Enemy HP:

The layout of the 3rd floor is very similar to the second floor with the key exception being that a set of stairs in the middle of the hallway goes to a set of double doors instead of another floor up. A red carpet decorates the hallway and part of these stairs. Two decorative hanging swords decorate the north walls on either side of the hallway. As soon as Deva steps on the rug tough, it curls up and tries to swallow him but the half drow rolls out of the way. The rug stands up and seems pissed. The decorate swords fly off from the walls and begin speeding down the hall towards Deva and Val. Deva narrowly avoids the magic sword but Val isn't as quick. He gets slashed across the chest.

Would it be possible for Runt to grab the sword and jam it in the wall or floor imobilizing it?

Hmm.... Well Runt has two attacks with Extra attack so... roll a Grapple Check followed by an attack roll.

Remind me what a grapple check consists of please?

Grapple check is Athletics vs Enemy Acrobatics/Athletics.

Ok so Athletics first 21 and the attack roll (assuming unarmed strike stats) 13

Muttering some words in elvish Valwarin grabs her quarterstaff and a faint green light expands over it from his hands. He swings it toward the sword that had surprised him trying to pin it down to the floor.

With all the coordination of a man that had been lucky more than possessed of extraordinary skill, Devarus somehow managed to tumble back onto his feet, but had to scrabble to snatch up his weapon before it too got swallowed by the rug. "Holy Ma-gooly! Blasted decorum! It'll take more than that to see my end!" He declared as Scattershot is leveled on the rug for two short bursts of deadly bolts, pinning it if nothing else maybe!

Enemy HP:

Runt grabs the sword that was attack Deva and jams it into the wall. The sword wobbles around, trying to free itself but it can't get out. Deva meanwhile gets a proper footing and blasts the rug full of holes with two point-blank shots from his Scattershot. He tears considerable chunks off the rug with his blasts. Val bashes the sword and pins it to the ground, causing cracks to appear on the blade. The Sword wiggles free though and slashes Val's shins in retaliation. Elsara can't quite make it to melee range thanks to the halls being so narrow and she can't use Mind Silver because Constructs tend to be immune to psychic damage. So instead she launches magical darts of energy at the Rug and blasts some more holes in it. The rug attempts to swallow Deva once again but the dark elf bashes the rug away with the butt of his bulky crossbow.
