Bryn rushes over to Arr to try to help him. The Warforged has part of the plate that protects his left shoulder dislodged, and two spikes impaled in his chest. Carefully, Bryn manages to fit the plate back in place. He tries to remove the spikes but notices that a thick iridescent fluid is oozing from the tips. Leo approaches. "Don't touch-e the spikes. They've pierced through the arcane energy-e filaments, but they're-a preventing a complete leak-e. Maybe he's still functional," Leo says, his voice filled with concern. "I've got-a this, maybe it'll help-a." Leo places a goodberry in Arr's mouth, but it seems to have no effect.
Seeing that Bryn and Leo are attending to Arr, Rylia hurries over to where Coltinar and Paladin are, the latter still unconscious. She asks Coltinar how she can assist while she yells calling the strangers.
"We're not of any House, miss. We'll try to help. Who's in charge?" responds the half-orc mounted on the lone black griffin when Rylia asks for aid. "Over-r here, per favore! We can't seem-e to help him. I'm the pilot of the Amelia," Leo yells answering the half-orc as strong as he can.
"Have you been injured? And Bryn? And Braxiel? How's Arr?"Coltinar, concerned, fires questions at Rylia as she responds that Braxiel is hurt but okay, she and Bryn are unharmed, and they're trying to help Arr but without success. "I'll be okay! The light of Dol Arrah and my friend Paladin protected me," Coltinar says when Rylia inquires about his condition. "But my energies are waning, I need to decide where I can be more useful."
Rylia, pooling all her natural and magical knowledge, desperately tries to heal Paladin's wounds. She doesn´t know exactly what did work, but suddenly she felt a surge of arcane energy flowing from his metal body.
"By Dol Arrah, you did it! You saved him! He's stable, he'll be fine," Coltinar exclaims, giving Rylia an unexpected hug. "Help me up. I need to check on Arr."
The cleric then walks as quickly as he can, kneels beside the Warforged barbarian and sacrificing his own healing, expends his last bit of energy to try to stabilize his friend. A golden light emanates from Coltinar's hands and envelops Arr's body. However, the magic dissipates without any effect. //---DM running coltinar for a while---//
Leo approaches Rylia and Paladin, placing another goodberry in the paladin's mouth, who coughs a bit and regains consciousness.
Paladin gains 1hp
At that moment, as Arr's fate remains uncertain and Paladin regains his senses, the black fog had dissipated, revealing that the enemy ship is now piloted by one of the half-orcs. The captain, the pilot, and a tiefling are there, kneeling with their hands bound on the middle of the ship, and the two manticores were no longer in sight.
The half-orc who spoke before, the only one mounting a black griffon, leaps onto the ship."Hi! I'm Boho. What are you doing in these neighborhood? You seem far from home" they say, looking around and fixing the gaze on Rylia with her flowing, floral attire, her cloak and her violin case. "There isn't a real violin over there, isn't it?"
It's only at that moment, sensing this gaze, that Rylia realizes her once-blue coat has taken on a brownish-orange hue.
Rylia laughs at the unexpected hug from Coltinar, giving him a slight hug back. She then helps him up so he can check on Arr. When Boho mentions the instrument she's carrying, she gets a wide smile on her face. She takes a few steps over towards him. "Of course! It's certainly a real viol. And I of course know how to play it!" With a thought, she causes her cloak to ruffle with a bit of a flourish. "We have an appointment in the Cogs and our fine Captain Leo there," she tilts her head towards the man, "was taking us there. Then those pirates appeared! Can you believe it? Pirates right in the airways of Sharn?" She laughs, "Well, I suppose you can believe it since you've now captured them! We're clearly in your debt for your help."
To herself she thinks, 'Those griffons are wonderous too. I wonder what it would be like to actually fly one? I wonder if he'd let me ride his? Certainly they must've been a big help against those awful manticores.'
Paladin remains on his knees, just trying to meditate on his feelings of failure, attempting to find gratitude in survival.
@dm I'll try to remind next time we have battle, but Paladin has the Protection fighting style, which means he can use his reaction to force an enemy attacking someone within 5 feet of paladin to make their attack at disadvantage.
Braxiel still reeling in pain is now realizing the impact of the battle and rushes to Arr’s side. He runs through his mind of any books he read about Warforged anatomy.
@dm can I make a history check to see if I remember anything I read?
OOC Nice, @Paladin! I´ll try to remember it as well. Anyway, weren't expected you win, the manticores and the captain were very strong and had tons of HP. With all the attacks they still had more than half of their HPs. Plus, the monsters were rolling terribly well. in the last round they had an advantage and I didn't even need to use it :-/
On Arr´s side, Braxiel recall the details he has read about Warforged anatomy.
He remember that Warforged are intricate creatures, composed of a combination of materials like wood, metal, and stone, all infused with arcane magic to give them life and movement. The metal plates and magical components form their basic structure, while their joints are designed to allow for fluid and efficient movements. They don't exactly have veins, but have an intricate meshwork of filaments through which lubricating oils imbued with arcane magic run. remember that Warforged, while generally sharing common structural elements, can exhibit variations in their forms and structures due to the craftsmanship and materials used during their creation. Some might have unique modifications, emphasizing certain traits over others. However, as Braxiel study Arr closely, he senses that there's something about him that goes beyond these variations.
Arr´s structure seems to have some peculiarities that go beyond what Braxiel have studied. One of the things that catches his attention the most is the iridescent liquid dripping from the spike embedded in Arr's chest. It doesn't resemble what the Wizard knew about Warforged. The color is darker, and Braxiel senses a certain strangeness in its appearance.
Braxiel will grab a vile from his bag to collect the liquid dripping from Arr and when they are in a calm space he will do the ritual of identify. After collecting a vile full of the liquid he will then rip a piece of his clothing to plug the dripping.

//---DM There is only few drops of the liquid (that Braxiel could analise just because of a history roll of 19). There isn´t enough liquid to grab or make identifications. Boho's impressive figure catches attention. A half-orc with a striking blend of features, wearing tight leather clothes in dark reds and black tones, that bring out every well-defined muscle. The face with captivating eyes and surprisingly sharp angles, possesses an unusual beauty for this kind of creature, leaving one uncertain whether Boho is male or female.
With a smile, Boho addresses Rylia, with a tone a bit sarcastic. "There are several Sharns, milady" The voice sounds light, almost in a flirt mode. "Certainly not in the Upper Districts, but around here, yes. Pirates and other dangers too."
Turning the gaze to Leo, Boho asks about their destination. "So where exactly are you going in the Cogs? From the harms of your ship, it's seen better days. It couldn't handle a long journey."
Boho explains that they received a warning about someone hitting one of the family's towers. With a touch of amusement, the half-orc mentions to have decided to patrol the area and, so they found your group under attack.
When Leo responds, "We're heading to Canith Forgehold," Boho's eyebrows rise in surprise. The eyes sweep over the group, and the lips form a wry smile as the half-orc repeats, "Canith Forgehold? Really?" An incredulous shake of the head follows, accompanied by the unassuming act of spitting something that was being chewed out of the ship.
"OK, so! We can escort you to your destination for the price of 20 gp, if you want. And we can help you to repair the damage on your ship, beautiful captain!" Boho says to Leo, while looking at Rylia with a smile and a mischievous wink. "just because i liked the violinist"
Coltinar approaches Boho with a thankful expression on his face, his concern evident. "Dol Arrah bless you for your timely assistance. My friends and I are truly grateful for your help. However, I am especially worried about Paladin and Arr. They are in a dire state. Would you be able to help them, or guide us to someone who can?"
Boho listens attentively and replies, "Well, my group is more of a scouting and guarding outfit. We don't have any clerics or wizards among us. I could try taking them to a House Jorasco healing center, but if you're headed to the Forgehold, that might be the best place for treating warforged. However, I must admit, I'm not sure if there's any hope left for that one." The half-orc nod with one's chin to Arr.
Coltinar's brow furrows with concern, and he nods in understanding. "I see. Well, any assistance you can provide would be greatly appreciated. We're on a quest of great importance, and our companions' lives are at stake. We'll do whatever it takes to save them."
Boho's face softens while looking at Coltinar's worried expression and gives him a pat on the shoulder "Don't worry, mate. We'll do our best to help. And who knows, maybe those two can pull through. Warforged are tough creatures."
Rylia can't help but admire the attractive half-orc. "You seem very knowledgeable about all these different Sharns," she says softly. For a fleeting moment she thinks, 'Is he one of those 'other dangers' he mentioned?' But rather than dwelling on that, she looks Boho in the eye and confidently tells him, "You should hear me play! Then you might just want to escort us for free!" She gives him a grin. "Not that 20 gp is too much! After all, you've really helped us. I'm grateful."
(Persuasion, mainly trying to impress and charm him, maybe waive the fee: 16)
Leo, quickly processing the available materials, took the fallen canvas and some jumbled ropes, and fashions a crude but serviceable padding, creating a more comfortable surface for Paladin and Arr to stay upon. While Bryn and Braxiel find a way to get Arr onto one of the makeshift mattresses, Coltinar and Leo help Paladin get to the other one.
Boho chuckles at Rylia's words."Well now, lass, I might just take you up on that so nice offer. I'd love to hear you play that violin of yours someday, that is, considering you'll still have it when you leave Cogs"Boho says in a sarcastic tone. "But I cannot offer my services for free, even for a lovely tune...But I also know that you had some tough moments and your friends really need help as soon as possible." Ponder, looking to the two worforged laying on the deck.
Rylia's attempt to charm the half-orc seems to have had an effect, as Boho's expression softens slightly."I must say, you do have a way with words. And I won't deny that you've got a captivating presence. Tell you what, I'll knock off a half of gold coins from the price. So, give me 10gp for my men grab some ale later and we escort you to your destiny safely.
"And another-r 10gp for-r the repairs of my Amelia?" Leo asks forcing a sad voice."
OK! OK! A violinist and a charming accent, let´s move before you both convince me to pay to work for you. Do we have a deal? Boho ask, taking few steps away and whistling at the black Gryphon, that begins to approach.
Bryn will nod his approval to Boho's proposal, and Leo's request for repair money, if Rylia looks his way. But she's certainly got this negotiating thing down and didn't need his approval =)
Rylia does give a brief glance to the others, catching Bryn's nod. She seems to hesitate when she looks at him, adjusting the new green scarf at her neck. However, she quickly shifts back to Boho.
"Sir you have a deal!" she says enthusiastically. Seeing Braxiel hand over some coins, she reiterates. "Ten to escort us and ten to help the Amelia?" Fishing out another 5 gp, she hands it over to Boho. "And I do hope you come see me perform. Tell me how to contact you and I'll let you know my schedule."
Boho receives the 15gp from Braxiel "Well then, seems we have a deal! You only owe me 5gp to repair your Amelia, young captain." Boho shouts to Leo who is at the stern of the ship assessing the damage. "Thank you! Leo, you can call me Leo" "You shall thank to the distinguished gentleman with the unusual mark. Boho points at Braxiel, who realizes that during the battle his clothes tore right at his shoulder, revealing his tattoo that shifts between shades of purple, sometimes lighter, sometimes darker.
"Sir?" Boho smiles. "Okay, so, we are ready!" Boho says when Rylia offers the last 5gp.
"Follow me. We'll take a shortcut through Fallen. It's faster than going the long way around." "Yes, we are ready, but... through Fallen? Are you sure?... It's just that... don't you think it might be better..." Leo stammers, seeming concerned. "Don't worry! It's a territory we know well. And everyone knows us, which is more important," Boho grins slightly. "We'll be safe, safer than if you were with those House Deneith guards," he adds, playfully teasing Rylia.
"We could lighten the load of the damaged Amelia here. Why doesn't the young lady come with me? It'll be a much smoother ride, and you'll get to experience mounting a beautiful animal." Boho raises an eyebrow in playful challenge.
