The Guild - Game Thread

Elsara heads over to see what the others are looking at. "Oh, are we wanting to pick out another quest before we head away?" She asks. "Well, maybe we should finish off our other loose ends first?" Elsara adjusts her belt to make her blades sit a bit better for walking. "But since we're here, does anything look interesting to you?"

 Elsara does a little double take. "Adamantine studded leather? Does that mean the studs are adamantine?" She looks a little perplexed at the thought of something being both metallic and animal hide at the same time. Maybe it is a tanned hide of an adamantine dragon.

"We should take back that ring we recovered and then check that mission. " Val says about the last one " I must admit that bow picked my curiosity" 

(Oh baby, that is a nice amulet! Definitely attuning to that the same night!)

Devarus chuckles. "Yes. Truthfully, I originally come over here to try and remember where we were to return the ring, not thinking we had something on hand already about the ring." He admits before regarding the listing again. "And I'm afraid your guess is as good as mine. But, I imagine as a more seasoned adventure than I, you have a few inklings. Heh. But, we should keep these in mind, and go through the 'proper' channels'." Devarus looks about for any signs of Cathrine. And if in plain view, he smiles and waves and then looks back to the list to memorize the details again.

Then something finally seems to click prompting Devarus to facepalm. "We're in Sydil. SHe's in Sydil! My goodness, maybe I am getting to old for this." He chuckles softly. "The Vandore forest and the river is just south of here. Shouldn't take no more than couple days at most. A few more still, depending on what we find, and then we can search along the river... In fact, I could even ask my mother about the area. Plus, it is the most pressing. After we can see about that bloody play before heading to Cosmer."

Catherine says, "Ellise's house is close to the center of town. Get to the town square and go behind the small building to the south west. The house behind that small building is Rainseed's house. Due to protocol, I will have to ask you to come back here after delivering the ring, deliver a completion report for that mission, and then you are free to take the quests on the board."

"Thanks, Miss Darkwing!" Elsara says to Catherine. "Okay, let's go give this nice lady her ring she's been after for so long. We ended up in a lot of bother, but we can finally get this one ticked off of the list." She then adds to the others. "Oh, and remember that blade we found, the scimitar? I'm going to give it a go for a bit, more checking for a studious purpose. If things look a little iffy with it, I'll see if I can do something about it."

With that, Elsara is set to follow Catherine's directions to Ellise's house (pending the others coming along.)

Devarus follows along quietly, still a bit embarrassed over having not remembered things right.

Valwaryn follows Elsara, extrangely he seems comfortable in the city for the first time since the rest know him. He is even whistling and humming an elven song almost to himself.

Elsara will offer to hand the ring over if the others want, happily skipping down the street with them, letting her travelling cloak flow behind her as she leads the way. When they arrive outside of the house, she will politely knock, bobbing a little on her ball of her foot as she waits for a response.

A young human woman opens the door. She asks cautiously, seeing the well-armed party. "Yes? How may I help you?"

"Hello there! My name's Elsara, pleased to meet you." Elsara offers a hand to shake. "Are you Miss Ellise? We were tasked by The Guild for an items collection quest." She holds off on any further information until the woman confirms who she is.

After nearly bungling the whole mission once, Devarus was content to observe and let things play out. Although he still did keep a close eye and ear out for anything being off with "Ellise" during the exchange, as was instinctive for the retired guard. Once they had confirmation he would produce the ring and hand it over with a bit of a crooked smile and a tipping of a non-existent hat.

The woman says, "Yes, I am Elise. You have my grandfather's ring?" Once the ring is handed over, she says, "Please wait here while I get payment." She disappears into the house for a few minutes before returning with a pouch of 100 GP (25 GP per party member). She thanks you for the ring and closes the door.

"Yep, here it is!" Elsara offers the ring to her, looking ecstatic to the group. "Isn't it great making people feel happy? Let's head back and give Miss Darkwing the good news!" With that, she'll begin her happy frolic back towards the guild headquarters so they can get updated on the current quests and information.

"Excellent! One can only wish that everyone would so happy after we finish what they ask for us!" 

"That's life for ya though. Which is why its always nice when it actually gives you lemonade over lemons." Devarus said and chuckled a bit after. "Right then. Back to the base to officially pick up the mission. You have a good day, Miss Elise. And may you have far better ones in the future." At that, the half-drow happily follows after Elise, if albiet with much less frolicking to be seen out of the old man.  "So, Have you two at least given much thought regarding my proposal? About seeing to the rescue operation first, before we head elsewhere to tie up other loose ends? We may also wish to make sure the wagon gets properly serviced before we set out on it again... Though, hm... we may actually have to go without it, come to think of it for the rescue. If only due to the forest density likely working against rather than for us."

"I did my best to fix it up." Elsara mentions. "However, I'm not a carpenter, so it'd be best if it had a bit of a rest. Oh! We could hire some horses from nearby. Ooh, Twinkle Snow..." Elsara bobs energetically at the thought.

Runt seems to have been lost in her own mind fro quit some time. Something eats at her mind and pulls her attention away from what's going on around her. Perhaps it's the loss of a kindred spirit. Perhaps she hears the faint whispers of her distant God. What ever it is, she continues to follow the group. They need a bruiser, and few cause bruises like herself .

So after you guys return to the Guild what now? You still haven't told me if you take any of the quests and which one. You can only take one at a time. Normally you've been able to do two or more by exploiting the courier service in this land. However if you're going into a forest, you may not be able to do that as there are no post offices in the forest.

(Waiting on confirmation from the others, but assuming still take the forest job first at the very least. Chances are we'll have to escort them back to Sydil anyways, or somewhere else with the courier system in place, so can go from there.)

(Also, can it be assumed we're able to have the carriage serviced? Just in case the Mending and other repairs might not be enough for reliable future travel?)
