Kanai wakes up and immediately says, "Ah! That fighting style wasn't a monk technique. Monk techniques are far superior when they are properly mastered so I will inevitably best it someday. Until then, you are a worthy opponent, girl with red hair. I declare you as my rival!" Kanai says, before realizing he is not standing in front of Gendan.
"Thanks, Val."Elsara says, offering a hand to Kanai to help him to his feet. "You have a really interesting fighting style. Where did you learn it?" She asks.
(I'm just imagining the words Kanai is saying don't match up with his lips as he talks, like really badly translated martial arts movies.)
"Oh!" Kanai jumps up in excitement at the prospect of talking about his techniques. "I studied in Shijian Long Monastery in Maldor (part of Rurik Main). Though they teach a variety of fighting styles, the most popular choice is the Four Elements technique since most people want to follow in the footsteps of Seraph. But not I! I idolize my master and trained in the Way of the Sun Soul following him. Master Gokul (Pronounced Go-Cool) said, "The best way to get stronger is fight strong opponents." So, I've set off on a training quest to fight strong opponents! Master Sugimura taught me the basics of the Sun Soul technique. However, he did not believe in training quests. He said, "What the hell is a training quest?" and that was when I knew I had to follow in the footsteps of Master Gokul by myself!" Kanai takes a deep breath after finishing. In his excitement, he forgot to breathe.
(Can confirm. He is based on badly translated anime. Same result.)
Elsara nods as she listens to this characters backstory of epic proportions. "Well, we're adventurers for the guild. We're out here helping the people in our own ways. We are planning to head back there now, but need to setup camp for the night. Do you mind if we camp nearby?"
Elsara gives Kanai a quick bow of appreciation."Thanks. We'll set up just over there."Elsara picks a spot that isn't too far away as to seem like they want to avoid Kanai, but not too close as to encroach on his camp. She will do her usual thing of placing a couple of alarms for the group, then when everything is set she will return to her evening ritual of practising her blade dances for a short while before settling down with Elyza's book.
Summer 40 (39--->40) Time: 8:00 PM (I don't think a map is needed here)
The next morning, you guys wake up at 4:00 AM feeling fully refreshed (You all get Long Rest). You say your goodbyes to Kanai (If anyone wants to do any thing during the time from Summer 39, 6:00 PM to Summer 40, 4:00 AM that involves Kanai, feel free to post it) and head off north toward the road while Kanai heads south. You soon follow the road back to Sydil.
By the time you arrive in Sydil, it is now 8:00 PM and everyone has gone inside their houses. The town is shrouded in darkness as the half-moon in the sky is not enough to overcome the darkness of the night. You can see light coming from underneath the doors and from the cracks of the windows of most of the houses. The townsfolk are preparing to go to bed but they clearly haven't done so yet. Sitting atop the small hill is the large Guild building. The weather is not too terribly hot but it isn't windy so you feel kind of uncomfortable. It's nothing more than a mild annoyance however.
Elsara, not wanting to get into trouble with the rental services again, will wait until the following day to take the horses and cart back. She'll take them to The Guild and stable them near where the pegasi are, then join the others in going seeing if Catherine is at her usual position.
"Yeah, well we needed to take Miss Blackthorn back to Camenose after getting her suppplies."Elsara says. "We saw a circus, but Val didn't like them because they kept pets. And when we got there, there were a group of villagers who were attacking the Evans Clan, even though they were helping at everything was peaceful. How have things been here?"
Catherine leans back in her chair and says, "Things have been pretty boring. It's good that you're exploring though. It pays to know the land and travel off the beaten path from time to time. However, as a retired Rogue, I want to give you some advice. If you're on a mission and you want to go exploring, it would be good if you do it on your way back here rather than on your way to the mission location. Secondly, always carry extra water and have climbing supplies with you. There are lots of mountains in Rurik that would prove deadly should you try to climb them without proper equipment."
Elsara nods. "Thanks, Miss Darkwing. I'll definitely keep that in mind."She says, making a mental note. "Oh, Miss Blackthorn gave me her old text book on poisons and diseases. I think I'd like to spend some time reading through it to see if there's anything that could help in the future. If you want to borrow it sometime, I'd happily pass it along." She smiles at the aarakocra. "Oh, and I'm planning to write a letter back to the Evans Clan. Is there anything from The Guild's perspective that I should add into the message?"
Catherine says with a smile, "Her old text book? An old edition of the Plague Doctor's Encyclopedia, I presume? Thank you for the offer but I already have a copy of that so I will have to decline. Though you might want to borrow a book on basic alchemy to go with your encyclopedia. A lot of what Plague Doctors do is derived from a branch of alchemy after all. Anything that we might want to tell the goblins from the Guild's perspective is added to Gabby's letters so feel free to write your letter however you want."
"Do not worry Elsara I will heal him "
Valwarin calls upon the healing power of mother nature to heal him
( casts two cure wounds on him: 8 + 9 )
PbP Character: A few ;)

Kanai says, "Not at all! It is good fortune to be able to set up camp near worthy opponents."
Elsara gives Kanai a quick bow of appreciation. "Thanks. We'll set up just over there." What do you guys do?
Elsara, not wanting to get into trouble with the rental services again, will wait until the following day to take the horses and cart back. She'll take them to The Guild and stable them near where the pegasi are, then join the others in going seeing if Catherine is at her usual position.
Catherine is at her usual spot. You notice that she has decorated her back shelf with the empty bottle of the 1000 year old wine.
"Hello, Miss Darkwing." Elsara says jovially as she enters with the rest of the group.
Mimzy... if Elsara does not mind the company and has no objections will tag along with her and help her with the horses and cart.

Catherine gives you stern look and says, "So, I heard you guys went off traveling..."
She then smiles and says, "So, did you guys see anything of interest?"
It seems she tried to psyche you out by acting disappointed but she couldn't hold her acting long enough for it to happen.
"Yeah, well we needed to take Miss Blackthorn back to Camenose after getting her suppplies." Elsara says. "We saw a circus, but Val didn't like them because they kept pets. Elsara nods. "I was planning on combining the letters. Is Gabby around currently? I hope things for her here have been less hectic than in Camenose."
"Yeah. Gabby's in her room."
"Thanks." Elsara says. "I might to check on her." Elsara makes her way over to where Gabby is staying, knocking on her door lightly.
