The bird man sits up and processes things for a bit.
Me? I thought you of all people would understand how... frustrating a life of seclusion could be. The rest of the clan have moved to The Dead Lands. They've been there for a while now. They moved about month after you left. It's gets very... lonely alone so I'm here.
Elsara peers around the doorway and waves to the other aarakocra. "Psst, are you two friends?" She whispers to Folki. Her assumption is that since Folki isn't cutting the other aarakocra in half, they're cool.
"he is from my .... How would you people put it? .... From my tribe. .... Though last time I saw him he was just a fledgling"
To cyrus, in broken aarakocra (common for about half of it);
" No I understand... Though I did not leave out of boredom....... Why are the family in the Dead Lands, there is no prey there? .... Did our hunting grounds become that barren? ..... And why have they stayed for so long, they should have moved when your brood were old enough for your own eggs?"
(Ok adding in some lore that just came into my head. The aarakocra move nests every 4/5 years as the next generation reaches maturity. Each generation has all of their young at the same time, caring for them all as a group. No direct parents, the tribe are all your parent's)
(A minor retcon. It's my fault for forgetting to explain what the Dead Lands were. Essentially, the dead lands are huge expanse of swamps, light and dense forests. The reason the Dead Lands are called that is because it was once the most populous location in what is now the Rurik Union. However, the plague that happened 600 years ago hit this place the hardest and all civilization in this region was wiped out. A wall was built to quarantine the place. Since anyone entering was almost guaranteed to die, it was called the Dead Lands. Also, I like the added lore. Thanks for that.)
Cyrus also switches to broken common. "Our ancestors, 600 years ago told us there were no food. A curse killed everything but the trees. We were forbidden from entering it. However, a scouting party told us that the ancestors were wrong. The Dead Lands are thriving with wild life and there are no large societies there. Moreover, the old buildings and towns provide excellent places for our nests. The reason the clan is still there is because they noticed that there is a seemingly endless supply of prey. They move every four years from one place to another but they refuse to leave The Dead Lands." The bird sighs and grow a little quiet. He looks at Folki and says, "There are things in the woods. The killing curse (which actually refers to the plague) still has lingering effects. There are deadly creatures in the woods." A look of fear washes over the young aarakocra's eyes. "Our tribe was always prideful. They weren't going to let some wild animal evict them from the best hunting grounds the clan has seen in centuries. I was scared of what lurks beyond the clan boundaries." Cyrus goes quiet again. "I always thought our lifestyle was boring but the fear of what we might encounter was what convinced me to finally leave. I flew back and rested in Roris, a town near our previous nest. I met Jiggs there and I decided to travel the world with the circus."
Elsara kinda breaks the mood at this point, entering the room. "Hi~~." She waves to the aarrakocra. "My name's Elsara Deepmoon, pleased to meet you. So are you like Mister Folki's little brother then?"
(ok retconing the line about the dead lands to " why did the family move, we had been there only a year?" Ie Cyrus' brood were the generation born there)
To cyrus: " it makes sense why I couldnt find the family now.... No one would have thought to look in the dead lands, and no word of you would have come out...... Is kren still skyfather? That old man was always too stubborn..... And how is ... Lora?"
To elsara: "...not quite..... Nephew would be a better term for it.... Ill explain it later Elsie"
"Okay!"Elsara says happily in response to Folki. "Umm... Should I leave you two alone to catch up? I wanna go see the animals, anyway."She says, giving herself a way to leave and let the aarakocra continue their personal conversation. "Come on, Mister Valwarin, you can tell me more about the animals." She tugs on Val's arm to leave them to their business.
Cyrus shakes his head, "I don't know. Last I checked, Lora was fine. She was one of the ones who advocated staying in the Dead Lands. She... didn't want the tribe to move around as much as they did anymore. She wanted something more stable like the towns you see in the rest of the world. Kren was the hardest to convince. However, he died of illness after you left. The next person to inherit the title was Trocus. He was willing to overlook ancient norms and move."
Elsara goes to look at the other animals in the cages (Val may or may not join). She sees a Tiger in one of the cages and a wyvern in another.
Folki puts a hand on Elsara shoulder as she leaves. "Thanks El"
He then drags a box out from next to the wall, putting it close to Cyrus' bed and sitting down.
"...she did always think we could be more.... It's sad to hear about Kren, he was a good man.....and it makes sense that trocus took his place... He always had a knack for giving orders.... Though I'm surprised that Indra would choose him to be her partner, she was always warrior of the two..... I would have thought she'd pick someone more..... Diplomatic"
"I'd think so too," says Cyrus. "But I'm sure she had her reasons. The other members of the clan seem to like the new skyfather. Especially since the clan has gone into a sort of golden age since moving to The Dead Lands. It's just that I don't feel it right. So, what have you been up to during the past 6 years?"
“But doesn’t he wants me to heal his injuries?” Asks Valwarin looking at Folkli, Elsara and Cyrus not quite understanding... “Hmm ok as you wish, if you change your mind we wil be around I guess “ he says as the other elf pulls him out.
Seeing the tiger in the cage Valwarin reaches his hand to touch him.
“What a depictable place I find this circus “ he says to Elsara “ such a creature should be back were it belongs and free. “ He closes his eyes and when he opens them again he starts to talk to the tiger.
”Greetings noble hunter, I am Valwarin Omaren, druid of the Old Ways. How can I help you?”
Elsara will lead Val through, asking him plenty of questions about the creatures in an attempt to get him to follow her to give Folki some space. Eventually she'll either bump into some performers to chat to, or head back to the group and go through the actions posted about earlier (setting up alarms, taking the horses for a bath, etc.).
"We just came across your group..... we're travelling in the opposite direction..... why are you here? ..... do you know where the family is?"
The bird man sits up and processes things for a bit.

"You want to help me? Why?" The tiger says to Val.

(Unless Elsara purposely bumps into someone, she'll be able to make it back to camp. If she stays with Val...)
(Yeah, the posts came in between me opening the page and posting)
Elsara will wait with Val, watching him commune with the tiger with curious awe at the druidic magic.
“You don’t belong here. Are you in that cage by election? This is.. wrong”
