Oh right. Elsara wasn't disturbed in the library but Hunin, Skiirod and Folki were shown their rooms and are asleep there now.

Gendan, Folki, Skiirod and Hunin go to investigate the camp fire. You reach just outside of the town border where Gendan left the goblins to watch the fire. They report that nothing really happened while they were gone.

What do you guys do.

"Let's find out who these folks are." Due to Vladimir's instructions, Gendan is only hitting to knock out, not to kill, in the event of conflict.

Okay, so I assume all of you go to investigate. The goblins also go with you. When you get to the campsite, you just see a campfire and some food lying around. Make a Perception check.

Perception 11

Gendan, you see a guy in a dark mask hiding 55ft away. As he sees, you he runs away in the direction of the village. However, before you can decide to do anything, a particularly healthy owlbear shows up at the campsite and is extremely annoyed at seeing you guys there. It roars.

As you guys know by now, I like to have everyone roll initiative whenever there is the chance of a fight to break loose. However, that also means there's a chance to avoid the fight entirely through your actions.

(Yeah, without Val and Elsara, I have a feeling this one will come to blows.)

Gendan glances at the owl bear, but is keyed in on the masked man. If she can Dash to within melee of him before he takes off, she will do that. 

(Haha good point, but the other guy is still in range of Hunin. )

Well, the minute you guys walked in and looked at him, he ran so I'd say you can't see him because your dark vision only goes 60ft. He could be at a distance anywhere from 65ft to 115ft.

Initiative Order:

 Skiirod rushes the owlbear and attacks it with his sword. Hit:15 Dmg:5

Folki is pissed off about the owlbear so he rages and attacks it with his greatsword. Hit: 11 Dmg:9

Skiirod slashes the creature in the face, causing a splash of blood to cover him and his sword. The creature roars, standing on it's hind legs. This gives Folki a perfect opening to fly in and thrust his greatsword into the creature's belly.

Hunin's turn.

(Folki and Skiirod have been NPCed until they're players have time to post. hoyer wanted to test his own homebrew birdman race but I'm currently controlling Folki as the normal Birdman as stated in the PbP.

Hunin will take out his orb out of his coat pocket will spin his hands around the orb and say the verbal commands for Magic Missile

Then use his movement to make his way toward where he saw the guy. In a round about way trying to keep his distance from the owlbear.

Hunin's spell successfully damages the Owl bear. He moves 30ft toward the direction of the black masked guy but he still can't see him.

The owlbear attacks Folki. Claw: 22 Dmg:13 Beak:24 Dmg:10

The Female Goblin moves in to attack the owl bear. Hit:16 Dmg:3

The claws knock Folki around. As the Owlbear tries to bring it's beak down on Folki, the goblin rushes up and slashes the owlbear's throat with her scimitar. The cut isn't deep enough to kill the creature though.

Gendan's Turn.

Goblin crit: 2
