Xondario rounds the rock and swings his maul at the worg. The heavy head of the weapon connects with a thud that stops the worg in its tracks from a full gallop. It shakes its head as its blurred vision returns. It locks eyes with Xondario and returns the growl, deep and laden with malice.
Alyssa and Jenira, happy for either of you to go next, and Gorm goes last.
Alyssa corrects her glasses as her blue hues fall over the sights before her. Air leaves her lungs in a gasp as she’s met with the reality, and with that comes the adrenaline. Thump thump. Thump thump. Thump thump. The sound of her own heart beating fills her ears, slowing things down. She needed to do something. She needed to help. But she dare not get in the way of the seasoned warriors.
Steeling herself, Alyssa takes a deep breath while positioning herself behind cover. Taking hold of her pendant at her chest she then begins to hum, channeling calm and focus. First it was low, but then grew in depth and melody, cutting through the chaos to reach the ears of others. The angelic tone embraces the listener, soothing their flight instincts, so they can focus on their fighting and defend any innocents.
Seeing Xondario moving up and engaging the creature on the right, Jenira focuses her attention on that one. 'Not him. Not anyone else.' Unconsciously moving towards Xondario a few steps, another beam of white light releases from Jenira. "Just STOP!!!" It flashes towards the creature. If you look closely you can tell that while white in color, the magic moves and behaves like fire, burning what it touches.
-- Action: Casting Fire Bolt Attack: 25 Damage: 13 Plus Bless: 2
-- Favored by the Gods (if needed): 7
-- Movement: 10 ft directly down on the map. Equidistant to both creatures.
The white fire courses past Alyssa and Xondario, striking the worg cleanly in the side of the head. Flame flowers on the impact and encircles the worg's head and neck, crackling and spitting. It shakes it's head violently, pawing at its face as if it could pull the fire loose, but to no avail. It collapses, dead, eyes wide, skin smoking.
With a quick glance back at Alyssa in order to confirm to himself that she is doing her best to take shelter, Gorm eyes the beast and moves towards it. As he does he notes a wave of energy envelope him... something almost uplifting and empowering. Something he'll think about later...
Even about to engage his enemy Gorm notes the heavy, wet thud... He doesn't see it happen but his mind's eye fills in the blank of Xondario and his hammer connecting with the other creature. That doesn't explain the scent of burning flesh but Jenira's screams might? Perhaps there is more to these woman than he has yet realized. But that too is for later...
For now, Gorm smoothly moves into combat with the remaining beast. His steps are fluid and graceful, his swords spinning and flashing in a dizzying show. He steps forward, his movement forcing the beast back. He steps to the side to look for an opening and the beast responds with a mirroring movement. Gorm steps back, inviting his foe to step recklessly forward... It is like a dance between the fighters with the swords the tune to which they moved...
Longsword Attack: To hit - 12 (with bless) for 13 damage

Swords of that length do not lend themselves to being easily wielded in this manner, one in each hand - the technique requires a great deal of both strength and manual dexterity. Gorm clearly has both as the swords form an aura of steel around him, and he spins and dances towards the beast.
However, wielding two swords is very different from wielding a single sword, and the technique must still use a little work. Perhaps Gorm has not had much opportunity to practice on living creatures, because where he expects the worg to be it suddenly isn't. It leaps backwards just enough that the spinning blades pass right in front of its snarling face.
The remaining worg lunges through the spinning blades, mouth full of sharp teeth dripping with saliva.
Bite: 21; damage 11
A gap in Gorm's form allows the beast through, and he suddenly finds it on top of him, teeth embedded in his shoulder, attempting to force him to the ground.
Gorm, please make a DC 13 STR save, or be knocked Prone.
(Mechanically they can't share the same space so it isn't directly over him, but it's looming extremely closely, close enough for Gorm to feel its stinking breath and droplets of saliva hitting his face as it growls down at him. The Bite attack isn't an ongoing Grapple so it bit, pulled him to the ground, and let go.)
Xondario has to shield his eyes as the bright flames go streaking past him and lighting up his foe. Seeing the beast fall he glances over his shoulder and see the other beast scoring a solid hit on the tiefling fellow, knocking him off his feet. Xondario side steps and doing a full 360 and swing the Maul all the way around so that when Xondario steps up next to the beast the Maul comes all the way around , parallel to the prone tiefling and trying to crash into the front the of worg (attempting to push the worg back 5ft using Crusher feat if attack is successful).

Alyssa's melody continues softly in the background amidst the snarls of combat and despite the smell of burning flesh. Blue hues lock on the worg. The half-elf raises her hand to the air as the colour in her eyes grow in vibrancy like a building storm. "Lótesse sina runya poica thime fea!" Bringing her hand down in one swift motion, A calls forth a sacred blue flame to come crashing down.

Jenira circles around towards the body of the creature she just killed eyes locked on the confrontation on the other side of the rock. 'No one else is going to die. They need to' "STOP!!" She finishes her thought with another yell out loud. This time the panic has turned to determination. When she has a clear view on the second creature and white flash releases, just a moment behind the blue flames.
"Watha!" Gorm spits out in disgust as he picks himself up off the ground, eyes narrowed with anger and aimed directly at the beast that threw him down like he was nothing. Gorm spares a quick glance at Xondario, "Next time you take the mean one!" he sneers, then moves to the beast and dances around it until he's as far away from the other fighter as possible.
((Using the 15 movement left after getting up to enter melee with the animal and then shift around it to try to get into flanking with Xondario... Not sure if 15 ft is enough movement, also not sure if we are even using flanking, so will roll attacks normally and note second roll just in case...))
Longsword Attack: 14(or Nat 20 for 28if advantage for flanking) To Hit, 9Damage (or 11if advantage...)
It is safe to say that between you this worg doesn't stand a chance. Blue flame pours down on the beast from the air above it like a waterfall; another mote of pure white fire blossoms at its nape; and a final sword blow lodges in its thickly muscled neck. For a second the worg doesn't seem to know that it is dead - it stands stock still, tongue lolling, eyes unfocused, before Gorm places his foot on its flank and forcibly removes his sword. It slowly falls to one side, and lays still.
Silence returns to Nightstone, aside from the Temple bell.
bong-bong, bong-bong
You've now seen a little of what you all can do. Perhaps it is not surprising that the very fit man with two swords is skilled in swordsmanship, or that the large man with the maul can hit things very hard. The use of magic is probably a little more surprising - such things are known in Faerun, albeit not commonly. Every little village does not have a magic shop.
It's a big hit!
