Perception is needed to hear what's happening on the other side of the door. And you rolled poorly. Val doesn't understand what's being said in the other room.
Gendan places her head on the door to listen to the next room. As she does this, she feels the overbearing feeling gain in intensity as the distance between the source and herself is reduced. She hears a conversation between two people. One of the people seems to belong to an older man (Blue). The other voice is slightly nasally but otherwise young (red).
"But this... This isn't what I wanted! The city is destroyed!" "Oh shut up. You wanted to rule with an unfaltering army and here you have one." "But everyone's dead and their corpses have been reanimated! I thought you were going to make me king! Not kill everyone in the village." "I didn't kill anyone. You did. You wanted to rule and I told you to put the potion in the well. Now you're king and your subjects are loyal minions." "But this isn't right. You lied to me!" "Look old man, how long are you going to keep telling me the same thing? We've been going around in circles for a good while now. You wanted to be king and wanted an army to take over Rurik. I gave you the army and now you're whining about it. Don't you see? With the amulet I gave you, you can bend the undead puppets to your will. Anyone the puppets kill will join your forces. The puppets won't betray the holder of the amulet. With this, you can easily march over and conquer the land. You got what you wanted, I got what I wanted and now everything is fine and do your thing." "Y-Yes you're right. I've calmed down now. Thank you. Yes, with the amulet I will rule the Rurik, No, The world. My puppet army is unstoppable."
Aside from keeping an arrow trained on the door from a fair distance as others listen in, Devarus holds his position until given some clarity by the others. Even if it comes merely in the form of their opening the door, and him having to "figure" things out from there. The longer he has to wait however, the more the ill-feeling of being too close to the twisted source of power and magic twists his gut, drawing more visibly pained looks out of the half-drow.

Goyo - [Tortle]Druid/Warlock - Circle of Sea/Celestial (Libretalia)
Drozo - [Hobgoblin]Cleric - Blood Domain (Call of the Netherdeep)
Runt bashes the door and though it doesn't break, it does slam open from the force. Beyond you see two people; a portly middle aged human man with a balding head and short black hair. He reels back and looks panicked at your entrance. He wears white robes and scarves that is typical attire for royal advisors. The thing that is off about his attire is a gold amulet with a bright red gemstone on it. This must be the amulet that you heard about. The other person is dressed like a nightmarish version of a jester. He wears a strange face mask that seems to not have any holes for noses or eyes. Is it magical? It is white with the pattern of the happy-face that is seen in theaters painted on it with black. The only difference is that there are also tears drawn on the eyes. He has a pointed cap that is black with dark red stripes. The cap ends in a spiked bell that is splattered in red ink to give the illusion of blood. He wears a black studded leather vest with the usual rivets being replaced with small metal spikes. His arms are wrapped in thick red cloth. On his belt you see multiple daggers. Strapped to his back is an old and broken ukulele. There seems to be multiple cuts on his cloth arms, reveling white cotton which is also splattered in red ink. He has red cloth pants and black pointed shoes.
The overwhelming presence is coming from this jester. The presence is so strong that it makes it near impossible to think clearly. He doesn't seem bothered at all by your arrival. He says, "Well well well. What have we here? Uninvited guests and pesky party-crashers. Heheheheh. This is good though. It gives you good chance to show me that it wasn't a mistake to give the amulet, Jerrick." The man stutters, "I-uh what?" "Don't tell me you're getting cold feet at the first sign of opposition. How are you going to rule the world if you can't even kill 4 nosy adventurers. Show me what you can do. ~I'm Watching~"The jester then disappears and so does the overwhelming feeling. It seems that he, like the paladin before him, has teleported away somewhere. Then a large eye forms in the ceiling. He is gone but he is watching the events unfold. Jerrick says, "Yes. It's just adventurers and only 4 of them. I can handle it. Entire armies will fall by my hand." His amulet glows with the sinister red glow of Affectus Uti.
I'm going to say no because this was a King's throne room and making it easy for an enemy spellcaster to use this spell to assassinate the king/decimate his soldiers would be dumb.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Devarus Initiative: 12.
(Belatedly realized my held attack was ruined by my last post poor re-iteration. Which is lovely. But oh well. Can't interrupt the bad guys monolgue before it even starts. That's the height of rude!)

Would anyone else care to try?
Runt knows her skills are better used to keep alert to danger.

Gendan will take the other two chains and a rope. I propose we split the coin, but Gendan would definitely take all of it if nobody else picked it up.
Gendan will listen into the next room. Perception 20

Waiting on Gendan and Runt.
Runt is ready to rumble. Only knowing what Genden tells her prior to what ever it is they do next.

"We better go for them now and end this. We need to take control of that amulet or we will be surrounded by those puppets soon enough. "

Gendan shares the contents of the conversation and signals to Runt to bash the door down.

If everyone is ready, Runt will bash to door down.
