(I assume Devarus doesn't have eyes on the rat swarm from where he is, so with that in mind)
Devarus winces and mutters, "Not exactly the best sign that was." He then looks between the rope and the landing, pondering making the jump, before ultimately falling back cursing under his breath and make a beeline for the first floor, so he could begin climbing the rope proper.
Bonus Action: Using Improved Fall Back.
Movement & Action: Moving and dashing as well.
(To ZulkRS: All in all, spending 75ft in total to get as close to F4 as possible, climbing down the stairs only to climb up the rope from ground level.)
Going back down the first floor and climbing up the rope was a long way around it took quite a while. Deva wasn't able to get all the way up the rope though, climbing partially up.
I'm ruling the rope takes 30ft movement to climb so Runt would have 10ft movement left. However, Deva is still on the very top of the rope so that would block her from getting off the rope at the top.
Runt and Deva start making their way up the rope. Elsara meanwhile teleports up there with a Misty step and takes out the weapon gifted to her by the hobgoblin so long ago. She causes magic to course through the blade and waits for the rats to come. Val moves back as well, partially moving on to the stairs to the third floor to get better space to move. He causes primal magic to flow around his hands as he prepares for the rats. When one swarm gets close he unleashes a boom of sonic waves that causes the rats in the swarm to explode into paste and paint the walls, floor and the ceiling. The other swarms moves in from the opposite side. Elsara jams her sword right in the middle of the swarm and causes the surge of magic to radiate the sonic waves from the sword to the floor and the surrounding air. A large number of the rats explode but others start moving up the sword to Elsara. The bladesinger is quick to withdraw her blade from the ground and shake the rats off her arms.
Devarus scrambles up the rest of the way as quick as he can to the next landing. Even if that meant taking a bit of a risk towards the top by crawling along the lip first to get past Elsar. From there he falls back even further, giving Runt as much room as possible before breaking out the bow and popping off a few shots into the swarm. "Runt! Now." He calls out to spur her on if any shot should land and clear enough rats away.
Movement: Climb and scrabble onto G6.
Bonus Action: Fall back to G3. (if necessary)
Action: Attack w/Longbow at Rat Swarm 2. To Hit: 22 For: 4 of non-magical piercing damage. To Hit: 15 For: Unable to parse dice roll. of non-magical piercing damage.
If any hit, using Maneuvering Attack to deal an added 8 damage and allow Runt spend reaction to immediately move half her speed without provoking OAs.

Deva fires off a few more arrows at the rat swarm. Being that the swarm was trying to get up on Elsara, he had to aim carefully lest, he hit his ally on accident. This causes one of the arrows to fly wide but the other arrow manages to skewer some of the rats. Val swings around his scimitar and bats more of the rats away to disperse them. The rats squeak as they are sent flying all around the place. Finally with one well-aimed strike, Elsara slashes the remaining rats with her Slasher and clears them out. Runt finally climbs up the rope and joins the party though the rat swarms had already been dispersed by then
Battle Victory. Got 53 XP (Which I will add to your sheet)
The group now finds themselves on the second floor. It probably wasn't the way they originally planned on getting up here but they were there nonetheless. To the north were stairs that led to the third floor. Hopefully those stairs won't have massive holes in them. The second floor hall way stretched east and west, both ending in walls. The east wall had a window on it that looked outside. On the east side were 4 doors, two on each side of the hall way. On the west side there was 3 doors, one on the north wall, near the middle and two on the south wall.
"Hmm. Worth a gander, if nothing else, if its on this level as well and, uh... you remember the way.Though, I am very doubtful there would be much to go on there." Devarus admits before squinting at the rats. "It is... strange. I half expected only the armored creatures to be the main defenses here, as -- from what little I know of such things -- they tend to follow general orders well enough. For a swarm of rats to yet guard the place as well... I do not know. But, it is troubling."
Devarus then looks to Runt. "Apologies for blocking the way before. In my haste, I overestimated my own athletic skills." He said with a sheepish grin.

Entering the room, it looks like someone took the time to organize it. The bed is well made, the desk has the papers and pens well organized. The dresser stands next to the desk.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Devarus frowns a bit at the state of the room. "Suppose he would bother with such care." The half-drow spoke with a slight edge to his tone. "Still, worth a shot for a quick look around at least. He couldn't have been /that/ thorough." At that, Devarus strode further inside the room to check place like under the bed for anything possibly forgotten by Victor and would suggest another check out the papers in case an impression had been left by some previous writings over top them.
Devarus looks around and finds some papers on the desk that seem to have some impressions on it from having previous writings on top of it. However, the impressions seem old and hard to make out as is. Perhaps if someone knows a way to make the impressions appear more clear, the writing could become legible?
Noted.
Deva, Runt and Elsara's turn.

Is she close enough to like, jump from the rope to the ledge and pull herself up?
