Hulrus is curious when the Hallmaster invites him and his towermates into his office, but the expression shifts to a slight degree of worry as Thal'rin questions the group. "The only thing strange about the party was the lack of good ale. If anything irregular happened, it happened where nobody could see it." Hulrus tries to study the elephant-like face of the man before him. He knows that something is off, but he's still figuring out what. "Why might you be asking, Hallmaster?"

"Hmm.." the Hallmaster thinks to himself for a moment before responding to you Hulrus "we've had a few strange reports from students. We're just looking into things; it's nothing to worry about!" he ends in a cheery tone. "How about the rest of you?" he looks towards the rest of the group, that hasn't spoke up yet.
Hulrus
He's a hard man to read, especially since you haven't spent a lot of time with him, so you don't really know how to read him. However, you realize for certain he's only sharing part truths to what he has said so far. There is a touch of concern on his face, but he's doing well at not showing much of it.
After his final class, Kaelen opens a different book from yesterday, this time on the foundations of evocation magic. He just starts walking. However, as the faculty member stops them, he just shuts the books and nods out of respect following them. When called in he walks in and remains quiet as the Hallmaster speaks. He blinks for a second as he looks at the others ‘Didn’t know they were there as well; I wonder if that has anything to do with why we got placed together as well’ he thinks. As the others finish telling their recollection of events he begins to speak “I didn’t see anything out of the ordinary Hallmaster Thal’rin. Though to be honest, I only stopped in to say congratulations to Mr. Hanali on his achievement and then I left a little after that to get back to studying.”
Hin has to tap out of the sparring match. "Sorry, Hulrus," he pants, clutching his arm. "I'm all sparred out. Good match. As quick as it was." He steps forward and offers Hulrus a fistbump. "That ward was tough. Wanna try another time? Maybe when I have more combat inclined spells at my disposal." He packs up his spellbook, and bounds up the stairs for the night.
(OOC: Just out of curiosity, would Hin be able to shapechange their blood? They'll spend the rest of the night trying out different things to test that. What do they find out?)
Hin wakes up a little late, scrambling down the tower stairs to get to his first class on time. Grabbing an apple from wherever the apples are kept, he leaps out the door and is gone. In their general classes, the rest of the towermates notice that he's shapechanged again, back to his half-elf form from before the sparring match. But this time, he has a serious case of bed-head.
"Good afternoon, Hallmaster. Is everything alright?" Hin greets Thal'rin as the group enters his office. He looks more put together than he did in the morning. "Ah, I see. I didn't notice anything strange, really. What kind of strange reports have you been getting, what have the other students been noticing? Maybe it'll help us jog our memory."

"Oh, most of the reports are nothing of major importance. A couple things have gone missing, but nothing for you to worry about. The faculty will take care of it." Thal'rin pauses a moment to let out a sign and breath "you're all dismissed. You may head off back to whatever you were off to do" he stands up and opens his office door for you to exit "be safe out there, and for the time being, the observatory building is locked and inaccessible to students."
(OOC:Hin, I'd argue no, you cannot. It's not really a part of your appearance or voice, which is what shapechanger ultimately lets you modify. You continue to bleed your typical crimson color, though your blood is thinner than most, you are aware of that.)
After being dismissed by the Hallmaster, Hulrus heads out the door of the office to continue on with his day. With all of his classes done, he heads to his tower with any others of the group that want to go there as well. Instead of going up to his room upon entering, however, he takes a seat in the common room and starts absent-mindedly fiddling with the enduring spellbook that he takes from his backpack, lost in thought about the Observatory and what Hallmaster Thal'rin said. Or, rather, what the Hallmaster didn't say.

Kaelen just nods walking out the door as he exits he pulls out the book he had started reading before being pulled into the hall master’s office. He just begins to move in the direction of the tower making mental notes of what he is reading and letting ideas formulate in his head.
"Okay... Thank you, Hallmaster. Have a good day." Hin waves goodbye, following Hulrus back to the tower. "That was strange. Did that seem strange? I think that seemed strange. What could he be asking us about? I wasn't really paying much attention... I had an exam and was too exhausted to see much other than what was right in front of me... Maybe the dragon-thing returned..?" He thinks out loud, both asking himself and whoever's around him. He turns to Hulrus and addresses a specific person for the first time in a few minutes. "Did you see anything strange that night?"
Hulrus keeps fiddling with his empty book as he answers Hin's question. "I didn't see anything strange, but somebody must'a done. Maybe after it was over. The man said just a couple things went missing, but I got a feeling that a bit more than that happened. Anyways, petty theft wouldn't make much sense in a place like this..." He racks his brain to remember if anybody in his general or specialist classes talked of missing items, or if anybody was unexpectedly absent.

Thinking back Hulrus, today's classes it's hard to tell if anyone was missing from your general classes, due to all the classes shifting around, but you do remember some students missing form your general classes the morning after the party-- that could have been because they partied too hard though. That's the likely scenario. There are no missing students from your specialty classes.

Hulrus closes his book and tosses it back into his backpack, getting up from where he was sitting and walking towards the door out of the tower. "Somethin's wrong about this whole thing. I'm not the type who likes to be left in the dark. Metaphorically. I can deal with literal darkness just fine.
"I'm going to go to wherever the people are, ask around a bit. Maybe swing by the observatory on my way, see exactly what 'locked' means." He takes a quick glance at everybody in the room. "Anybody want to tag along, feel free." He'll wait a bit for any response, and then head out with all who wish to join him. Hi, I am not a chest. I deny with 100% certainty that I am a chest. I can neither confirm nor deny what I am beyond that.
I used to portray Krathian, Q'ilbrith, Jim, Tara, Turin, Nathan, Tench, Finn, Alvin, and other characters in various taverns.
Kaelen just looks back at his tower mates as they walk out “I’m good thank you. Though it is kind of concerning that you all seem to question the staff at every turn.”
He just looks back at his book “Just don’t get caught doing the very thing the Hallmaster said not to do. I’ll be in the towers study.” His voice loud enough for anyone to hear as he walks off back to their tower.
Hulrus, Aodh, and Hin, the three of you make your way from the tower grounds, across the courtyard, and into the old grounds where the observatory stands. As you get into the old grounds the three of you immediately notice the presence of academy security. Occasionally you see one or two academy security in the grand hall, but that's all you've ever seen. However, in the direct vicinity of the observatory you count at least a half dozen men and women wearing a security brooch. Unlike all the students and even the professors, the security don't carry wands or staves. They carry silver swords with runic marks inscribed on them.
Kaelen, Twigmund, and Mythe, the three of you begin to make your way back to the tower. On the trip back, Mythe, you spot a familiar auburn haired woman standing at a stall looking over all the flowers being sold. You know this to be Naivara.
(OOC: Mythe and Twigmund may be going to the observatory with the rest of the group. Since we haven't heard from them though, I'm sending them to the tower for now.)
Hulrus takes note of the swords that the guards carry. He wonders: are they always silvered, or is that a special augmentation for a specific threat? Are there really that many guards there just to keep people out, or could they be trying to keep something in? He tries not to draw attention, continuing to walk past as his mind evaluates the peculiar situation.
"We shouldn't linger. I just wanted to see how seriously the Academy is taking this whole deal. Apparently, they're a little bit more than just peeved. Next stop... any ideas where people would congregate at this hour?"

Mythe gracefully weaves through the bustling grounds, her mind lost in thought despite her careful movement. Rarely does something big happen at the academy without her hearing about it soon after - her many connections make sure of that. Still, this matter must be of great seriousness, if it concerned the Hallmaster to such an extent that he would call her of all people up for questioning.
Distracted from her wandering mind, the elf's gaze lands upon Naivara hovering over a flower stall of some kind. A faint, knowing smile curves her lips, for she recognizes her friend and her bright auburn hair amidst the throng of students. With measured steps she approaches the woman, gracing her with a nod of acknowledgment. "Naivara, dear, what is it that you seek to buy? If it is flowers you are after, I am sure I could help you acquire blooms of much higher quality than you will find at some little stall.” She gives her friend a knowing look before waving a slender hand in the air, as if dismissing the thought. “But that is not of importance at this moment. Pray tell me, what do you know of some strange happenings at Hanali’s party? My towermates and I have just been thoroughly questioned by Hallmaster Thal’rin, and I am yet to find out why.” Her words are as collected as ever, but never one to miss out on gossip, she cannot help but foster a glimmer of curiosity towards these strange events
Hulrus and Hin the two of you continue shuffling about the old grounds before Hin approaches one of the security guards. The guard you stop and speak to responds to you Hin "Yeah, everything is OK. We're just securing the area while the inside of the observatory is being searched" she stops speaking for a moment and looks over at one of the other guards for a brief second "It's nothing to worry about, we're just doing our due diligence to keep you all safe."
Mythe, looking over the flower stall as you speak to Naivara, there are definitely some sloppy bundles of your typical roadside weeds, or flowers; but then there are some beautiful bundles, and then even more so, there are these single exquisite flowers. Almost all of the petals are an emerald green, except one, which is a golden color. They have a delightful smell to them. Each of those flowers has a small tag tied around it that reads 'free for the one you love'. There is a small wooden sign on the stall that reads 'Del's flowers'. Next to the name is a small insignia. It's of two locks of hair intertwined. One painted black and another white or blonde. "Oh yes, I was thinking about picking up some new flowers for my tower. I got some new towermates the other day and everything has reverted back to it's dull look." Naivara's smile grows as the two of you speak. "I thought some of these flowers were quite nice" she pauses for a moment "though, I would love it if you would help find nicer ones!" Her smile dims as you change the subject "I got a visit by the Hallmaster too actually. He asked if I saw anything at the party, and honestly, I think I did, but I told him I didn't."
Kaelen you make it back to the tower and begin your work on your project. (OOC: You can choose to stay near Mythe as she diverges, should you wish.)
Mythe pauses as she looks over the flowers, her gaze flitting across the strange green-and-gold flowers, before coming to rest on the sign and it’s insignia of locked hair, lingering for just a moment too long.
"You know dear, I do believe I have changed my mind. These flowers are quite charming, after all. Perhaps there is truth in the notion that beauty can be found in the most unassuming of things." With a graceful gesture, Mythe reaches down and plucks one of the unique flowers from its place, delicately twirling it's stem between her fingers.
As Naivara's words break through her thoughts, Mythe refocuses her attention on her friend, her surprise evident in the arched raise of her perfectly sculpted eyebrow. "Oh? Hold on just a moment, let us find a quieter spot-"
Linking her free arm with Naivara's, she guides her towards a more secluded corner of the courtyard. Once they find themselves in a cocoon of relative privacy, shielded from the prying ears of onlookers, Mythe leans in slightly, her gaze fixed intently upon Naivara's face. Her voice lowers to a hushed tone, rich with intrigue. "Well? what exactly is it that you saw?"
((If Kaelen decides to tag along with Mythe, she gestures impatiently for him to join them. If not, disregard this.))
Hulrus is visibly a bit ashamed for not thinking of simply talking to the guard. Noticing the vagueness of the guard's information, he tries to pry a bit further into what they are (or aren't) allowed to say. "Why are they looking for things? There was a party there a couple of days ago, and I don't think anybody saw anything weird then. Was something found yesterday?"
After it seems the guard has said all that they will on the subject, Hulrus will pull the two with him away from earshot and start leading them in the direction of the Hall of Divination.
"I think we should ask some students what they saw about now. I mean, it's not like somebody is just gonna walk up and hand us a golden platter with a story of everything that happened at the party and some flowers. I figure the best place to look is the place what got the divination people. Their whole thing is seeing stuff, right? Somebody musta seen something. Open to suggestions, though."

Persuasion (if necessary): 1 (1 + 0)
After it seems the guard has said all that they will on the subject, Hulrus will pull the two with him away from earshot and start leading them in the direction of the Hall of Divination.
"I think we should ask some students what they saw about now. I mean, it's not like somebody is just gonna walk up and hand us a golden platter with a story of everything that happened at the party and some flowers. I figure the best place to look is the place what got the divination people. Their whole thing is seeing stuff, right? Somebody musta seen something. Open to suggestions, though."
Look at what you've done. You spoiled it. You have nobody to blame but yourself. Go sit and think about your actions.
Don't be mean. Rudeness is a vicious cycle, and it has to stop somewhere. Exceptions for things that are funny.
