The omens vary. We had someone we called, The Stormchosen, who was supposed to interpret. Until i was chosen that is. Runt pauses, not sure where to go next with the conversation.

Runt, the Stormchosen: Half-Orc barbarian level 5 -- The Guild
"Oh, so there's a few prophecies on the subject I guess." Elsara comments, seemingly invested in the conversation. "I guess it's a great honour then, being The Stormchosen. That's really amazing!" She lets out a sneeze. "Ah! Sorry, it's a little too cold and wet for me. Shall we get a bit of shelter?"
Runt leads Elsara inside and continues It is, but my tribes hatred of me clouded their minds. They hated me more for being chosen. So i left the fools in their mountains, with no Chosen to read the storms. Though i was not trained to read the storms properly. The old Stormchosen refused to teach me.

Elsara frowns slightly."Well that's rude, isn't it. It seems unfair they wouldn't just because they didn't like you."Elsara thinks for a few seconds. "I wonder if there are other cultures that heed to the same or similar creeds and theology. Perhaps they might have some guidelines to help you with being the Stormchosen!"
Runt smirks They hated me because i am only half orc. And very small at that. Runt is only 5 feet tall and looks almost human aside from her pale green skin tiny lower tusks that only just peak out of her mouth. They refused to believe a runt half-breed could be their stormchosen. I would like it if i could learn my purpose. But for now i will settle for cracking the skulls of bad people.

Runt, the Stormchosen: Half-Orc barbarian level 5 -- The Guild
Later that night, the man wakes up, He is questioned by the captain and he reveals that he was a captive of the pirates. He escaped on a raft but in the sea, his craft got damaged and then he passed out on driftwood.
A steely eyed Devarus looked unmoved by the admission. Still, there is a subtle nod to Runt's assertions before he is back to eyeing the man. "Where did they hold you? Were there any other captives there with you? How large did their numbers appear? Did any appear with a particular mark of office -- a.... gave off the sense or appearance of a captain that you saw and could describe? How /exactly/ did they capture you?"
He waits a heart beat or two before sighing and letting the tension ease from his shoulder. "I know this is a great deal to ask, and so soon after your harrowing trials. But the more you can give us before encountering these... sea brigands, the more likely we can set things right. For even good and honest person's sake."
In spite of the switch from bad cop to good, Devarus tries to keep a close eye out for any duplicity to the man's responses.
The man looks stunned a bit by the series of questions. He says, "They are based in a small island. Towards the North of Lun. Not on the map. They were a group of 12. One was the captain but not sure which. I was part of a merchant's crew. We were attacked and I was captured. Our ship was sunk."
(Sadly, I am either too young or simply not widely experienced enough for that one AS.)
"But no extraordinary tactics were used in bringing down your ship? No mage capable of manipulating the weather, or merely providing more devastating artillery?" Devarus waits long enough for an answer before retreating into mentally his own head. "Did any... Did any appear to be of the sea born residents? The... Like Sea Elves or, any race like that? And did they at least try to parley with you crew before sinking the vessel? Or held a special interest in one of your crewman upon capturing you?"

The man says, "No. They just boarded the ship, killed everyone and then looted the place. They took a few of us hostage though. There were no sea eleves or anything of the like. It was like an orc raiding party but on the sea instead of the ground."
Devarus expression turned stormy. "Understood. They will be treated the same then. For now, I have no further questions. But, if you think of anything else that might help -- anything at all along the way, do not hesitate."He looks up to the others in the party around, signaling for another to step up with more questions. If none seem eager or do, he looks to the captain next and says with a small grin, "Well captain. Shall we go pirate hunting?"
