As you and Naivara get into a secluded section of the courtyard, Mythe, she begins speaking. "Well--" she pauses as if looking for the right words to say or even what to say "I saw Aramil go through a faculty only door in the observatory with Caelynn on his arm" Naivara hesitates again before continuing "a little while after, a couple other students I've never seen before went through as well. Rumor has it Aramil hasn't been seen since the party."
(OOC: It's not uncommon not to know every student here. The campus is quite large. You've also not heard this rumor yet.)
As you pry a little bit further Hulrus the security guard begins saying "we're looking for a few impo--" before catching herself "a few of the things from the observatory itself have gone missing. They were likely just misplaced."
(OOC: So Hulrus, you plan to head over to the hall of divination?)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"A few important... what? If something's missing, maybe we could keep our eyes peeled, help out?" Hin muses, (OOC: as I try persuasion this time). Hin's Persuasion!21
Unless that works spectacularly, Hin will thank the guard and follow Hulrus to the Divination hall.

At the mention of Caelynn, Myth audibly scoffs. "Hmph. I should have known shewouldbe involved in this somehow. What poor taste Aramil has, to let her on his arm. Still, I do hope no ill fate has befallen him. Perhaps I should just ask Caelynn directly? Thought I doubt she would be willing to talk to me, let alone about such matters. Nevertheless, if something really did happen…”
Seeming to realise the severity of her words, she quickly reaches out to pat Naivara on the shoulder in what appears to be an attempt at comfort. "Oh! But I'm sure it will all be fine dear, do not fret. Here, I shall buy you some flowers for your tower from that stall; you may choose whatever bunch catches your fancy. I did drag you away from it so rudely, after all.”
The guard leans in close to you Hin and whispers "A few important documents have gone missing and their magic can be felt within the observatory, so they were used here."She returns to her normal composure before continuing "it may be wise for the two of you to leave the area until our investigation is over."
As the two of you begin walking back to the flower stall, Mythe, Naivara leans over "well, I haven't seen Caelynn around.. have you?" she then gestures to the single flower you had grabbed "so, who do you plan on giving that to?" a sly smirk comes across her face. She picks out a nice bouquet of flowers, which has a tag on it saying the price is 2 silver coins.
"No, I havenot seen Caelynn around for quite some time. Then again, I don’t exactly go out of my way to seek her company - quite the opposite, actually. Don’t tell me she’s disappeared as well?”
“As for the flower.. I’m afraid that’s for me to know and the rest to wonder.” Mythe returns Naivara's smirk with a sly grin of her own, the corners of her lips curling upwards ever so slightly as she tucks the plant safely away in the folds of her skirt. “For the time being, I shall simply hold on to it for safekeeping.”She reaches into a small pocket at her side and retrieves two silver coins, presenting them to the stallholder with a flick of her wrist. “Here you are.”
"I do not know if she has disappeared" Naivara pauses as you question "you know how she was when she was around. One thing goes wrong and she vanishes for a bit." As you refuse to answer her question, Mythe she speaks once again "well, way to keep all the mystery to yourself" she giggles "I hope I find out soon who this mysterious lover of yours is!" After purchasing the flowers and (potentially?) saying your goodbyes in a cheerful tone she says "thank you for spending some time with me today Mythe. It's always enjoyable and I sure hope we get together again soon!"
(OOC: There actually is no stall tender. There is simply a small wooden drop box where you deposit the 2 silver.)
Hin as you ask this question you get a sharp response "that's all the info I can share, and I wasn't even suppose to share that. It's best you be off."
(OOC: Off to the hall of divination Hulrus and Hin?)
Kaelen paused as he watch Mythe separate from the group. He just lets her interact with the person as he reads, occasionally pulling a pen out of his pocket to mark up something on the page. He waits patiently for her to finish figuring it best that anyone at that party not be alone for now.
"Right, thank you for your time. Have a good day." Hin nods and waves goodbye to the guard before joining Hulrus once more. "So, where to, now?" Once they're out of the guards' earshot, Hin drops his voice and says to Hulrus: "I got a little bit of information from the guards, they say they're missing some documents. I asked a bit further, and naturally, they couldn't tell me much else."

Hulrus starts bringing his companions towards where he knows the Hall of Divination is. He's pleased that they learned more than he thought they would from just asking the guard, but is still curious for a bigger picture.
"They must be real important documents for all the trouble the Academy is going through just to secure 'em. Hallmaster must have lost his checkbook or something. Anyways, I figure we should go see some of the diviners that went to the party. They're supposed to have eyes in the back of their heads. Or everybody else's heads, at least. They're more likely to know what happened than anybody."

Hin, Hulrus, and Aodh; the three of you leave the old grounds and make way for the hall of divination. As you arrive and step inside you see a plethora of students moving around. Some you may recognize and know they're not divination students and some you know are. There are groups of students in the divination library studying, and there are students who are giving student led lectures in the empty classrooms now that classes are officially out for the day. The majority of the students are in their books reading or studying, but there are a few that take heed to your presence and great you. You have your pick of many diviners to speak to here.
Hin takes a look around, walking through the halls and occasionally taking a peek at the student-led lectures. But what was just a peek becomes more of an eavesdropping as Hin finds himself surprisingly interested in what the students are lecturing about. He doesn't seem to realize he's getting distracted as he takes out his notebook and flips to the very back, and starts taking notes.
(OOC: Does Hin recognize any students in the hall, the library, or in the classrooms?)

Hulrus takes a glance at the same lecture Hin is studying, and looks a bit puzzled. "I can't see the point of all the studying they do here. Couldn't they just foresee the answers to all their tests?" He tries to draw Hin back to the task at hand, leading him towards the library and looking around before pointing to a student currently perusing books.
"I'm pretty sure I saw them at the party. And, just as importantly, I'm pretty sure they stayed sober enough to remember it. Hin you do in fact recognize a few folks here, but most importantly, you recognize Ben Stanly, another shapeshifter who you've gotten to know a decent amount. His current form is that of a high elf, fairly average looking with the exception of his extremities. They are just elongated enough to leave you feeling slightly uncomfortable, and maybe a little self-conscious with your own extremities, whether it be because yours seem short compared to his or close in size. You're not 100% sure if he was at the party or not, as you didn't see any of the forms he frequents.
And of course, Hulrus points out another students he's fairly positive he did spot at the party. A divination student who neither of the three of you actually know. He stands about 3 feet tall and wears a nice light blue robe over a simple pair of brown linen pants. He's currently standing on a short side ladder and straining to reach for a book on an upper shelf.
Hulrus walks up to the student that he spotted. He offers to help reach the book, but being only so tall himself, he falls just short of the high shelf it's placed on. After a fair bit of unsucessful reaching, hopping, and other such things, he begins a short incantation to summon his bat familiar, D'numkrall, from the pocket dimension he resides in. Said incantation goes on for a tad bit longer than it feels like it should, and an especially suspicious wizard might notice some of the arcane words and gestures used coincide with those used for detect thoughts... though, it's probably just because he's inexperienced with find familiar.
Once D'num is present, the book comes within reach easily enough, which Hulrus grabs and hands to the student. "That'll be yours. Hey, didn't I see you at the party in the observatory a couple days ago? People keep sayin' that something weird happened there, but nobody I've talked to actually saw it. It'd probably be a rumor, but they got guards all around the observatory now. I guess something must'a happened, like somebody lost their spellbook again or some documents went missing."
Perhaps unknown to the student he is conversing with, Hulrus will be able to detect thoughts for a minute after his familiar was summoned, so he'll focus on those of the student for that time. He'll especially pay attention to any thoughts popping up when he mentions documents going missing.
Look at what you've done. You spoiled it. You have nobody to blame but yourself. Go sit and think about your actions.

"Man, I really should have thought of that. I can't believe I didn't think to summon herbert and have him lower the book to me." As the student takes the book from you "Yeah, I was there, but I don't really think I saw anything weird. Especially not something that would warrant whats going on with all the guards." The student thinks to himself for a moment "but you know what. Let's ask my buddy Jimvor. He's right over here."Hulrus, Hin, and Aodh, you all know a Jimvor. And surely enough, this student leads you around the corner, to a table where one of your towermates sits "Hey Jimvor, this nice fella--" he turns back toward you Hulrus "actually I didn't quite catch your name?" he looks back at Jimvor"anyway, this nice fella was wondering if I knew anything about all the guards around the observatory, and I don't, but I could have sworn I remember you talking about something weird happening."
Jimvor
This students name is Phillip Neverwort. He's potentially a friend of yours you've made while at the academy. You're at least sat down with him at the moment and were going to assist him on some studies in divination.
(OOC: I apologize for the color choice. It hurts my eyes, but I have committed already. At this time, Jimvor, even though you've been living in the tower with all these folks, retroactively, please describe Jimvor for everyone! And welcome, officially, to the campaign!)
The gnome, not in his prime years anymore was reading a treaty on Necromancy and smoking a nicely crafted smokepipe. Hearing his name, he raises his head, tries to hide his smoke pipe in a rush and closes his book. He has dark hair with an old dutch style beard and wears nice clothes but not too fancy, and all in dark colours. The only thing bringing some colours to his character is a couple of jewels: a silver necklace with a green emerald and the shiny brooch of his tower. On his shoulder, one could spot a tiny lizard hiding in the crevices of Jimvor cloak.
“Phillip, good to see you. Ah, I actually know this person, Hulrus, isn’t it ? It seems we are sharing our accommodation, I saw you and the others very quickly this morning before running to the classes.” Jimvor looks deep in the eyes of Hulrus. “The observatory you say. Yes, weird things but I’m still unsure if I should bring it to the supervisor.” With his hand, Jimvor signals the two to get closer and continues whispering: “Weird things indeed. I saw two hooded figures stealing a scroll. I also saw Aramil and an elf women in the same restricted area… but never saw them leaving”. Jimvor wait a bit to let the other absorb this information and continues: “On top of that, I could fell traces of residual necromancy arcane power floating around. So… this is definitively triggering my curiosity. Your turn: do you know something of that night ?”
OOC: I choose dark green for Jimvor (I felt it gave a feel of necromancy), tell me if that’s not ok.
As Jimvor gestures for Hulrus to lean in, he does so with great interest. He stares off into space as he ponders the implications of what was seen at the event. When asked to give some information in return, he decides to divulge all the little that he knows. No point in keeping secrets between towermates, right?
"Everything that Hin, Aodh, and meself figured out was that some important documents of some sort went missing. Suppose that'll be the scroll you saw stolen. Other than that, the Academy really seems to want to get the whole thing figured out. Half a dozen guards were around the observatory, and normally you won't see more than two in the same spot."
