safest with all of us with her at least until we can get her behind doors that lock and within walls not crumbled..."
Gorm knows Xondario to be the only other true combatant in this small groups and thinks it best if they stay together to fight any other scavengers they may encounter but thinks it too hazardous to leave a second group without at least one of them. He then looks to Alyssa and knows he does not want to leave her behind again. Gorm looks to the newest member, Adelle, but quickly looks away for fear of offending her. Finally he looks to Jenira.
"She is your mother. I am sure her safety is your utmost concern right now. I will leave the decision to you... Whatever you feel is best for her we shall try to make work," Gorm says.
"Nothing about this situation is ideal ..." Jenira pauses taking in a deep breath to settle herself. "I don't want to leave my mother alone no matter what happens. We - we should probably move somewhere more secure first." She gently turns Adelle to face her. "Adelle, do you know which is in better condition. The inn? or the temple?" While she waits for a response she faces Gorm and Xondario, "One step at a time. Once we have found a better place to hole up we will figure out what to do next. In the meantime I could use your help doing a quick once over of my home for any personal items while I work with Adelle." She looks at them all imploringly. "Please?"
Adelle thinks for a moment... She hadn't seen the Inn since she left and she only knew the Temple was in fairly good condition. "The Temple, where I was tied up is still in.. Fairly decent condition, as good as it can be in this type of situation."
“Any place specifically I should look? Any particular items you are looking for?” Gorm asks, more than willing to do some busy work while Jenira tries to decide what she wants to do.
Gorm will search where directed and use his best judgement on what to grab and what to leave. Items of value and use get the most consideration of portable but he also realizes she may want items of sentimental value as well. He’ll grab what he can but he’s not looking to help her move house… he already suspects the biggest threats have moved past this town already..,
Alyssa had already posed the possibilities to Jenira while the others were out. Now back together, new and old, the discussion sparks again. She glances up from her notes when Xondario begins giving his orders and directions. Lyssa simply adjusts her glasses, then returns to her notes. Not everyone is going to agree. She sure didn’t. But, it wasn’t her decision to make, nor did she feel required any more at this point to remain behind.
“I’m interested in the Temple.” Alyssa breaks her silence to share her opinion for what it was worth. “Preliminary hypothesis is that evidence seems reminiscent of Cloud Palace and Cloud Giants. However, my knowledge is limited, thus best if I study to learn more.” She snaps her book closed, then stands expectantly at the doorway.
(Silly question, did we confirm who was ringing the bell? Was it Adelle?)
"Wait flying castles is actually a thing. Never seen one of them before." Xondario looks a tad puzzle by the idea of a floating castle, with giants living in them. But he shakes it off and resumes looking for any useful supplies to stuff in the sack he has.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Just look for small personal items, things that are easily carried. Plus anything that may be useful." Jenira glances around the room they are in to see if she spots anything specific that they should grab. "We should start moving as soon as possible if that is what we are going to do."
At Alyssa's words she turns to her, "Giants? Giants did this? ... mmhmmm" She does her best to try and think if she has heard any stories about giants and flying castles.
After everyone has done a quick run through of the house she moves to Gorm. "I appreciate your offer to carry my mother and would be very thankful if you helped me move her." She finishes with a small incline of her head.

Adelle, with lute in hand, does not look through the house, instead, she sits in the doorway. While the others look through the house, a feeling comes over her, a feeling of sadness over what occurred in this town only days before. She lifts the lute up, runs her fingers along the strings and begins to strum. Slowly one note at a time until she finds a rhythm.
"Round my hometown Memories are fresh 'Round my hometown Ooh the people I've met Are the wonders of my world Are the wonders of my world Are the wonders of this world Are the wonders of now"
Gorm nudges Xondario to get his attention. With a quick nod of his head towards Adelle he then says in a hushed voice “I thought we didn’t want to give away our position?” Gorm didn’t think he’d be the best one to bring the point up with the young lady.. .
When the group is ready to leave Gorm will of course carry Jenira’s mother as gently as he can. She’s frail but looks plenty light enough. She should be fine with a bit of care.
Xondario whispers back, "the lack of bell ringing will be more of warning that someone here, plus she's been here longer then us and fairing better too." He points to his arrow wound and Groms bite marks.
He smirks and says "Besides they are much easier to find when they come to us."
Alyssa nods to Jenira's words, ears open eager to listen should she have any historical knowledge to share. Truthfully the longer they continue to poke around the house the more she felt eager to get moving. The more time that passes, the more innocent victims could be lost and the more knowledge lost. Lyssa would shift her weight to the other foot, spotting the untouched items Gorm had uncovered. She'd choose to busy herself with inventorying them in detail and packing them neatly into her supplies as she waited for the others.
Regarding loot, Grom found but is not taking any of:
three blocks of incense
silver holy symbol in the shape of a unicorn's head
various worthless personal effects
a sack containing three empty vials and a small
unlocked box containing 15sp and 37cp.
a pouch containing a plain gold ring, and an elaborate ring of a silvery metal you can't identify, embossed with the emblem of a flowery shield, still looped on a broken silvery chain
a pouch containing 5cp
The half-elf would begin with respectfully package the incense and the holy symbol together, ignoring the worthless personal effects. Once she finished noting the other items with their descriptions, she would do a little rearranging and organizing. Lyssa would combine all the coin found into one pouch (15sp, 42cp), transfer all the jewelery into the unlocked box and carefully store the vials into the other pouch. From here she would store all off these into the sack, labeling it 'Nightstone'.
Religion on holy symbol: 10
Should there be nothing else to inventory, with Jenira's mom being carried by Gorm and assuming everyone has completed their tasks, Alyssa would correct her glasses which glitter slightly with magic. "Time to move." Eyes and ears open, she'd step out of the doorway to begin heading towards the temple.
