Closer to, but not yet around the bend, the wagon trundles along, the woods and tickets are denser here on either side, closing in on the path slightly. Slight embankments rise either side of the road, blocking views of the ground ahead. The two oxen slurp at the given water eagerly, both grunting and nodding at Thaurea, ears flicking at the mention of 'hay', "Food..." one of them replies in an animal grunt that only the Druid hears and understands. Ahead, Thaureanotices a flock of birds, just around the bend, circling lower in the warm day's sky than usual. Black crows. Usually this low due to a feeding opportunity.
(DM: Ashleighis still on the path but slightly ahead? In either case, if you roll Perception, yep, that'd be great!)
Thaurea will try to talk to the crow closest to her. "Hail, beautiful black bird, How are you faring this hot day? How are things along these ways? My oxen friends are helping us to make our journey to Phandalin. Have you seen anything on the way or in the vicinity that might pose danger to us? We´ll appreciate if you can help"

“Low-flying birds? Seems like there may be a dead body, maybe even a person. We need to be cautious!” Thomar is staring into the landscape scratching his beard vigorously.
Ashleighpushes on around the bend and sees the trail straighten out, the embankments steepening into a mini-valley, the thickets and woods pressing even closer here. A large darkened somewhat-spiky shape lays in the middle of the road some way in front of her, the sun beaming down at the human from above the tree line makes it hard to make out exactly what, other than the visible circling crows.
The wagon rumbles around the bend to join the Sorcerer, just as Thaureacalls out to the birds, the oxen also looking to the sky. The crows, intent on the shape below, scare easily and decide to scatter in sight of the approaching potential danger, the Druid hearing some cries of "Danger!" and "Flee!" as they disperse in different directions over the trees...
"Fellows, we have some danger ahead! I think we'll have company. The crows warned us to flee, but I suppose that's not an option, right?"Thaurea warns everyone. Let´s go, "Beauty"! She murmur taking her scimitar.
Thaurea, do you think they saw us already? Thomar thinks with regret: "I should ask Ash to try to be stealthy".If not, we could try to ambush them, while they try to ambush us. I can bait them.
Sure, but I have armor on me. Maybe you two can go around those trees, and if someone will try to attack me, you and Thaurea will go behind them, and flank them?
As the Dwarf leaps from the wagon, the oxen continue to move forwards drifting slightly off the trail and coming to a gentle stop in some grass, roughly 250 feet from the dark shape in the road. Now more alert, the party see the shape is actually two shapes, two dead horses, blocking the path ahead. Each has several black-feathered arrows sticking out of it, with a few bits of saddle and pack debris scattered across the ground around...
(DM: While we wait for Nir / Ianstaer, where are you all stood at this moment? Imagine the trail a straight road, with steep embankments either side, thicket / bushes atop each slope, and then the forest beyond. The wagon, slightly off the trail, is 250ft from the horses, and you're all fairly close to the wagon)

Thaurea, is near the wagon, more or less ahead of the oxen. "Stay here, friends, take the chance to rest a little, but keep an eye out, someone might want to attack us. Let me know if you see anything."

Ashleigh, beware! An ambush is upon us! They shall try to strike you with their arrows!
Thomar leapt from the wagon, grasping his sword and shield, and charged towards Ashleigh, scanning the tree line ahead for any sign of the enemy.
