A small smile crosses Mythe's lips at Aodh's introduction - a rare expression for the cold-hearted noble. "A pleasure to meet you, Aodh." She extends a pale, dainty hand. "It seems I'm finally sharing a tower with someone with proper manners. A delightful surprise, indeed." She looks pointedly at Hin. She is not smiling, but her expression does not seem to be entirely serious. Still, given the high-elf's nature, it's hard for the newcomers to decipher whether or not she is joking. Hin, however, may be able to see the slight sparkle in her eyes, and know she is only teasing.
"That would be lovely, thank you Hin dear." Mythe begins to carry her possessions up the stairs, leaving Hin to carry the rest. "I don't particularly mind which room. They're all the same, after all."
She claims a room and spends a while re-decorating, carefully placing each item just-so, until her room looks exactly as it did previously. She then returns back to the common room, joining Hin and Kaelen at the table.
"Excuse you, Mytheaian of Kaethius, but I have manners galore." He stands up and bows in the most disgustingly 'fancy' manner, rotating his wrist in a circular flourish fifty times too many as he bends down as far as he can reach---until he accidentally smacks his hand on the floor. "God ffff... ow." Flicking his hand in pain, he chuckles. He walks over to carry the rest of Mythe's belongings.
Once he's done ferrying Mythe's stuff to her room, he'll leave her to redecorate and go back downstairs.

He sits down at the table and begins laying out a hand of solitaire, keeping one eye on the pot. "So I suppose we're tower mates now?" He says to Hin, expertly flicking his hands over the cards, "That should be interesting. Who'd you room with before?"

Kaelen just stops for a second putting his finger at the spot he is at in his book to mark it before he looks up, his violet eyes staring at Hin “Simple for me. Ever since I was a kid, I liked to just tinker with things and had a fascination with gravity and the forces that moved the world around us. So, when the time came to pick my school of magic, I couldn’t help but learn this school of magic. Though really, I just like tinkering with things and would love to modify spells and make my own. So, what better place than this school.”
Kaelen just stares at the interaction with Mythe and just smirks a little. He wasn’t surprised by the actions of her. He just keeps his mouth shut from making any comments knowing it wouldn’t be appropriate or helping create a good environment. He just goes back to reading his book as he waits for the rest to return.
Twigmund frowns at Kaelen as the half-elf turns away. Asking for clarification was a far cry from questioning the decisions of the faculty. Maybe it didn't matter. He runs a hand through his messy hair and pours the boiling water into several cups, careful not to bump into Aodh and their kettle.
"This is Goodberry Tea," he says. "Sweet, tangy, just a hint of bitterness. Pairs nicely with sitting down, good conversation, and doing very little. May I have a sip of whatever sort you're making when it's done?"
Classes this morning had been oppressive in the fallout of Aramil's party, but the strange rearrangement of living quarters had woken Twigmund up and he was keen to get acquainted with the others.
Tea poured, the young transmutor uses mage hand to pass the cups around the room to those who want it, uses prestidigitation to clean his kettle, and pulls a armchair over to the table to get comfy.
He politely listens in on the conversations and drains his drink, keeping an eye on the various interactions with interest. He takes a second to look at the leaves. Could that be a… a tree? A rabbit? Some dark omen? Maybe, maybe not. For a moment he wishes he had a knack for divination. It wouldn't be the last time.

Pleasure to make your various acquaintances and all that." He picks up his stuff from his pile and begins to head upstairs when he hears Twigmund's suggestion to pay a visit to the Towermaster. "I agree with the hungover one. If this is a mistake, we should get it sorted out sooner rather than later. We won't be punished for just asking."
Hulrus continues upstairs, taking a room on the second floor of the tower. Various de-organization noises can be heard from the ceiling in the common room, as Hulrus sets his living space just how he likes it. When he arrives back downstairs a few minutes later, followed by his bat, he has an inexplicable amount of dust on his clothes. He moves over towards the door leading out of the tower before addressing the room. "If anyone would like to join me and D'numkrall to see the Towermaster, I think we'd best be going soon."

Twigmund sips Aodh's tea and nods approvingly. "A goodly peppermint, that," he says. He chuckles in genuine amusement. "Change doesn't trouble me, Aodh, but it does give me trouble. Silverwood may hope we reach transmuter stones this term, but that's only if we perfect the fundamentals of minor alchemy. This change of residence is just odd, that's all. Don't you have questions? Do you want to come with me to visit Edna?"
Twigmund raises his empty teacup in salute to Hulrus.
"I'm with you!" he calls. He stands up, sways only slightly, and makes ready to leave the tower.
“I suppose we are, Aodh.” Hin pokes at Calo absentmindedly, and it climbs onto his finger. “Mythe’s been the only one I’ve stayed towermates with since we both got here. Barburry, Urtrogall, Donavera, and later, Laurence were my first towermates. Urtrogall, unfortunately had to leave early on, and Laurence took his room.” He sighs. “I miss them, they were good friends. We met Thul, The Loreweaver, together. What fun. Remember that, Mythe?”
Turning his full attention to Kaelen, Hin listens intently on his story. “Seems like we were both drawn pretty strongly to our respective schools. Do you have anything you’ve tinkered on you, any examples of what you enjoy making?”
He graciously takes Twigmund’s Goodberry Tea, taking a small sip and humming in delight. “That’s brilliant, Twigmund. Thank you.”
As Hulrus again talks about going to the Towermaster and another agrees, Kaelen just looks in his direction “Why take the risk over such a trivial matter as what tower we are in?” he asks looking at the man “Is it such a serious matter that you would risk her taking it as a sign that you can’t handle it and then getting expelled the second you asked the question? Personally, I don't care or mind why I'm in this tower with you all. I'm just glad to be here and have other things to worry about like my studies.”
He just looks around trying to figure out himself why they would pair different schools together “Could it be that they wanted us to learn from each other? If we merely roomed with those in our class, we might develop blind spots, this way we are exposed to other schools learning their strengths, weaknesses, how we can help our fellow wizards when paired together to make up for these, and maybe learn things from the way they think that overall help us in our study.”
When Hin asks, he smiles excitedly wide as he shut his book placing a marker in it. He opens up the cover and pulls out two sheets of paper putting them next to each other, his voice raising from the excitement “Actually I’m working on tinkering with a spell right now. You see graviturgy doesn’t have really any cantrips, so I’m working right now to tinker with the spell firebolt into a bolt of gravity-based energy that launches out. It’s kind of what my family does supposedly.”If Hin looks at the paper the first one is basic instructions on casting firebolt, what is needed, and the arcane breakdown of the spell. The second sheet looks similar with some modifications and things still missing.
When he realizes the excitement that has taken over him, he quickly calms down rubbing the back of his head as he blushes “Sorry I just get excited about this. My mother used to tell me that our family’s last name was given to our ancestors because they were skilled at weaving magical energies together to create beautiful and intricate spells. So, I figured I should keep up the tradition, but not only that I want to help create new spells in the field of graviturgy as well. I don’t know if it’s true or not, but ifnot, maybe I can make it true.”He then just pulls back his sleeve a little showing a watch off "I also made this."

Personally, I don't care or mind why I'm in this tower with you all. I'm just glad to be here and have other things to worry about like my studies.”
Hulrus gives a bit of a frustrated look towards Kaelen at the remark. "Way I sees it, there are two options. Either we get this whole situation, which has in no way been explained to us and could just be somebody's oopsie, cleared up, or we get the golden opportunity to leave a school crazy enough to expel students for asking questions. The lady's title is Towermaster, what the hell is she supposed to be doing if not addressing this kind of thing? You can stay here and respect your holy unwritten wizard-code to Under No Circumstances Let People Do Their Jobs, but I'm going. "No thank you," says Aodh politely to Twigmund "Though the sudden change is odd, I am quite content with the current state of things. Besides, you know how the saying goes, 'too many cooks in the kitchen' and all that. I trust you and Hulrus have the situation sufficiently handled."

I used to portray Krathian, Q'ilbrith, Jim, Tara, Turin, Nathan, Tench, Finn, Alvin, and other characters in various taverns.
Hulrus and Twigmund, the two of you step out of your tower into the bright midday sun. As you leave the tower grounds heading for the grand hall, where you're sure Towermaster Edna is, you walk through the courtyard, once more taking view of the statues of the three founders displayed in all their might.
The first statue is that of Iris, the Oracle. She has curled hair to the shoulders, large rubies inlaid for eyes, a billowing cloak, and a set of ornate robes, both gold leaf gilded around the edges. The elbows are tucked into the sides, arms in front, holding a large crystal orb. You can see raw arcane power swirling around within the orb. The next statue is of Thul, the Loreweaver, a handsome human man, ornate robes and cloak gold leaf gilded, similarly to Iris. You see a mess of shaggy hair on his head, large sapphires inlaid for eyes, holding a tome in one hand and a quill in the other. He's presented in a pose as if preparing to write something into the tome. The last statue is Sezira, the Architect, a female half-orc. Long dreadlocks, billowing in the same direction as her fur mantled cloak; with large emeralds inlaid for eyes. Beneath the cloak, you see furs covering the majority of her body. Similarly to the other two statues, the cloak and furs are gold leaf gilded around the defined edges. She holds a chisel in one hand and a hammer in the other, in a striking pose, as if to be carving something from a block. All three statues stand about 30 feet tall, and at night appear to be mystically lit.
You continue through the court yard and up the steps of the grand hall and enter the building. As you're walking down the halls, admiring the paintings and busts of both the present and former Keepers of the Observatory, you spot a young fire genasi child skipping through the halls. Shortly after, you spot a familiar older halfling women, walking briskly with a cane. You know this to be Towermaster Edna. She turns and speaks as the two of you approach her. "Do you require some assistance?"
The rest of you stay behind in the tower, continuing to drink tea, talk, study, or even nap.
(OOC:Hin, Mythe, Kaelen, Aodh feel free to continue any rp you'd like to do while Hulrus and Twigmund are out)
Twigmund gestures to Hulrus and himself. "Good afternoon, Towermaster. We just discovered our brooches have redirected to a new tower. Our belongings were there as well, and - well - we were hoping you could help us figure out why. Have we been moved? Is this because of the recent graduations? I… I may have missed the announcement, I'm afraid."
Hulrus quickly appends Twigmund's explanation with a few further details. "Six people are in the new tower, and all are basically strangers except two, who apparently lived together already. Heen and Mytheaeaean of House Kay-Something. Also, there was a man named Kaleb what had a thing for purple and a fellow called Adoh with some good liquor. And of course, yours truly and Twigman here got put in there as well.
"If you know what's going on, we'd just like some clarification. Or preferably for it to be fixed."

"ah, yes" Edna listens as you both speak "I received word of that as it was happening, but after classes had been released for the day." She looks partially annoyed as she says this. "We've had quite the handful of wizards need to leave or washout of the academy in the last month, and the academy has taken it upon itself to reorganize the towers." She chuckles slightly before leaning in toward the two of you "I'm going to let you in on a little secret" she begins whispering "the academy is alive, and has a mind of its own" she goes back to speaking at a normal volume "I've been reaching out to all the different towers that have been reassigned, and I was planning on reaching out to your tower to see how you're all handling your new living situation."Hulrus as you say you'd prefer it to be fixed, Edna speaks again "that was the fix my dear. The academy decided your current tower was a waste of arcana with so few living in it, so it reorganized, bringing together folks the academy believes should be. There is no changing it, it simply is to be."

Hin opens his mouth to respond to what Kaelen was saying, but pauses mid-start. After what looks like an excruciating three seconds, he lets out a gigantic sneeze. "Ah. Sorry. Someone must be talking about us." He sniffs, taking a look at the spell sheets. "This looks incredible. Have you made other successful modifications to spells, or is this your first time trying?" He gets out his spellbook, turning to a page in the very back where there's all manner of things written down and drawn on the pages. He pulls out a small, vaguely pen-like object as well, and begins jotting things down in the spellbook with it. It writes in ink, but not once does Hin ever pull out a bottle of ink and use it to write. "Sorry, mind if I take notes? I can do something similar with my spellbook when I cast spells, but it's not entirely the same. I wonder if the two methods of modification are similar, or if you've managed to find another way to alter spells without the help of a spellbook's sentience, or an even better, more specialized kind of modification!" He looks like he's going to say more, but manages to contain his excitement.
Laughing, he waves a hand in the air dismissively. "Don't apologize! This is fascinating, I'm getting terribly excited as well," he chuckles. "Did your mother tinker around with spells as well? And that is a beautifully crafted watch. When did you make it?"

"Alright. Thanks for enlightening." Hulrus isn't entirely pleased with the situation, but he doesn't seem very surprised either. "I suppose all the attending classes together and knowing where each other are stuff still applies to the new group? I might have to be friendlier..." The sentence trails off as the dwarf contemplates how to interact with his new towermates. "Unless you've got any more to talk to us about, we'll be heading off now."

(OOC: With that the two of you return to the tower? Or would you like to do anything else while out?)
Kaelen shakes his head ignoring the remarks as he keeps his attention on the conversation him and Hin are having “Not yet, this is my first attempt at doing this. Start small and work my way up. Prepping for this though was not easy because I needed to also look into the basics of evocation magic to know if it was even possible and if so, what changes needed to be made to bring it over into transmutation. In this case, you’re not really conjuring a bolt of fire to throw at someone, it would be more of a temporary shift in the flow of gravity. Also, no please feel free to take notes if you want, though it’s not complete so if you want to wait as well. If I am ever successful, you all would probably be the first to know.”
Kaelen just smiles as he thinks back to his family “No, she just liked to tell tales and weave stories. My sister took more after her in that aspect. After a long day’s work with my father and brother, it was nice to come home to a house that was filled with the smell of good food and the sound of good music. As for the watch, I started it when I was about ten and have just been tinkering and upgrading it since then.” Kaelen begins to collect the papers in front of them tucking them back into the book as he just opens it back up.
It’s kind of what my family does supposedly.” If Hin looks at the paper the first one is basic instructions on casting firebolt, what is needed, and the arcane breakdown of the spell.
I don’t know if it’s true or not, but if not, maybe I can make it true.” He then just pulls back his sleeve a little showing a watch off "I also made this."

And at least D'num, and I suppose this human fellow, are coming with me.
"What's your name again? Twigman?"

"No thank you," says Aodh politely to Twigmund "Though the sudden change is odd, I am quite content with the current state of things. Besides, you know how the saying goes, 'too many cooks in the kitchen' and all that. I trust you and Hulrus have the situation sufficiently handled."
Hi, I am not a chest. I deny with 100% certainty that I am a chest. I can neither confirm nor deny what I am beyond that.

"That is not dead which can eternal lie, and with strange eons, even death may die"
(OOC: Hin, Mythe, Kaelen, Aodh feel free to continue any rp you'd like to do while Hulrus and Twigmund are out)
Twigmund gestures to Hulrus and himself.

"We've had quite the handful of wizards need to leave or washout of the academy in the last month, and the academy has taken it upon itself to reorganize the towers." She chuckles slightly before leaning in toward the two of you "I'm going to let you in on a little secret" she begins whispering "the academy is alive, and has a mind of its own" she goes back to speaking at a normal volume "I've been reaching out to all the different towers that have been reassigned, and I was planning on reaching out to your tower to see how you're all handling your new living situation." Hulrus as you say you'd prefer it to be fixed, Edna speaks again "that was the fix my dear.

"yes, you will find tomorrow when heading to class, your towermates will be present in your general classes." she takes a moment before continuing "your specialty classes will remain the same however."
He looks over at Hin as he writes “So you don’t need ink for your pen to work? That must be very handy.”
