Suddenly, you all hear the tolling of bell's, and the double doors all begin to slowly creak open, and out walks a grey-haired man with glasses, a cane in his hand as he walks out. The crowds all hushed as the headmaster walked out, and greeted the crowd, waving, "Well, hello there." Professor Libreth adjusted the glasses on his nose, before saying, "I'll keep this brief. You all have traveled here today in search of knowledge, to hone your craft and acquire new skills, and when you have finished, you plan to accomplish your goals that you have set for yourself after your time here. But I look at all of you, and all I see is wasted energy, in need of purpose, or direction, whatever you may call it. You assume knowledge will free you of this, but your time at this school will prove that knowledge can only take you so far. And so, in order to find the key that will set you even further, it is up to you to take the first steps to finding such path. That will be all."
Professor Libreth then walks back inside the monastery entrance, and the staff then start to organize the crowd, and pretty soon, the four of you end up getting grouped together, and are now being given a tour of the monastery. The monastery is much, much more bigger then the ones that you have all been to before, and altough it is a simple structure, it somehow gives off a air of extravagance. You have all been taking into these rooms, and now know their location: Dining room, a spacious room that would certainly be able to fit each of the students. Training yard, a outdoor yard meant for sparring, physical combat training, and the like. The science room, led by Mrs. love, a short but upbeat human, who teaches chemistry, biology, etc. Mathematical room, led by Mr. Young, a hill dwarf who is rather tall for a dwarf, who alwaly's seems to have a cup of some kind of drink in it. He teaches arithmatic, algeabra, etc. The English room, led by Mrs. Girthwood, a female goliath who teaches languages, how to write in them, alongside grammar, vocabulary, arts, etc. And then there is Mr. Sun, a Eladrin elf who teaches in the history room, and also doubles as the teacher of physical education.
"Ah I see." Shugo replies to Huzar, "You do look like the sort who's seen a lot of trouble." His smile never wavers nor does his tone of voice making it hard to tell if by 'trouble' he means the cause of it or it's victim.
His head swivels around as Miko appears from behind the giant woman. "Why ARE you dirty? I don't recall you having dirt on your hands in--" Before he can continue the huge doors open drawing his attention away from the small woman.
He stops squinting so he can examine the headmaster. Wasted energy? In need of a purpose? Huh?! He doesn't need a new purpose, his goal is to bring stability to his family and in turn the fiefdom they govern! What better purpose than that? Is this guy saying he should be shooting higher? He squints again. Whatever, as long as this place provides something he can use, that's all that matters.
As his little group is paired up, his close-lipped smile finally transforms into a full-on grin. "Hah! Well, I suppose we were destined to meet here today my friends!"
He remains silent through the tour, clearly drinking in all the information provided and storing it away in the vaults of his mind for later use. Once the tour is over he looks around, then looks back at his new group members. "Well...now what?"
The tour guide, a stout halfing, replies, "These are just a few of them, but of course there are many more. We've just haven't had enough time to show you the entire academy yet. However, if you ever decide to explore more of it, just remember to do it at your own risk, not even I know whats inside the entire academy, and I've been here for 30 years already!"
Huzur looks down at the halfling guide then back at the class rooms they have passed.
"You have shown us physical knowledge teaching spaces," Huzur says then adds "but this is the Monastery of Universal Knowledge. That is a bold claim. What does universal knowledge mean here?"
Huzur looks around at their surroundings again. Perhaps he should have investigated this place more before coming but he's here now and has been invited through the gates.
The tour guide smiled, and replied, "Ah, so many have asked that question, and although from what I've shown so far may not be to your expectations, it is only those who are actually worthy of such knowledge that gain it. And none of these students, no not even one, has been deemed worthy. Yet."
"So that includes you?" Shugo pipes in."I'm guessing you were a student here once as well? And what about the headmaster? Wasn't he a student here to begin with? Or was he just always the headmaster?"
Nargun had a hard time following Shugos rapid fire questions and distracted herself with examining the foundations of the monastery and the other students around them. Part of her was wondering why her Guru had insisted she come here, that there was more she must do but another part was interested in the possibilities here.
"So that includes you?" Shugo pipes in."I'm guessing you were a student here once as well? And what about the headmaster? Wasn't he a student here to begin with? Or was he just always the headmaster?"
"Yes," The tourist guide replied, "Yes I was as student here before, and have gained this 'universal knowledge,' but I will be the first to tell you that it was not an easy task. No, not even close to hard. It was beyond that. But believe me, you will leave this school far more greater then when you entered it, whether you've gained it or not. And the headmaster Professor Libreth was a student here as well before, but if I were to give my opinion, the knowledge and skill of each of the teachers here combined pales in comparision to the headmaster.
The young elf scratches his head, squinting at the guide. Oh! He meant these students, not all students. Of course. That makes so much more sense. Looping his thumbs into his belt, he continues, "Beyond hard? Pshhh. We'll see about that. Anyway, can we get on with the important stuff now? Like our schedules or something? When is our first class? And when do we get to eat? I'm so hungry." As if to confirm, a loud grumble sounds from his stomach.
"Ahh, yes, yes indeed," The guide said, and handed the group a piece of paper, which held their schedule, their classes, and room.
"Oh!" the guide remembered, "By the way, the four of you will be sharing a room, but do not worry, it is more than big enough for the four of you. Lunch will be in 20 minutes at the dining hall."
Huzur wasn't sure what he had expected about this monastery but a formal school was not it. But perhaps all monastery's were like this.
He looks around at the others.
"Were your past monastery's like this?" Huzur asks. "Classrooms and teachers?"
Huzur eyes their guide more closely as he speaks, which his pulse in his neck, the size of his eyes, searching for any sign of hidden meaning or lying.
The tourist guide replies, "Oh, certainly not, most monastery's are not like this, but here we strive to teach many monks about the outside world, and to do that they must learn what so many others have learned that we monks have deprived ourselves of. However, the classes and teachers are one of the few things that does not belong in the monastery. You will surely find out later on."
Huzur, you are not able to detect any signs of lies or hidden meaning
Suddenly, you all hear the tolling of bells, and the guide says, "Oh, that is the 5 minute warning that lunch is almost coming. The four of you must hurry along now."
Miko's dirty hand appears from behind Nargun and waves.
"I'm here!" she calls. "I may be small, but I'm a giant's shadow today."
She moves around Nargun - still brushing herself off - to join the conversation. She listens to Huzur and nods gravely.
"The Fire teaches us: too much kindling may smother a flame. In the same way, too many thoughts may smother the mind."
Huzur looks closely at Mimi.
”Why are you dirty?”
OOC: I can only imagine Miko looking like 😑
Miko looks down at the state of her clothes and sighs like 😑, her cheeks coloring slightly.
"It is a lesson. Maybe," she says without conviction.

Nargun didn't see anything different about Miko.
" These will be our teachers?'
The tour guide, a stout halfing, replies, "These are just a few of them, but of course there are many more. We've just haven't had enough time to show you the entire academy yet. Nargun smiled at Shugo, with them around there was no need for anyone else to ask anything.
Just the way she liked it.
Miko reads through the list of classes as she follows along. What are they?
Huzur wasn't sure what he had expected about this monastery but a formal school was not it. But perhaps all monastery's were like this.

" This is my first monastery."
" Lunch sounds good."
